< Luka 11 >

1 Amah a om vaengah a tue a pha tih hmuen pakhat ah thangthui. A thangthui bawt ah, a hnukbang pakhat loh Jesuh taengah, “Boeipa, kaimih he thangthui ham n'thuituen lah, Johan long khaw a hnukbang rhoek te a thuituen van,” a ti nah.
And it came to pass, that as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
And he said to them, When ye pray, say, Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
3 Khohhnin rhamhnin kaimih kah buh he amah khohnin ah kaimih m'pae lah.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 Kaimih kah tholhnah soah kaimih he n'hlah lah, kaimih khaw kaimih taengah laiaka ba boeih te ka hlah uh van dongah. Cuekhalhnah khuila kaimih n'khuen boeh, 'ti uh,” a ti nah.
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
And he said to them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves:
6 Ka paya yin lamkah kai taengla ha pawk tih, anih ham ka tawn pah khaw ka khueh pawh,’ a ti nah.
For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
7 Te long khaw a khuiah a doo tih, 'Thakthaenah nen khaw kai n'toeh boeh. Thohka a khaih coeng, ka taengkah ka ca rhoek khaw ihnah dongla om uh coeng, nang paek ham ka tho thai mahpawh,’ a ti nah ni.
And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
8 Nangmih taengah ka thui, anih te a paya la a om dongah thoo cakhaw pae mai mahpawh. Tedae a paya te a calaak coeng atah thoo vetih a kuek yet te a paek ni.
I say to you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
9 Nangmih taengah ka thui, Bih uh lamtah, nangmih tem'paek bitni, toem uh lamtah na hmuh uh bitni, khoek uh lamtah nangmih ham a ong binit.
And I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened to you.
10 Aka bih loh boeih a dang tih, aka toem loh a hmuh dongah aka khoek ham khaw a ong pah ni.
For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, the door shall be opened.
11 Nangmih khuikah napa pakhat te a ca loh nga a hoe vaengah, nga yueng la rhul a doe aya?
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if [he shall ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Aiduei hoe koinih a ca te saelkhui-ta-ai a paek aya?
Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 Te dongah nangmih a thae la aka om long pataeng, na ca rhoek te kutdoe then paek ham na ming uh atah, vaan lamkah pa loh muep a ming ngai dongah amah aka dawt rhoek te tah Mueihla Cim a paek ni,” a ti nah.
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more will [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
14 Rhaithae om tih a haek hatah olmueh la ana poeh pah. Te dongah rhaithae te vawl a caeh daengah olmueh te koep cal tih hlangping khaw a ngaihmang.
And he was casting out a demon, and it was dumb. And it came to pass when the demon was gone out, the dumb spoke; and the people wondered.
15 Tedae amih khuikah hlangvang loh, “Rhaithae boei Beelzebul rhangnen ni rhaithae a haek,” a ti uh.
But some of them said, He casteth out demons through Beelzebub, the chief of the demons.
16 A tloe rhoek loh a noemcai uh tih vaan lamkah miknoek te anih taengah a toem uh.
And others tempting [him], sought from him a sign from heaven.
17 Tedae amah loh amih kah kopoek te a ming dongah amih te, “Ram boeih he amah a paekboe atah poci tih, imkhui loh imkhui a paekboe thil atah cungku.
But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house [divided] against a house falleth.
18 Satan khaw amah neh amah paekboe uh koinih, metlam lae a ram a pai eh? Kai loh Beelzebul rhangneh rhaithae a haek na ti uh.
If Satan also is divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out demons through Beelzebub.
19 Tedae Beelzebul rhangneh rhaithae te ka haek koinih, na ca rhoek long tah u rhangnen lae a haekuh.
And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast [them] out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20 Tedae Pathen kah kutdawn neh rhaithae te ka haek koinih, nangmih soah Pathen kah ram ha pai coeng.
But if I with the finger of God cast out demons, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
22 Tedae anih lakah aka tlung ngai ha pawk vaengah tah anih te a noeng. Te vaengah a pangtung thil lungpok haica te a rhawt pah tih, a kutbuem a poelyoe pah.
But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
23 Kai taengah aka om pawt tah kai aka koek ni. Kai taengah aka coi pawt loh a thaek.
He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
24 Mueihla thae tah hlang taeng lamkah a nong vaengah tuihang hmuen te a hil tih duemnah a tlap. Tedae hmuen a hmuh pawt vaengah, “Ka nong tak tangtae kamah im la ka mael ni, ' a ti.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest: and finding none, he saith, I will return to my house whence I came out.
And when he cometh, he findeth [it] swept and garnished.
26 Te dongah cet tih amah lakah aka thae mueihla tloe parhih te a khuen. Te phoeiah a kun puei tih pahoi a om puei dongah tekah hlang kah a hnukkhueng tah lamhma kah lakah a thae la om,” a ti nah.
Then he goeth and taketh [to him] seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last [state] of that man is worse than the first.
27 Te a thui vaengah hlangping khui lamkah huta pakhat loh ol a huel tih Jesuh te, “Nang aka yom bung neh aka cun rhang suk tah a yoethen,” a ti nah.
And it came to pass, as he was speaking these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said to him, Blessed [is] the womb that bore thee, and the paps which nourished thee.
28 Tedae Jesuh loh, “Pathen ol aka ya tih aka tuem rhoek tah a yoethen ngai,” a ti nah.
But he said, Yes, rather blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
29 Hlangping he a khawk vaengah a tong tih, “Tahae kah cadil tah rhaithae cadil ni, Miknoek te a toem uh dae Jonah kah miknoek pawt atah miknoek pae mahpawh.
And when the people were assembled in crowds, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also shall the Son of man be to this generation.
31 Tahae cadil hlang rhoek taengkah laitloeknah ah tuithim manghainu te thoo vetih amih te a boe sak ni. Anih tah Solomon kah cueihnah hnatun ham diklai khobawt lamkah ha pawk. He ah he Solomon lakah aka khuet om ta he.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.
32 Ninevi hlang rhoek loh tahae cadil kah laitloeknah te a pai uh thil vetih a boe sak ni. Jonah kah olhoe neh a yut uh atah, he ah aka om he Jonah lakah khuet dae ta he.
The men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, a greater than Jonah [is] here.
33 Hmaiim a tok te tanhnaem ah khueh pawt tih voh khuiah khaw a muek moenih. Tedae aka kun rhoek loh vangnah hmu van saeh tila hmaitung soah ni a khueh.
No man when he hath lighted a candle, putteth [it] in a secret place, neither under a close vessel, but on a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.
The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thy eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when [thy eye] is evil, thy body also [is] full of darkness.
Take heed therefore, that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
36 Te dongah na pum te boeih vang tih cungvang ah a hmuep pakhat khaw a om pawt atah, hmaiim loh a aa neh nang n'tue vaengkah bangla phaeng aka vang la om ni,” a ti nah.
If thy whole body therefore [be] full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light; as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
37 A thui vaengah, Pharisee loh a taengah buh ca la anih te a cael dongah kun tih a ngol puei.
And as he was speaking, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to eat.
38 Buh kungah khut a nuem lamhma pawt te Pharisee loh a hmuh tih a ngaihmang.
And when the Pharisee saw [it], he marveled that he had not first washed before dinner.
And the Lord said to him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
40 Hlang ang rhoek! a sohman ah aka saii loh a khui te khaw a saii moenih a?
[Ye] fools, did not he that made that which is without, make that which is within also?
41 Tedae a khuikah aka om te doedannah la pae uh lamtah, nangmih ham boeih caih ni.
But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and behold, all things are clean to you.
42 Anunae nangmih Pharisee rhoek! Sungii, sungsing neh toian boeih tah na paek uh dae Pathen kah tiktamnah neh lungnah tah na hnalvaluh. Saii hamla a kuek te dalrha uh tak boeh.
But woe to you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint, and rue, and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the others undone.
43 Anunae nangmih Pharisee rhoek te! tunim kah ngolhmuen then neh hnoyoih hmuen kah toidalnah ni na lungnah uh.
Woe to you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
44 Anunae nangmih aih te, hlan bangla lumrhilumrha la na om uh dongah a sokah aka pongpa hlang loh ming pawh,” a ti nah.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over [them] are not aware [of them].
45 Olming pakhat loh Jesuh te a doo tih, “Saya, na thui te kaimih ni nan neet,” a ti nah.
Then answered one of the lawyers, and said to him, Master, thus saying, thou reproachest us also.
And he said, Woe to you also, [ye] lawyers, for ye load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
Woe to you! for ye build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Truly ye bear testimony, that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchers.
49 Te dongah Pathen kah cueihnah long khaw, “Amih taengah tonghma rhoek neh caeltueih rhoek te ka tueih van vaengah, amih te a ngawn uh vetih a hnaemtaek bitni,” a ti.
Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and [some] of them they will slay and persecute:
50 Te dongah Diklai a tongnah lamkah tahae cadil rhoek loh a long sak tonghma rhoek kah a thii phu te boeih suk nawn saeh.
That the blood of all the prophets, which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51 Abel thii lamloh Zekhariah thii duela hmueihtuk neh im laklo ah ni a poci. Ue ta, nangmih taengah ka thui, tahae kah cadil taengah a suk bitni.
From the blood of Abel to the blood of Zacharias, who perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say to you, It shall be required of this generation.
Woe to you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye have not entered in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
53 Te lamkah loh Jesuh vawl a nong phoeiah tah cadaek rhoek neh Pharisee rhoek loh mat a hmuhuet uh tih anih kawng te muep a cawh uh.
And as he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge [him] vehemently, and to solicit him to speak of many things;
54 A ka lamkah ol khat khat neh tangkhuep ham amah te a rhongngol uh.
Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something from his mouth, that they might accuse him.
