< Rhaengsae 1 >

1 Balae tih pilnam aka ping khopuei te amah bueng kho a sak. Namtom taengah a cungkuem te nuhmai bangla om tih, paeng taengkah boeinu saldong la poeh.
How is seated alone, the city that abounded with people, hath become as a widow, —She who abounded among the nations was a princess among provinces, hath come under tribute.
2 Khoyin ah rhap, rhap tih a mikphi loh a kam dongla long. Anih aka lungnah boeih khuiah khaw anih ham aka hloep om pawh. A hui boeih te anih taengah hnukpoh uh tih, anih ham thunkha la om uh.
She, weepeth sore, in the night, and, her tear, is on her cheek, She hath none to comfort her, of all her lovers, —All her friends, have betrayed her, have become her foes.
3 Judah te phacipphabaem neh thohtatnah cungkuem lamloh a poelyoe uh. Anih te namtom taengah om tih ngolbuel pataeng a dang moenih. Anih aka hloem boeih loh anih te longcaek ah a kae uh.
Carried away captive is Judah—because of oppression, and because of great servitude, She, hath remained among the nations, hath found no place of rest, —All her pursuers, have overtaken her, between straits.
4 Rhahdoe cangpoem ah khaw Zion longpuei kah khoning ah ha pawk uh pawh. A vongka khaw boeih pong coeng. A khosoih khaw huei uh coeng. A oila rhoek khaw pae uh tih amah te phaep uh.
The ways to Zion, are mourning, because none come to her appointed feasts, All her gates, are desolate, her priests, are sighing, —her virgins, are grieved, and, she, it is bitter for her.
5 A rhal te a lu la a om pah tih a thunkha khaw dingsuek uh. A boekoek a yet dongah BOEIPA loh a pae sak tih a ca rhoek te a rhal hmai ah tamna la cet uh.
Her adversaries have become chief, her foes, are at ease, for, Yahweh, hath grieved her, because of the multitude of her transgressions, —Her children, have gone into captivity, before the adversary.
6 A tanu khui lamloh Zion nu tah a rhuepomnah cungkuem khaw a coe pah coeng. A mangpa rhoek te rhangrhaeh bangla om uh tih luemnah hmu uh pawh. Te dongah aka hloem kah mikhmuh ah thadueng om kolla yong uh.
Thus hath gone forth from the daughter of Zion, all that adorned her, —Her princes have become like harts that have found no pasture, and have gone strengthless before the pursuer.
7 Jerusalem loh a phacipphabaem neh a airhoeng hnin ah tah hlamat kum kah khuehtawn cungkuem neh a om uh te a poek. A pilnam loh rhal kut dongah cungku tih anih te aka bom om pawh. Rhal loh anih a hmuh vaengah a rhawpnah te a nueih thiluh.
Jerusalem hath remembered in the days of her humiliation and her fleeings—all her precious things, which have existed from the days of old, —Now that her people have been falling into the hand of the adversary, with none to help her, the adversaries have seen her, have mocked over her sabbath-keepings.
8 Jerusalem a tholh te tholhnah coeng ni. Te dongah anih a thangpom khaw longhnawt la boeih poeh coeng. Anih kah a yah aka hmuh ham khaw haam uh. Amah khaw huei tih a hnuk la mael.
Jerusalem, hath grievously sinned, For this cause, unto exile, hath she been delivered, —All who used to honour her, have despised her, for they have descried her unseemliness, yea, she herself, hath sighed, and turned back.
9 A hnihmoi kah a tihnai neh a hmailong khaw poek pawh. Anih aka hloep a om van pawt ah khobaerhambae la suntla uh. BOEIPA aw kai kah phacipphabaem dongah thunkha rhoek a pantai khaw hmuh lah saw.
Her impurity, is in her skirts, She hath not remembered her hereafter, Therefore hath she come down wonderfully, none to comfort her, —Behold, O Yahweh, my humiliation, that the foe, hath made himself great.
10 A ngailaemnah cungkuem soah rhal loh a kut a duen. Namah kah hlangping taengah kun pawt ham na uen lalah a rhokso ah namtom a kun te a hmuh.
His hand, hath the adversary spread out, over all her precious things, —for she saw that, the nations, entered her sanctuary, as to whom thou didst command they should not enter—in the convocation—unto thee!
11 A pilnam te boeih huei uh. Buh a tlap uh tih a khuehtawn a paek uh. A hinglu hlawt ham ni a ngailaemnah khaw caak la a thung. BOEIPA so lamtah a hnom ham ka om he paelki lah.
All her people, are sighing, seeking bread, They have given their precious things for food, to bring back life, —Behold, O Yahweh, and discern, that I have become worthless.
12 Longpuei kah aka khum boeih ke paelki uh lamtah so uh lah, kai kah nganboh bangla nganboh aka khueh nangmih ah a om moenih. Te te a thintoek thinsa hnin ah BOEIPA loh kai soah a poelyoe tih m'pae sak.
Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Look around and see, whether there is pain like my pain, which is severely dealt out to me, —in that Yahweh, hath caused grief, in the day of the glow of his anger?
13 Hmuensang lamkah ka rhuh khuilah hmai han tueih. Ka kho ham lawk a tung tih a man sak dongah kai he a hnuk la m'mael sak. Hnin at puet ah kai he pumthim hainak neh aka pong la n'khueh.
From on high, sent he fire, among my bones, and laid them prostrate, —He spread out a net for my feet, he made me turn back, he made me desolate, all the day, faint.
14 Ka boekoek hnamkun te a kut neh a hlin tih ka rhawn dongla a pawk vaengah rhap a cuet. Ka thadueng a tangdawt sak tih kai aka thoh thai pawt kah kut dongah Boeipa loh kai n'khueh.
The yoke of my transgressions, hath been bound, by his hand—They have intertwined themselves, have come up on my neck, it hath paralysed my strength, —My Lord, hath delivered me, into the hands of those against whom I cannot rise up.
15 Ka boei cungkuem khaw ka kotak ah tah Boeipa loh a suntlae coeng. Ka tongpang rhoek neet ham kai he tingtunnah ng'hueh thil. Judah nu oila te ka Boeipa loh misur rhom ah a nook.
My Lord, hath flouted at all my magnates, in my midst, He hath called against me a host, to crush my young men, —A winepress, hath My Lord trodden, to the virgin, the daughter of Judah.
16 Te dongah kai kamah mik khaw rhap tih ka mik lamkah tui a suntla. Kai aka hloep tih hinglu aka mael sak khaw kai lamloh lakhla coeng. Ka ca rhoek aka om khaw thunkha loh a et tih pong uh.
For these things, am, I, weeping, Mine eye, mine eye, is running down with waters, for, far from me, is any who could comfort, could bring back my life, —My sons are amazed, for strong is the foe.
17 Zion loh a kut te a phuel dae anih te hloep pawh. A kaepvai kah a rhal te BOEIPA loh Jakob ham a uen coeng dongah Jerusalem khaw amih lakli ah pumom la poeh.
Zion, hath spread forth, her hands, there is none to comfort her, Yahweh, hath given command, respecting Jacob, unto them who surround him—his adversaries, —Jerusalem, hath become as a removed woman, in their midst.
18 BOEIPA amah tah dueng dae a ol te ka koek oeh. Pilnam aw, pilnam boeih aw hnatun uh laeh. Ka oila neh ka tongpang rhoek loh tamna la a caeh kah ka nganboh he hmu uh lah.
Righteous is Yahweh, for, against his bidding, had I rebelled, —Hear, I pray you, all ye peoples, and see my pain, My virgins and my young men, have gone into exile.
19 Amih te ka lungnah la ka khue dae kai m'phok uh. Khopuei kah ka khosoih rhoek neh patong rhoek loh amamih caak a tlap uh pangthuem ah pal uh tih a hinglu te a mael puei uh.
I called to my lovers, they, deceived me, My priests and mine elders, in the city, have breathed their last, —for they sought them food, that they might bring back their life.
20 BOEIPA aw kai taengkah puencak he hmu lah. Ka ko tah noong tih ka khui ah ka lungbuei a maelh. A koek khaw ka koek oeh coeng dongah imkhui kah dueknah bangla kawtpoeng ah cunghang loh a cakol sak.
See, O Yahweh, that I am in distress, Mine inward parts, are in ferment, My heart is turned within me, for I have obstinately rebelled, —Without, bereaveth the sword, Within, is like death,
21 Ka huei te a yaak uh dae kai he n'hloep moenih. Ka thunkha boeih loh ka yoethae he a yaak uh vaengah ngaingaih uh. Namah ham na saii tih na khue khohnin na pha vaengah kai bangla om uh bitni.
They have heard—that, sighing am, I, [and am saying] —There is none to comfort me, All my foes, —having heard of my calamity—have rejoiced, because, thou, hast done it, —thou hast brought in the day thou didst proclaim, So let them become like me.
22 Amih kah boethae cungkuem te na mikhmuh ah phoe saeh. Kai taengah na poelyoe bangla amih te poelyoe van. Ka boekoek cungkuem dongah ka hueinah khaw yet tih ka lungbuei hal coeng.
Let all their wickedness, come in, before thee, and deal thou severely with them, according as thou hast dealt severely with me, for all my transgressions; for many are my sighs, and, my heart, is sick.
