1 Te phoeiah Job a ka te a ang tih a khohnin te a tap.
After thus he opened Job mouth his and he cursed day his.

And he answered Job and he said.
3 Amah kah thang nah khohnin neh, “Tongpa a yom,” a ti hlaem khaw paltham mai saeh.
Let it perish [the] day [which] I was born on it and the night [which] it said he has been conceived a man.
4 Te khohnin te a hmuep la om palueng vetih, Pathen loh a so la toem pawt mako. Te dongah vangnah loh te soah sae boel saeh.
The day that let it be darkness may not he care for it God above and may not it shine forth on it daylight.
5 Te te hmaisuep neh dueknah hlipkhup loh suk saeh. A soah khomai yaal saeh lamtah, hlamhop hnin bangla let saeh.
Let them reclaim it darkness and deep darkness let it settle down over it cloud let them terrify it [the] darkness of day.
6 Tekah hlaem te a hmuep loh lo saeh lamtah kum khat kah khohnin dongah a kohoe boel saeh, hla taenah dongah khaw kun boel saeh.
The night that let it take it darkness may not it rejoice among [the] days of [the] year in [the] number of [the] months may not it come.
7 Tekah hlaem te pumhong la om saeh lamtah a khuiah omngaih laa cuen boel saeh ne.
There! the night that let it be barren may not it come a cry of joy in it.
8 Khohnin thae aka phoei thil tih, a coekcoe la Leviathan aka haeng loh, te te tap saeh.
Let them curse it cursers of a day the [ones] ready to rouse Leviathan.
9 Hlaemhmah aisi khaw hmuep saeh lamtah, khosae te lamtawn cakhaw sae boel saeh, mincang khosaeng te hmu boel saeh.
Let them grow dark [the] stars of twilight its let it wait for light and not and may not it look on [the] eyelids of dawn.
10 Ka bungko thohkhaih te a khaih mai vetih thakthaenah he ka mik lamloh a thuh mai kolla.
For not it shut [the] doors of womb my and it hid trouble from eyes my.
11 Balae tih bung khuiah ka duek pawh. Bungko lamloh ka thoeng tih ka pal hae.
Why? not from [the] womb did I die from [the] belly I came forth and I may expire?
12 Balae tih khuklu loh kai n'doe, balae tih rhangsuk loh n'khut.
Why? did they receive me knees and why? breasts that I will suckle.
13 Ka yalh to palueng koinih la ka ip mong vetih ka duem lah ni.
For now I lay down and I may be at peace I slept then - it is at rest to me.
14 Manghai rhoek neh a imrhong aka thoh diklai olrhoep rhoek taengla,
With kings and counselors of [the] earth the [ones who] rebuilt ruins for themselves.
15 Amih taengkah sui mangpa rhoek neh a im ah tangka aka hawn rhoek taengah.
Or with princes [whom] gold [belonged] to them those [who] filled houses their silver.
16 Rhumpu bangla n'thuh kanoek vetih vangnah aka hmuh noek pawh camoe rhoek bangla ka om pawt mako.
Or like a miscarriage hidden not was I? like children [who] not they have seen light.
17 Teah te halang rhoek loh khoponah a toeng uh tih thadueng aka bawt khaw pahoi duem.
There wicked [people] they cease turmoil and there they rest weary [ones] of strength.
18 Thongtla rhoek te rhenten rhalthal uh tih, tueihno ol ya uh pawh.
Together prisoners they are at ease not they hear [the] voice of a taskmaster.
19 Tanoe neh kangham khaw amah la om pahoi tih sal khaw a boei taeng lamloh sayalh coeng.
Small and great [is] there he and a slave [is] free from master his.
20 Balae tih thakthaekung taengah vangnah, hinglu khahing taengah hingnah a paek?
Why? does someone give to a sufferer light and life to [people] bitter of soul.
21 Dueknah hamla aka rhingda long khaw dang hae pawt tih kawn lakah te te a too.
Those [who] long for death and there not [is] it and they dug for it more than hidden treasures.
22 Phuel a hmuh uh vaengah omngaihnah neh a ngaingaih la a kohoe uh.
The joyful [people] to rejoicing they exult if they find [the] grave.
23 A longpuei te hlang ham tah a thuh dae a taengah Pathen loh a mak pah.
To a man whom way his it is hidden and he has made inaccessible God behind him.
24 Ka buh hmai ah ka hueinah ha pawk tih ka kawknah he tui bangla pha.
If before food my groaning my it comes and they poured forth like water cries of distress my.
25 Birhihnah neh ka birhih akhaw kamah m'vuei tih ka rhih nawn te khaw kamah taengah thoeng.
For a fear I feared and it came to me and [that] which I dreaded it came to me.
26 Ka dingsuek pawt tih ka mong pawh, ka duem pawt vaengah khoponah ha thoeng,” a ti.
Not I am at ease - and not I am at peace and not I am at rest and it has come turmoil.
