The leaders of the tribe of Levi approached Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the leaders of the Israelite tribes.
2 Te vaengah Kanaan kho Shiloh ah amih te a voek uh tih, “Khosak thil ham khopuei rhoek neh ka rhamsa ham khocaak khaw kaimih taengah paek ham te BOEIPA loh Moses kut ah a uen coeng ta,” a ti uh.
They spoke to them at Shiloh in Canaan, saying, “The Lord gave instructions through Moses to give us towns to live in, and pastures for our flocks.”

So, following the Lord's instructions, the Israelites gave towns and pastures to the Levites from their own allocations.
4 Kohathi kah a hui a ko ham hmulung a naan vaengah Levi khui lamkah khosoih Aaron ca rhoek ham te Judah koca khui lamkah khaw, Simeon koca khui lamkah khaw, Benjamin koca khui lamkah khaw khopuei hlai thum te hmulung neh a nan pah.
The lot was cast for the families of the Kothaites. These Levites, descendants of Aaron, were allotted thirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
5 Kohath koca aka coih rhoek ham te Ephraim koca cako khui lamkah, Dan koca khui lamkah, Manasseh koca hlangvang khui lamkah kho parha te hmulung neh a naan pah.
The remaining families of the descendants of Kothah were allotted ten towns from the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
6 Gershon ca rhoek ham khaw Issakhar koca cako khui lamkah, Asher koca khui lamkah, Naphtali koca khui lamkah, Bashan ah Manasseh koca hlangvang khui lamkah khopuei hlai thum te hmulung neh a naan pah.
The families of the descendants of Gershon were allotted thirteen towns from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the half-tribe of Manasseh living in Bashan.
7 Merari ca rhoek ham khaw a hui a ko tarhing ah Reuben koca khui lamkah, Gad koca khui lamkah Zebulun koca khui lamkah khopuei hlai nit te a suem pah
The families of the descendants of Merari were allotted twelve towns from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
8 Te tlam te BOEIPA loh Moses kut ah a uen vanbangla khopuei rhoek neh a khocaak rhoek he Israel ca rhoek loh Levi rhoek ham hmulung neh a suem pauh.
So the Israelites gave the Levites by lot these towns and pastures, as the Lord had instructed through Moses.
9 A ming la a khue khopuei rhoek te Judah ca rhoek cako neh Simeon ca rhoek cako khui lamkah khaw a suem pauh.
They gave from the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Simeon the following towns, specifically named,
10 hmulung lamhma loh a nan coeng dongah Aaron ca rhoek ham te Kohathi huiko khui lamkah neh Levi ca rhoek khui lamkah khaw a om pah.
to the families of the Kothaites, descendants of Aaron, of the tribe of Levi, since the first lot fell to them:
11 Judah tlang ah Anak napa Kiriatharba kah Hebron neh a kaepvai kah a khocaak te amih ham a suem pauh.
Kiriath-arba (or Hebron), in the hill country of Judah, together with the pastures around it. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)
12 Tedae khopuei vangca kah lohma te tah Jephunneh capa Kaleb taengah a khohut la a paek uh.
But the more distant fields from the town and the villages had been given to Caleb son of Jephunneh to own.
13 Hlang aka ngawn kah hlipyingnah khopuei la Hebron neh a khocaak, Libnah neh a khocaak,
They gave to the descendants of Aaron the priest the following towns and their pastures: Hebron (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Libnah,
14 Jattir neh a khocaak, Eshtmoa neh a khocaak,
Jattir, Eshtemoa,
15 Holon neh a khocaak, Debir neh a khocaak,
Holon, Debir,
16 Ayin neh a khocaak, Juttah neh a khocaak, Bethshemesh neh a khocaak, amih koca rhoi khui lamkah khopuei pako,
Ain, Juttah, and Beth-shemesh—nine towns from these two tribes.
17 Benjamin koca rhoek khui lamkah Gibeon neh a khocaak, Geba neh a khocaak,
From the tribe of Benjamin the following four towns and their pastures: Gibeon, Geba,
18 Anathoth neh a khocaak, Almon neh a khocaak kho pali te khosoih Aaron ca rhoek taengah a paek uh.
Anathoth, and Almon.
19 Khosoih Aaron ca rhoek kah khopuei boeih he khopuei neh a khocaak bung hlai thum a lo pah.
So in total thirteen towns and their pastures were given to the priests, the descendants of Aaron.
20 Kohath ca rhoek khui lamkah aka hoei Levi Kohath ca rhoek kah a hui a ko, Ephraim koca rhoek lamkah ham khaw khopuei hmulung a om pah.
As for the remaining families of the children of Kothah from the tribe of Levi, they were given by lot four towns and their pastures from the tribe of Ephraim:
21 Te vaengah amih te hlang aka ngawn kah hlipyingnah khopuei Shekhem neh Ephraim tlang kah a khocaak, Gezer neh a khocaak,
Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Gezer,
22 Kibzaim neh a khocaak, Bethhoron neh a khocaak khopuei pali,
Kibzaim, and Beth-horon.
23 Dan koca rhoek khui lamkah Eltekeh neh a khocaak, Gibbethon neh a khocaak,
From the tribe of Dan, the following four towns and their pastures: Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
24 Aijalon neh a khocaak, Gathrimmon neh a khocaak khopuei pali,
Aijalon, and Gath-rimmon.
25 Manasseh koca hlangvang taeng lamkah Taanak neh a khocaak, Gathrimmon a khocaak khopuei panit,
From the half-tribe of Manasseh the following two towns and their pastures: Taanach and Gath-rimmon.
26 Kohath ca rhoek kah a hui a ko aka coih rhoek ham a pum la khopuei neh a khocaak parha a lo pah.
So in total ten towns and their pastures were given to remaining families of the descendants of Kothah.
27 Levi kah a hui a ko Gershon ca rhoek ham khaw Manasseh koca hlangvang taeng lamkah hlang aka ngawn kah hlipyingnah khopuei, Bashan ah Golan neh a khocaak, Beeshtarah neh a khocaak kho panit,
The families of the descendants of Gershon from the tribe of Levi received the following two towns and their pastures from the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), and Be-eshterah.
28 Issakhar koca rhoek taeng lamkah Kishion neh a khocaak, Daberath neh a khocaak,
From the tribe of Issachar the following four towns and their pastures: Kishion, Daberath,
29 Jarmuth neh a khocaak, Engannim neh a khocaak khopuei pali,
Jarmuth, and En-gannim.
30 Asher koca taeng lamkah Mishal neh a khocaak, Abdon neh a khocaak,
From the tribe of Asher the following four towns and their pastures: Mishal, Abdon,
31 Helkath neh a khocaak, Rhob neh a khocaak khopuei pali,
Helkath, and Rehob.
32 Napthali koca rhoek taeng lamkah Galilee ah Kedesh, hlang aka ngawn rhoek kah hlipyingnah khopuei neh a khocaak, Hammothdor neh a khocaak, Kartan a khocaak khopuei pathum,
From the tribe of Naphtali the following three towns and their pastures: Kedesh in Galilee (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Hammoth-dor, and Kartan.
33 A pum boeih la a hui a ko tarhing ah Gershon rhoek kah khopuei he khopuei hlai thum neh a khocaak rhoek te om.
So in total thirteen towns and their pastures were allotted to the families of Gershon.
34 Zebulun koca lamkah Levi la aka cul Merari ca rhoek kah a hui a ko rhoek ham khaw Jokneam neh a khocaak, Kartah neh a khocaak,
The families of the descendants of Merari, those remaining from the tribe of Levi, received the following four towns and their pastures from the tribe of Zebulun: Jokneam, Kartah,
35 Dimnah neh a khocaak, Nahalal neh a khocaak kho pali,
Dimnah, and Nahalal.
36 Reuben koca taeng lamkah Bezer neh a khocaak, Jahaz neh a khocaak,
From the tribe of Reuben the following four towns and their pastures: Bezer, Jahaz,
37 Kedemoth neh a khocaak, Mephaath neh a khocaak kho pali,
Kedemoth, and Mephaath.
38 Gad koca taeng lamkah Gilead Ramoth, hlang aka ngawn kah hlipyingnah khopuei neh a khocaak, Mahanaim neh a khocaak,
From the tribe of Gad the following four towns and their pastures: Ramoth in Gilead (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Mahanaim,
39 Heshbon neh a khocaak, Jazer neh a khocaak kho pali boeih,
Heshbon, and Jazer.
40 Levi huiko lamkah aka cul Merari ca rhoek kah a huiko khopuei boeih te kho hlai nit la hmulung loh a naan pah.
So in total twelve towns were allotted to the families of Merari, those remaining from the tribe of Levi.
41 Israel ca rhoek khohut lakli ah Levi khopuei rhoek he a pum boeih la a khocaak rhoek neh kho sawmli parhet lo.
The Levites received a total of forty-eight towns and pastures within the land of the Israelites.
42 Tekah kho rhoek te khopuei khopuei kah a kaep a vai ah kho tom boeih ham a khocaak khaw a om pauh.
Each of these towns had pastures around them.
43 A napa rhoek taengah paek ham a caeng khohmuen boeih te BOEIPA loh Israel taengah a paek tih a pang uh dongah a khuiah kho a sak uh.
And so the Lord gave to the Israelites all the land he had promised their ancestors. They took possession of it and settled there.
44 A napa rhoek taengah boeih a caeng vanbangla a kaep a vai ah BOEIPA loh a duem sak tih a mikhmuh ah a thunkha khuikah hlang pakhat long khaw a pai thil moenih. A thunkha boeih te BOEIPA loh amih kut ah a paek.
The Lord gave them peace on every side as he had promised their ancestors. Not a single one of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord had handed their enemies over to them to defeat.
45 Israel imkhui ham BOEIPA loh ol then a thui te ol pakhat khaw a dalh mueh la boeih soep.
Not a single one of the good things the Lord promised Israel had failed; everything had come true.
