“‘If anyone sins ·errs (the standard goal)·, in that he sh'ma ·hear obey· the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he does not report it, then he shall bear his depravity (moral evil).
2 Hinglu pakhat loh rhalawt hno khaw, rhalawt mulhing rhok mai khaw cuem pawh rhamsa rhok mai khaw, rhalawt rhulcai rhok khat khat mai khaw buengrhuet a ben vaengah tah rhalawt la boe mai ni.
“‘Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean animal, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he shall be condemned guilty.
3 Hlang kah a tihnai dongkah khaw, a tihnai boeih dongah khaw a ben mai atah te nen te poeih uh coeng. Te te a phah akhaw a ming akhaw anih boe saeh.
“‘Or if he touches the uncleanness of man, whatever his uncleanness is with which he is unclean, and it is hidden from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be condemned guilty.
4 Hinglu pakhat loh a cungkuem dongah thaehuet ham neh voelphoeng ham a hmuilai neh khungrhap la a toemngam mai ni. Hlang he olhlo neh a khungrhap coeng dongah te te a phah a khaw a ming akhaw te pakhat dongah anih boe saeh.
“‘Or if anyone swears rashly with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatever it is that a man might utter rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be condemned guilty of one of these.
5 Tedae he rhoek khuikah khat nen khaw a boe mai akhaw te kah a tholh te loh phoe saeh.
It shall be, when he is condemned guilty of one of these, he shall yadah ·extend hands in confession· of that in which he has sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·:
6 Te vaengah a tholhnah neh a tholh bangla BOEIPA taengah a hmaithennah khuen saeh. Boirhaem la boiva khuikah tu a la mai khaw, maae la ca mai khaw om saeh. Te daengah ni a tholhnah dongah khosoih loh anih ham a dawth pa eh.
and he shall bring his fault incurring guilt offering to Adonai for his habitual sin ·missing the mark· which he has sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his habitual sin ·missing the mark·.
7 Tedae boiva kangna khaw a kut loh a na pawt atah a tholh bangla a hmaithennah te vahu phiknit mai khaw, vahui ca phiknit mai khaw, pakhat te boirhaem la, pakhat te hmueihhlutnah la BOEIPA taengah khuen saeh.
“‘If he can’t afford a lamb, then he shall bring his fault incurring guilt offering for that in which he has sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, to Adonai; one for a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering, and the other for a burnt offering.
8 Te phoeiah khosoih taengla khuen saeh lamtah boirhaem ham te nawn lamhma saeh. A lu te a rhawn lamloh paimaelh pah saeh lamtah boe boel saeh.
He shall bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one which is for the habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering, and wring off its head from its neck, but shall not sever it completely.
9 Te phoeiah boirhaem thii te hmueihtuk pangbueng dongah haeh saeh lamtah thii aka coih te boirhaem hmueihtuk kah khoengim taengah ci saeh.
He shall sprinkle some of the blood of the habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering on the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering.
10 Tedae a pabae te tah laitloeknah vanbangla hmueihhlutnah saii saeh. Te vaengah, a tholhnah neh a tholh dongah khosoih loh anih ham dawth pah saeh lamtah anih te khodawkngai saeh.
He shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the judgement; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his habitual sin ·missing the mark· which he has sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·, and he shall be forgiven.
11 Tedae vahu phiknit mai khaw, vahui ca phiknit mai khaw a kut loh a na pawt oeh atah, a tholh bangla a boirhaem ham nawnnah te vaidam cangnoek parha khuen saeh. Te tah boirhaem la a om dongah a soah situi bueih boel saeh lamtah hmueihtui khaw tloeng thil boel saeh.
“‘But if he can’t afford two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he shall bring his offering for that in which he has sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·, one tenth of an ephah [an omer; 2.3 q; 2.2 L] of fine flour for a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering. He shall put no oil on it, and he shall not put any frankincense on it, for it is a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering.
12 Te vaengah khosoih taengla khuen saeh lamtah kamhoeinah te khosoih loh a kut dongah a bae mawk la paco saeh. Te phoeiah boirhaem te BOEIPA hmueihtuk kah hmaihlutnah soah phum saeh.
He shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it as the memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, on the offerings of Adonai made by fire. It is a habitual sin ·miss the mark· offering.
13 Te daengah ni te khuikah pakhat nen khaw a tholh vanbangla a tholhnah dongah khosoih loh anih ham a dawth pah vetih anih te khodawk a ngai eh. Tedae khosaa bangla khosoih hamla om saeh.
The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his habitual sin ·missing the mark· that he has sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)· in any of these things, and he will be forgiven; and the rest shall be the priest’s, as the meal offering.’”
14 BOEIPA loh Moses a voek tih,
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
15 “Hinglu pakhat loh tholh tih BOEIPA taengah boekoeknah la boe a koek mai ni. Te vaengah hnokhueh neh kut khoom kawng dongah a imben taengah a basa atah, huencannah neh a imben te a hnaemtaek atah,
“If anyone commits a violation, and sins ·errs (the standard goal)· that is an unintentional mistake sin ·error·, in the holy things of Adonai; then he shall bring his fault incurring guilt offering to Adonai, a ram without defect from the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is 0.4 oz; 11.34 g), for a fault incurring guilt offering.
16 Hmuencim dongah lai a hmuh te a sah phoeiah panga neh thap saeh lamtah khosoih taengla thak saeh. Te daengah ni khosoih loh anih kah hmaithennah ham te tutal neh a dawth pah vetih anih te khodawk a ngai eh.
He shall make restitution for that sin ·err (from the standard goal)· which he has done wrong in the holy thing, and shall add a fifth part to it, and give it to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the fault incurring guilt offering, and he will be forgiven.
17 Hinglu pakhat loh BOEIPA olpaek khat khat khuikah saii pawt koi te pakhat khaw a saii tholh coeng dae a boe te khaw a ming pawt atah amah kathaesainah te phuei van saeh.
“If anyone sins ·errs (the standard goal)· against any the mitzvot ·instructions· of Adonai concerning things which should not be done, though he didn’t know it, yet he is condemned guilty, and shall bear his depravity (moral evil).
18 Te vaengah a phu aka ting boiva khuikah tutal a cuemthuek te khosoih taengah hmaithennah la khuen saeh. Te daengah ni anih loh ming pawt tih tohtamaeh la a taengphael te khosoih loh anih ham a dawth pah vetih anih te khodawk a ngai eh.
He shall bring a ram without defect from of the flock, according to your estimation, for a fault incurring guilt offering, to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning the unintentional mistake sin ·error· in which he deviated in mental error, unintentional sin ·error·, and he will be forgiven.
19 He tah a boe, a boe vaengah BOEIPA taengkah a saii hmaithennah ni,” a ti nah.
It is a fault incurring guilt offering. He is certainly condemned guilty condemned guilty before Adonai.”
