< Joba 33 >
1 Job, ka olthui hnatun dae lamtah ka ol boeih he hnakaeng thil laeh.
Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, and hearken to all my words.
2 Ka ka ong coeng he. Ka ka khuikah ka lai loh a thui.
Behold now, I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
3 Ka ol he ka lungbuei dueng lamkah tih ka hmuilai kah mingnah loh cimphan la a thui.
My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart; and that which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.
4 Pathen Mueihla loh kai n'saii tih Tlungthang kah hiil loh kai n'hing sak.
The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty given me life.
5 Kai thuung hamla na coeng mak atah tawn uh lamtah ka mikhmuh ah pai laeh.
If thou canst, answer thou me, set thy words in order before me, stand forth.
6 Pathen taengah kai he nang ka bangla ka om tih kai khaw dikpo lamkah ni m'pet.
Behold, I am toward God even as thou art; I also am formed out of the clay.
7 Kai he mueirhih moenih nang n'let sak mako. Ka kut long khaw nang n'nan thil mahpawh.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my pressure be heavy upon thee.
8 Tedae ka hna ah na thui tih olthui ol khaw ka yaak.
Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words;
9 “Ka cil tih boekoek ka khueh moenih. Ka caih tih kai taengah thaesainah om moenih.
'I am clean, without transgression, I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me;
10 Te cakhaw kai taengkah noihhainah a hmuh vaengah kai amah kah thunkha bangla a moeh.
Behold, He findeth occasions against me, He counteth me for His enemy;
11 Ka kho he hloong dongah a buen tih ka caehlong boeih a dawn,” na ti.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, He marketh all my paths.'
12 Tedae na tang moenih he. Pathen he hlanghing lakah a len dongah nang te kan doo.
Behold, I answer thee: In this thou art not right, that God is too great for man;
13 Balae tih amah te na ho. A ol te boeih n'doo moenih ta.
Why hast thou striven against Him? seeing that He will not answer any of his words.
14 Pathen loh pakhat la a thui dae a hmuhming pawt atah hnavoei la a thui.
For God speaketh in one way, yea in two, though man perceiveth it not.
15 Ih loh hlang a hnah vaengkah khoyin olphong mueimang ah khaw, thingkong dongkah a ngam vaengah khaw,
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
16 Hlang hna te a khui sak tih amih kah rhalrhingnah neh a daeng pah.
Then He openeth the ears of men, and by their chastisement sealeth the decree,
17 Hlang loh a khoboe lamkah a nong sak tih hlang lamkah koevoeinah a khuk pah.
That men may put away their purpose, and that He may hide pride from man;
18 A hinglu te vaam khui lamloh, a hingnah te pumcumnah loh a paan khui lamkah a hoeptlang.
That He may keep back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
19 A thingkong dongah nganboh neh a tluung tih tuituknah loh a rhuhrhong boeih te phat a thuek pah.
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and all his bones grow stiff;
20 A hingnah loh buh te khaw a hinglu loh hoehhamnah maeh khaw a lawt pah.
So that his life maketh him to abhor bread, and his soul dainty food.
21 A saa te caphoei cuk bangla mueihmuh ah a khah tih a rhuh a hmuh pawt khaw a ming sak.
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones corrode to unsightliness.
22 A hinglu loh vaam khuila, a hingnah te aka duek rhoek taengla pawk.
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
23 Anih kah duengnah te hlang taengah aka puen la thawngkhat lamkah pakhat ngawn tah amah taengah puencawn oldoe om khaming.
If there be for him an angel, an intercessor, one among a thousand, to vouch for a man's uprightness;
24 Te dongah anih te a rhen mai vetih, 'Tlansum ka dang tih hlan kah aka suntla khui lamloh anih he doek laeh,’ ti mai koinih.
Then He is gracious unto him, and saith: 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.'
25 A saa te camoe bangla noe vetih a cacawn tue vaengkah bangla saibawn suidae.
His flesh is tenderer than a child's; he returneth to the days of his youth;
26 Pathen taengah a thangthui vanbangla anih te a moeithen ta. A maelhmai te tamlung neh a hmuh vaengah tah anih te hlanghing taengah duengnah neh a mael sak.
He prayeth unto God, and He is favourable unto him; so that he seeth His face with joy; and He restoreth unto man his righteousness.
27 Hlang rhoek taengla a mae tih, “Ka tholh tih a thuem te a paihaeh sak dae kai taengah n'yook sak moenih.
He cometh before men, and saith: 'I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not.'
28 Kamah hinglu, hinglu van tah hlan a paan khui lamloh a lat. Te dongah ka hingnah neh a hingnah loh vangnah te hmu saeh.
So He redeemeth his soul from going into the pit, and his life beholdeth the light.
29 He boeih he Pathen loh hlang taengah voei nit voei thum a saii ne.
Lo, all these things doth God work, twice, yea thrice, with a man,
30 Hlan khui lamkah a hinglu te hingnah khosae neh tue hamla a mael sak.
To bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
31 Job nang hnatung lamtah kai ol he hnatun. Hilphah lamtah kai loh kan thui eh.
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me; hold thy peace, and I will speak.
32 Kai nan thuung ham ol a om atah thui lah. Nang tang sak ham ka ngaih dongah ni.
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me; speak, for I desire to justify thee.
33 Kai taengkah he na hnatun pawt atah hilphah lamtah nang te cueihnah kan cang sak bitni,” a ti nah.
If not, hearken thou unto me; hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.
