< Laitloekkung 13 >
1 BOEIPA mikhmuh ah boethae saii ham te Israel ca rhoek loh koep a koei uh. Te dongah amih te BOEIPA loh kum sawmli khuiah Philisti kut dongah a paek.
And the sons of Israel again did the thing that was wicked in the sight of Yahweh, —so Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of the Philistines, forty years.
2 Te vaengah Dan koca Zorah hlang pakhat te om tih a ming tah Manoah ni. Tedae a yuu te yaa tih ca cun pawh.
And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, and, his name, was Manoah; and, his wife, was barren, and had borne no child.
3 Tedae BOEIPA kah puencawn loh a yuu taengah a phoe pah tih, “Na yaa tih ca na cun pawt cakhaw na vawn vetih capa na cun pawn ni he.
And the messenger of Yahweh appeared unto the woman, —and said unto her—Lo! I pray thee, thou, art barren, and hast borne no child, but thou shalt conceive, and shalt bear a son.
4 Te dongah misurtui khaw, yu khaw na ok pawt ham neh rhalawt boeih tah na caak pawt ham te ngaithuen laeh.
Now, therefore, beware, I pray thee, and do not drink wine or strong drink, —nor eat anything unclean;
5 Na vawn vetih capa na cun vaengah thiha loh anih lu dongla pawk boel saeh ne. Bungko khui lamloh camoe te Pathen kah hlangcoelh la om vetih Philisti kut lamkah Israel khang ham khaw anih loh a tong ni,” a ti nah.
for lo! thou, art about to conceive and bear a son, and no, razor, shall come on his head, for, one separate unto God, shall the boy be from his birth, —and, he, shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
6 Te phoeiah huta cet tih a va taengah, “Pathen kah hlang loh kai taengah halo tih, a mueimae khaw Pathen puencawn kah a mueimae bangla a rhih om tloe. Anih te me lamkah ha pawk khaw ka dawt pawt tih a ming khaw kai taengah thui van pawh.
So the woman came in, and told her husband, saying, A man of God, came unto me, and, his, appearance, was as the appearance of the messenger of God, reverend exceedingly, —and I asked him not whence he was, and, his name, he told me not.
7 Tedae kai taengah, 'Na vawn vetih capa na cun ni. Te dongah misur khaw, yu khaw, o boel lamtah a ti a hnai boeih te ca boeh, camoe te bungko khui lamloh a duek hnin duela Pathen kah hlangcoelh la om ni, ' a ti,” a ti nah tih a thui pah.
But he said unto me, Lo! thou art about to conceive, and bear a son, —now, therefore, do not drink wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean, for, one separate unto God, shall the boy be, from his birth until the day of his death.
8 Te phoeiah Manoah loh BOEIPA taengah thangthui tih, “Aw, Boeipa, Pathen hlang nan tueih te kaimih taengla koep ha pawk dae saeh. Te daengah ni ka cun ham camoe taengah ka saii te kaimih taengah n'thuinuet,” a ti nah.
Then Manoah made entreaty unto Yahweh, and said: Pardon, O My Lord! the man of God whom thou didst send, I pray thee, let him come again unto us, that he may teach us what we are to do, unto the boy that is to be born.
9 Manoah ol te Pathen loh a yaak dongah Pathen kah puencawn loh Manoah yuu taengla koep a pawk pah. Te vaengah anih te lohma ah om dae a va Manoah te anih taengah om pawh.
And God hearkened unto the voice of Manoah, —and the messenger of God came again unto the woman, as, she, was sitting in the field, Manoah her husband, not being with her.
10 Te dongah huta te koe yong tih a va taengah a thui pah. Te vaengah hlaemvai ah kai taengla aka pawk hlang te kai taengla tarha phoe,” a ti nah.
So the woman made haste, and ran, and told her husband, —and said unto him, Lo! the man, hath appeared unto me, who came the other day unto me.
11 Manoah khaw thoo tih a yuu hnukah cet tih hlang te a paan tih kai yuu taengah aka cal hlang te nang a?” a ti nah hatah, “Kai ni ue,” a ti nah.
Then Manoah arose, and followed his wife, —and came unto the man, and said unto him—Art, thou, the man that spake unto the wife? And he said—I am.
12 Te vaengah Manoah loh, “Na ol te pai pawn vetih camoe kah laitloeknah neh a bibi ta metlam a om eh?,” a ti nah.
And Manoah said, Now, let thy words come to pass, —What shall be the rule for the boy, and his work?
13 Te dongah Manoah te BOEIPA puencawn loh, “Na yuu taengah ka thui te mah boeih tuem saeh.
And the messenger of Yahweh said unto Manoah, —Of all that I said unto the woman, let her beware.
14 Misur sulyam lamkah aka thoeng boeih te ca boel saeh, Misurtui khaw, yu khaw o boel saeh, a tihnai boeih tah ca boel saeh, anih ka uen vanbangla boeih tuem saeh,” a ti nah.
Of nothing that cometh of the vine, may she eat, nor wine nor strong drink, let her drink, nor, anything unclean, let her eat, —all that I commanded her, let her observe.
15 Te vaengah BOEIPA kah puencawn te Manoah loh, “Nang uelh mai dae lamtah nang ham maae ca ng'ngawn dae mako,” a ti nah.
And Manoah said unto the messenger of Yahweh, —I pray thee, let us detain thee, that we may make ready for thy presence, a kid.
16 Tedae Manoah te BOEIPA kah puencawn loh, “Kai nan hloh cakhaw na buh ka ca mahpawh, tedae BOEIPA ham hmueihhlutnah na hmoel coeng atah nawn mai,” a ti nah. Te vaengah anih te BOEIPA puencawn ni tila Manoah loh ming pawh.
But the messenger of Yahweh said unto Manoah—Though thou detain me, yet will I not eat of thy food, and, though thou make ready an ascending-sacrifice, unto Yahweh, must thou cause it to ascend. For Manoah had not discerned that, the angel of Yahweh, he was.
17 Te phoeiah Manoah loh BOEIPA puencawn te, “Na olka bangla ha pawk vaengah nang kan thangpom uh ham akhaw na ming ulae?,” a ti nah.
Then said Manoah unto the messenger of Yahweh, What is thy name, —that, when thy word cometh to pass, we may do thee honour?
18 Tedae BOEIPA kah puencawn loh, “Ka ming te bahamlae nan dawt, he tah mangvawt ni,” a ti nah.
And the messenger of Yahweh said unto him, Wherefore is it, that thou shouldst ask after my name, —seeing that, it, is Wonderful?
19 Te daengah Manoah loh maae ca neh khocang te a loh tih BOEIPA ham lungpang dongah a tloeng. Tedae khobaerhambae la a saii ham khaw Manoah neh a yuu loh a hmuh rhoi.
So Manoah took the kid, and the meal-offering, and caused them to ascend upon the rock unto Yahweh, who was about to do, wondrously, while Manoah and his wife were looking on.
20 Te vaengah hmaihluei te hmueihtuk lamloh vaan la luei tih hmueihtuk hmaihluei khuiah BOEIPA puencawn khaw luei hang. Manoah neh a yuu loh a hmuh vaengah a maelhmai neh diklai la bakop rhoi.
And it came to pass, when the flame ascended from off the altar, towards the heavens, that the messenger of Yahweh ascended in the flame of the altar, —while Manoah and his wife were looking on. Then fell they on their faces, to the earth.
21 Te phoeiah Manoah taengah khaw Manoah yuu taengah khaw a phoe ham te BOEIPA puencawn loh khoep voel pawh. Te daengah anih te BOEIPA puencawn ni tila Manoah loh a ming.
And the messenger of Yahweh did no more appear unto Manoah or unto his wife. Then, Manoah knew that, the messenger of Yahweh, he was.
22 Te dongah Manoah loh a yuu taengah, “Pathen m'hmuh tih n'duek rhoe n'duek pawn ni,” a ti nah.
And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall, die, —for, upon God, have we looked.
23 Tedae anih te a yuu loh, “Mamih rhoi ngawn hamla BOEIPA loh ngaih koinih mamih kut lamkah hmueihhlutnah neh khocang te doe pawt vetih he rhoek boeih he mamih rhoi n'tueng mahpawh, a tue khaw tahae kah bangla mamih rhoi taengah n'yaak sak mahpawh,” a ti nah.
But his wife said unto him, If Yahweh had been pleased to put us to death, he would not have received at our hand, an ascending-sacrifice and a meal-offering, nor would he have shewed us all these things, —and, at such a time, have let us hear the like of this!
24 Te dongah a yuu loh camoe a cun tih a ming te Samson a sak. Camoe a rhoeng hang vaengah anih te BOEIPA loh yoe a then sak.
So the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson, —and the boy grew, and Yahweh blessed him.
25 Anih cahoeh ham te Zorah laklo neh Eshtaol laklo kah Mahanehdan ah BOEIPA Mueihla loh a tong.
And the spirit of Yahweh began to urge him to and fro, in the camp of Dan, —between Zorah and Eshtaol.
