1 BOEIPA loh Moses neh Aaron te a voek tih,
And Yahweh spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying unto them:
2 “Israel ca rhoek te voek rhoi lamtah, diklai hmankah rhamsa boeih khuiah na caak uh ham mulhing he thui pah.
Speak ye unto the sons of Israel saying, —These are the living things which ye may eat, of all the beasts which are upon the earth:
3 Rhamsa khuiah a khomae rhak tih a khomae dongkah a khorhaek aka thal neh caknaih aka naih boeih te tah ca uh.
Whatsoever parteth the hoof and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud among beasts, that, may ye eat.
4 Tedae caknaih aka naih neh khomae aka rhak khuiah Kalauk he ca uh boeh. Caknaih a naih dae a khomae a rhak pawt dongah nangmih ham rhalawt.
Nevertheless, these, shall ye not eat, of them that chew the cud, and of them that part the hoof, —the camel, because though he, cheweth the cud, yet, the hoof, he parteth not, unclean, he is to you;
5 Saphih he khaw caknaih a naih dae a khomae a rhak pawt dongah nangmih ham rhalawt.
And, the coney, because, though he cheweth the cud, yet, the hoof, he parteth not, —unclean, he is to you;
6 Saveh khaw caknaih a naih dae a khomae a rhak pawt dongah nangmih ham rhalawt.
And the hare, because though she cheweth the cud, yet the hoof, she parteth not, —unclean, she is to you;

And, the swine, because though he parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, yet, the cud, he cheweth not, —unclean, he is to you;
8 A saa te ca uh boeh. A rhok khaw ben uh boeh. Te rhoek te nangmih ham rhalawt.
Of their flesh, shall ye not eat, and, their carcase, shall ye not touch, —unclean, they are to you.
9 Tui dongkah aka om boeih khuiah he ca uh. tui dongkah khaw, tuitunli dongkah khaw, soklong kah khaw a phae neh a lip aka om boeih tah ca uh.
these, may ye eat, of all that are in the waters, —all that have fins and scales in the waters, in the seas and in the rivers, them, may ye eat.
10 Tedae tuitunli dongkah khaw, soklong kah khaw, tui dongkah rhulcai boeih neh tui khuikah aka hing hinglu boeih khuiah a phae neh a lip aka om pawt boeih te nangmih ham konawhnah ni.
But, all that have not fins and scales, in the seas and in the rivers, of all that swarm in the waters, and of all the living souls that are in the waters, an abomination, they are unto you;
11 Nangmih ham konawhnah la a om uh dongah a saa te ca uh boeh. A rhok te khaw tuei uh.
and an abomination, shall they remain to you, —of their flesh, ye shall not eat, and their carcases, shall ye abhor.

Whatsoever hath not fins and scales in the waters, an abomination, it is unto you.

And, these, shall ye abhor of birds, they shall not be eaten, an abomination, they are, —the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey;
14 murhung neh maisi hui khaw,
and the vulture, and the falcon, after its kind;
15 vangak neh anih hui boeih,
every raven, after its kind;
16 Tuirhuk khaw, kirhoeng, khangkhoe, mutlo neh anih hui boeih,
and the female ostrich, and the male ostrich, and the sea-gull, —and the hawk after its kind;
17 thathawt, tuiliim, saelbu,
and the pelican and the gannet, and the bittern;
18 abuu, khosoek saelbu, tamcu,
and the swan and the vomiting pelican and the little vulture;
19 bungrho, kaikoi neh anih hui, thongpanai neh pumphak.
and the stork, and the parrot, after its kind, —and the mountain-cock and the bat.
20 Vaa bangla om tih a kho pali neh aka yuel rhulcai boeih khaw nangmih ham konawhnah ni.
Every creeping thing that flieth, that goeth on all-fours, an abomination, it is unto you.

22 Kaisih neh a hui, tangboeng neh a hui khaw, tungrhit neh a hui khaw, tangku neh anih hui khaw ca uh.
these of them, may ye eat: the swarming-locust after its kind, and the devouring locust after its kind, —and the chargol-locust after its kind, and the chagab-locust after its kind.
23 Tedae vaa bangla om tih a kho pali aka khueh rhulcai boeih tah nangmih ham konawhnah ni.
But every [other] creeping thing that flieth, which hath four feet, an abomination, it is unto you;

and whosoever beareth away aught of the carcase of them, shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.
26 Rhamsa boeih khaw a khomae rhak tih a khorhaek aka thal pawt neh caknaih aka naih pawt tah nangmih ham rhalawt. Te te aka ben boeih tah poeih uh ni.
As for every kind of beast which, though it parteth the hoof, yet is not cloven-footed nor cheweth the cud, unclean, they are unto you, —every one who toucheth them shall be unclean.
27 A kho pali neh aka yuel mulhing boeih khuiah a kut neh aka yuel boeih khaw nangmih ham rhalawt. A rhok aka ben boeih tah kholaeh duela a poeih ni.
And, all that go upon their paws, among all the living things that go on all-fours, unclean, they are unto you, —whoso toucheth the carcase of them, shall be unclean until the evening.
28 A rhok aka phuei long tah a himbai te til saeh. Hlaem duela a poeih uh vaengah tah amih te nangmih ham rhalawt.

and the ferret and the chameleon and the wall-lizard, —and the winding lizard, and the mole.
31 Rhulcai boeih khuiah nangmih ham aka rhalawt rhoek te a duek vaengah aka ben boeih khaw kholaeh duela poeih uh ni.
These, are they which are unclean to you among all that creep, —whosoever toucheth them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening;
32 A duek vaengah anih soah aka cungku boeih tah poeih uh ni. Te dongah thing hnopai boeih neh himbai khaw, maehpho mai khaw, tolkhui mai khaw, te rhoek neh bitat la a saii hnopai boeih te tah tui dongah duung saeh. Hlaem due poeih uh saeh lamtah caihcil saeh.
and, everything whereon any of them shall fall when they are dead shall be unclean—of any articles of wood, or cloth, or skin, or sackcloth, any article wherewith any work is done, —shall be put in water and shall be unclean until the evening, and then be clean,
33 Tedae amih khuikah te lai umam khat khat khuila a tlak atah a khui neh a khui kah boeih khaw a poeih dongah rhek dae uh laeh.
And, as for any earthen vessel whereinto any of them may fall, everything therein shall be unclean, and, the vessel itself, shall ye break in pieces.
34 Caak ham cakok khat khat te tekah am tui loh a pha thil atah a poeih coeng. Te dongah umam khat khat khui lamkah ok ham koi tui khaw boeih a poeih coeng.
Of all the food that may be eaten, that whereon shall come water, shall be unclean, —and, all drink which might be drunk in any [such] vessel, shall be unclean.

36 Tedae tuisih neh tangrhom tui tungnah a tlak thil atah tuicil la om mai cakhaw a rhok aka ben te a poeih.
Notwithstanding, a fountain or cistern wherein is a gathering of waters shall be clean, —but, he that toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean.
37 Tedae te cangti ballung boeih tah a rhok loh tlak thil cakhaw cuem ngawn dongah tue ngawn saeh.
And when any part of the carcase of them shall fall upon seed for sowing, which is to be sown, the same is, clean.

But, when water shall be put upon seed, and there shall fall thereon any part of the carcase of them, unclean, it is to you.

And, when any of the beasts which are yours for food shall die, he that toucheth the carcase of it shall be unclean until the evening.

And, he that eateth of the carcase of it, shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening, —he also that carrieth away the carcase thereof shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
41 ah aka luem rhulcai boeih khaw konawhnah, caak koi moenih.
And, any creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, an abomination, it is—it shall not be eaten.
42 A bung neh aka colh boeih, a kho pali neh aka van boeih khaw, a kho aka ping boeih khaw, diklai ah aka luem rhulcai boeih he tah konawhnah ni ca uh boeh.
Everything that goeth upon the belly, and everything that goeth upon all-fours, even to everything having many feet, as regardeth any creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, ye shall not eat them for, an abomination, they are.
43 Aka luem rhulcai boeih neh na hinglu te rhun uh boeh. Amih nen khaw poeih uh boel lamtah amih long khaw nang m'poeih uh boel saeh.
Do not make your persons abominable, with any creeping thing that creepeth, —neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should become unclean thereby.
44 Kai tah nangmih Pathen BOEIPA ni. Te dongah ciim uh lamtah ka cim bangla a cim la om uh. Te dongah diklai kah aka colh rhulcai boeih dongah na hinglu te poeih uh boeh.
For, I—Yahweh, am your God, therefore shall ye hallow yourselves and remain holy; for, holy, am, I,—therefore shall ye not make your persons unclean, with any creeping thing that crawleth upon the earth;
45 Nangmih kah Pathen la om ham Egypt khohmuen lamloh nangmih aka khuen khaw BOEIPA kamah ni. Te dongah kai ka cim bangla a cim la om uh.
for, I—Yahweh, am he that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, that I might become your God, —therefore shall ye be holy, for, holy, am, I.
46 He tah rhamsa neh vaa, tui dongkah aka hing tih aka colh hinglu boeih neh diklai dongkah aka luem hinglu boeih ham,
This, is the law of beast and of bird, and of every living soul that moveth in the waters, —and as to every soul that creepeth upon the earth:
47 rhalawt laklo neh cuemcaih laklo ah, caak ham mulhing laklo neh caak koi pawh mulhing laklo ah paekboe ham olkhueng ni,” a ti nah.
That ye may make a difference—between the unclean and the clean, —and between the living thing that may be eaten, and the living thing which may not be eaten.
