< Johan 1 >
1 A tongcuek ah Ol om tih ol tah Pathen neh om. Te dongah ol tah Pathen ni.
IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word himself was with Aloha, and Aloha was the Word himself.
2 Anih tah a tongcuek ah Pathen neh om.
This was in the beginning with Aloha.
3 A cungkuem he anih rhangneh om tih anih pawt atah khat khaw om thai pawh.
Every thing by his hand was made; and without him also was not one thing made that was made.
4 Anih tah hing tih a khuiah hingnah om.
In him was life, and the life is the light of the sons of man;
5 Te phoeiah vangnah tah a hmuep khuiah sae tih a hmuep loh anih buem pawh.
and the Light himself in the darkness shineth, and the darkness perceived him not.
6 Te vaengah Pathen kah hlang tueih, a ming ah Johan te phoe.
There was a man who was sent from Aloha, his name (was) Juchanon.
7 Anih tah vangnah kawng te laipai ham, anih rhangneh hlang boeih loh a tangnah ham laipai la ha pawk.
He came for the testimony, to testify concerning the Light, that all men might believe through his ministry.
He was not the Light himself, but came to testify concerning the Light.
For that was the true Light that enlighteneth every man who cometh into the world.
In the world was he, and the world by his hand had been made, and the world knew him not.
11 Amah rhoek taengah a pawk pah dae, amah rhoek loh anih te doe uh pawh.
He came to his own, and his own received him not.
12 Tedae anih aka doe boeih neh, anih ming te aka tangnah rhoek tah Pathen ca la om ham saithainah a paek coeng.
But they who received him, he gave to them power, that the sons of Aloha they should become, to those who believe in his name.
13 Amih tah thii kah, pumsa huengaihnah nen moenih, hlang kah huengaihnah nen moenih, tedae Pathen kah a cun rhoek ni.
These, not from blood, nor from the will of the flesh, nor from the will of man, but from Aloha, are born.
And the Word flesh was made, and tabernacled with us; and we saw his glory, the glory as of the one-begotten who (was) from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 Johan loh anih kawng te a phong vaengah pang tih, “Kai hnukah aka pawk tah kai hmaiah om tih kai lakah lamhma la om'” ka ti te anih coeng ni,” a ti.
Juchanon testified concerning him, and cried, and said, This is he of whom I said, that he cometh after me, and was before me, because he is anterior to me.
16 A soepnah lamloh lungvatnah sokah lungvatnah khaw mamih loh boeih n'dang uh coeng.
And from his fulness we all have received, and grace for grace.
17 Moses lamloh olkhueng m'paek tih, lungvatnah neh oltak tah Khrih Jesuh lamloh ha thoeng.
For the law by the hand of Musha was given; but the truth and the grace were by Jeshu Meshicha.
18 Pathen te ana hmuh noek moenih, a napa kah rhang dongah aka om Pathen kah khueh duen amah tah tueng coeng.
ALOHA no man hath ever seen: the one-begotten God, he who is in the bosom of his Father, he hath declared him.
19 Jerusalem kah Judah rhoek loh khosoih rhoek neh Levi rhoek te Johan taengah a tueih uh tih, “Nang ulae?” tila a dawt uh. Te vaengah Johan kah a phong tah he coeng ni.
And this was the testimony of Juchanon, when the Jihudoyee sent to him from Urishlem priests and Levoyee to demand of him, Who art thou?
20 Te vaengah a phong tih a basa moenih. Te dongah, “Kai tah Khrih moenih, “tila a phong.
And he confessed, and denied not, but confessed, I am not the Meshicha.
21 Te vaengah amah te, “Te koinih ulae? Nang Elijah a?” a ti nauh. Tedae, “Kai moenih,” a ti nah. Nang te tonghma nim ca? a ti nah vaengah, “Moenih,” a ti nah.
And they asked him again, What then? art thou Elia? And he said, I am not. Art thou the Prophet? And he said, No.
22 Te dongah amah te, “U nim ca? kaimih aka tueih rhoek taengah ollannah ka paek uh hamla namah kawng te metlam na thui eh?” a ti nauh.
And they said to him, And who art thou? that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 Te daengah, “Kai tah tonghma Isaiah loh a thui bangla 'Boeipa kah longpuei te dueng uh laeh' tila khosoek ah aka pang ol ni,” a ti nah.
He saith, I am the voice which crieth in the wilderness, Make plain the way of the Lord, as said Eshaia the prophet.
But they who were sent were from the Pharishee.
Nang te Elijah moenih, tonghma bal moenih,” a ti uh.
And they demanded and said to him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Meshicha, nor Elia, nor the Prophet?
Juchanon answered and said to them, I baptize you with waters; but he standeth among you whom you know not:
27 Anih te kai hnukah ha pawk dae a khokhom rhui ka hlam ham pataeng a koihhilh la ka om moenih,” a ti nah.
he it is who cometh after me, and he was before me; he, the latchets of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose.
28 He rhoek he tah Jordan rhalvangan kah Bethany ah om. Te rhoek ah Johan loh a nuem khaw om coeng.
These things were done in Bethania, at the passage of the Jurdan, where Juchanon was baptizing.
29 A vuenhnin ah a taengla Jesuh ha pawk te a hmuh tih, “Pathen kah tuca ke, anih loh Diklai kah tholhnah te a phueih.
AND the day after, Juchanon seeth Jeshu, who was coming to him; and he said, Behold the Lamb of Aloha, who beareth the sin of the world!
30 Kai loh, 'Kai hnukah aka pawk hlang tah kai hmaiah om coeng, kai lakah lamhma la a om dongah,’ ka ti te tah amah coeng ni.
This is he concerning whom I said, After me cometh a man, and he was before me, because he is anterior to me.
31 Kai khaw amah he kana ming pawh. Tedae Israel taengah a tueng ham dongah ni amah ha pawk vaengah kai loh tui ah ka nuem,” a ti.
And I knew him not, but that he should be made known unto Isroel, therefore have I come with waters to baptize.
32 Te phoeiah Johan loh a phong tih, “Mueihla tah vahu bangla vaan lamkah ha rhum tih anih soah a om te ka hmuh coeng,” a ti.
And Juchanon testified and said, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven as a dove, and it remained upon him.
33 Amah te ka hmat moenih. Tedae tui ah nuem ham kai aka tueih loh kai taengah, “A soah mueihla rhum tih a om thil te na hmuh. Anih tah Mueihla Cim dongah aka nuem la om,” a ti.
And I knew him not: but he who sent me to baptize with water, he said to me, He upon whom thou seest the Spirit descend and remain, this baptizeth with the Spirit of Holiness:
34 Kai loh ka hmuh coeng dongah Pathen capa tah anih ni tite ka phong coeng.
and I saw, and bare witness that this is the Son of Aloha
35 A vuen ah Johan neh a hnukbang rhoek khuikah panit tah koep pai,
And the day after Juchanon stood, and two of his disciples;
36 Jesuh a caeh te a sawt doeah, “Pathen kah tuca ke,” a ti nah.
and, contemplating Jeshu as he walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of Aloha!
37 Te vaengah hnukbang panit loh anih kah a thui te a yaak rhoi tih Jesuh a vai rhoi.
And his two disciples heard him as he spake, and they went after Jeshu.
38 Jesuh te a mael vaegah amih rhoi a vai rhoi te a hmuh tih, “Balae na mae?” a ti nah. Te rhoi long khaw amah te, “Rhabbi, “Te tah saya ni a thuingaih a ti, melam na naeh?” a ti na rhoi.
And Jeshu turned (himself), and saw them coming after him, and said to them, Whom seek you? They say to him, Raban, where dwellest thou?
39 Amih rhoi te, “Ha lo lamtah so rhoi lah,” a ti nah. Te dongah cet rhoi tih a rhaeh nah te a hmuh rhoi. Tedae khonoek parha tluk a lo coeng dongah tekah khohnin ah tah amah taengah rhaeh rhoi.
He saith to them, Come and see. And they went and saw where he dwelt; and they were with him that day: and it was about the tenth hour.
40 Johan taengkah a yaak rhoi khuikah pakhat tah Simon Peter kah a manuca Andrew khaw om tih amah a vai rhoi.
Now one of those who heard Juchanon and went after Jeshu, was Andreas, the brother of Shemun.
41 Te long tah a maya Simon te a hmuh vaengah lamhma la, “Messiah Te tah Khrih ni a thuingaih, ka hmuh rhoi coeng,” a ti nah.
This saw first Shemun his brother, and said to him, We have found the Meshicha;
42 Anih te Jesuh taengah a khuen tih amah a hmuh vaengah Jesuh loh, “Nang tah Johan capa Simon ni, nang he Kephas (Te tah Peter tila a thuingaih) la n' khue ni,” a ti nah.
and he brought him to Jeshu. And Jeshu saw him, and said, Thou art Shemun bar Jona; thou shalt be called Kipha.
43 A vuen ah Galilee la caeh hamla a ngaih. Te vaengah Philip a hmuh tih Jesuh loh anih te, “Kai m'vai lah,” a ti nah.
AND the day following Jeshu willed to go forth into Galila. And he found Philipos, and said to him, Come after me.
44 Philip tah Peter neh Andrew kah a kho Bethsaida lamkah ni.
Now Philipos was from Beth-tsaida, from the city of Andreas and of Shemun.
45 Philip loh Nathanael te a hmuh vaengah a taengah, “Moses neh tonghma rhoek loh Olkhueng khuiah a daek, Nazareth kah Joseph capa Jesuh te ka hmuh uh coeng,” a ti nah.
Philipos found Nathanael, and said to him, Him of whom Musha in the law, and the prophets, did write we have found, (and) that Jeshu (is) he, the son of Jauseph who is from Natsrath.
46 Te vaengah Nathanael loh Philip taengah, “Nazareth lamkah a then khat khaw om thai a?” a ti nah. Philip loh amah te, “Halo lamtah so lah,” a ti nah.
Saith to him Nathanael, From Natsrath can any good thing be? Philipos saith to him, Come and see.
47 Jesuh loh amah taengah Nathanael ha pawk te a hmuh vaengah, “Israel taktak la ke anih dongah tuengkhuepnah om pawh,” tila anih te a thui.
And Jeshu saw Nathanael as he was coming to him, and said of him, Behold truly a son of Isroel who hath no guile in him.

Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabi, thou art the Son of Aloha himself, thou art the very King of Isroel.
A tanglue rhoek te na hmuh bitni,” a ti nah.
Jeshu saith to him, Upon my telling thee that I saw thee under the fig-tree, believest thou? Greater things than these thou shalt see.

He saith to him, Amen, amen, I say to you, Hereafter you shall see the heavens opened, and the angels of Aloha ascending and descending unto the Son of man.
