1 Te vaengah Ephraim tlang lamkah hlang pakhat, a ming ah Mikhaiah te om.
And there is a man of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name [is] Micah,
2 Te vaengah a manu taengah, “Nang taengkah cak thawngkhat yakhat a loh dongah nang n'tap coeng. Ka hna ah khaw, 'Cak te kamah taengla ka loh ne,’ a ti,” a ti nah. Te dongah a manu loh, “BOEIPA rhangneh ka ca a yoethen,” a ti.
and he saith to his mother, 'The eleven hundred silverlings which have been taken of thine, and [of which] thou hast sworn, and also spoken in mine ears; lo, the silver [is] with me, I have taken it;' and his mother saith, 'Blessed [is] my son of Jehovah.'
3 Te dongah cak thawngkhat yakhat te a manu taengla a bal hatah a manu loh, “Ka kut lamkah cak te ka ca kah mueithuk neh mueihlawn saii nah ham BOEIPA taengah ka hoep rhoela ka hoep coeng. Te dongah namah taengla kam mael pawn ni,” a ti nah.
And he giveth back the eleven hundred silverlings to his mother, and his mother saith, 'I had certainly sanctified the silver to Jehovah, from my hand, for my son, to make a graven image, and a molten image; and now, I give it back to thee.'
4 Te dongah a manu taengla a mael tangtae cak te a manu loh a loh. Cak yakhat te, mueithuk aka saii tih mueihlawn aka hlawn, Mikhaiah im kah aka om taengah a paek.
And he giveth back the money to his mother, and his mother taketh two hundred silverlings, and giveth them to a refiner, and he maketh them a graven image, and a molten image, and it is in the house of Micah.
5 Tekah hlang Maikah amah taengah pathen im pakhat om. Te dongah hnisui neh sithui te a saii tih a ca rhoek khui lamkah pakhat kut dongah a poem sak phoeiah amah kah khosoih la a khueh.
As to the man Micah, he hath a house of gods, and he maketh an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrateth the hand of one of his sons, and he is to him for a priest;
6 Te vaeng tue ah Israel he manghai a khueh pawt dongah hlang boeih loh a mik dongkah a thuem sak bangla a saii.
in those days there is no king in Israel, each that which is right in his own eyes doth.
7 Te vaengah Judah kho Bethlehem lamkah Judah koca cadong pakhat om tih anih khaw Levi la a om dongah te ah te pah van.
And there is a young man of Beth-Lehem-Judah, of the family of Judah, and he [is] a Levite, and he [is] a sojourner there.
8 Judah Bethlehem khopuei lamkah hlang te cet tih a pah nah te a toem tih a longpuei a thuep hatah Ephraim tlang kah Maikah im la pawk.
And the man goeth out of the city, out of Beth-Lehem-Judah, to sojourn where he doth find, and cometh to the hill-country of Ephraim, unto the house of Micah, to work his way.
9 Te vaengah anih te Maikah loh, “Me lamkah lae na thoeng,” a ti nah hatah, “Kai he Judah Bethlehem lamkah Levi ni, te dongah pah nah te toem ham ka caeh dae he,” a ti nah.
And Micah saith to him, 'Whence comest thou?' and he saith unto him, 'A Levite [am] I, of Beth-Lehem-Judah, and I am going to sojourn where I do find.'
10 Te dongah anih te Maikah loh, “Kai taengah khosa mai lamtah kai hamla a pa banghui neh khosoih lam khaw om mai. Nang te kamah loh kum khat ah cak a laang, himbai phu, na thahuelnah khaw kam paek bitni,” a ti nah. Te dongah Levi te khaw pahoi kun.
And Micah saith to him, 'Dwell with me, and be to me for a father and for a priest, and I give to thee ten silverlings for the days, and a suit of garments, and thy sustenance;' and the Levite goeth [in].
11 Levi khaw hlang neh khosak ham a mulmet coeng dongah a capa pakhat bangla anih taengah cadong la a om pah.
And the Levite is willing to dwell with the man, and the young man is to him as one of his sons.
12 Levi kut te khaw Maikah loh a khueh pah coeng dongah cadong khaw anih kah khosoih la a om pah tih Maikah im ah kho a sak.
And Micah consecrateth the hand of the Levite, and the young man is to him for a priest, and he is in the house of Micah,
13 Te daengah Maikah loh, “Levi he ka khosoih la om coeng tih kai hamla BOEIPA then tila ka ming coeng,” a ti.
and Micah saith, 'Now I have known that Jehovah doth good to me, for the Levite hath been to me for a priest.'
