< Joba 12 >
Then Job answered and said,
2 Na pilnam khaw nangmih taengkah cueihnah a duek ham tueng pai.
“No doubt you are the people; wisdom will die with you.
3 Tedae kai khaw nangmih bangla thinko ka khueh. Nangmih lamloh ka yalh sut moenih. Te dongah u taengah nim he bang a om pawt eh?
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Indeed, who does not know such things as these?
4 Pathen taengah ka pang khaw a hui taengah nueihbu la ka om. A cuemthuek neh a dueng khaw nueihbu la a doo.
I am something for my neighbor to laugh at— I, one who called on God and who was answered by him! I, a just and blameless man—I am now something to laugh at.
5 Mongkawt kah kopoek ah yoethaenah he nueihbu la om tih a kho aka paloe ham a tawn pah bangla om.
In the thought of someone who is at ease, there is contempt for misfortune; he thinks in a way that brings more misfortune to those whose foot is slipping.
6 Rhoelrhak kah dap te dingsuek lah tih, Pathen kah a tlai thil khaw a ciip la om. Te long te a kut dongah Pathen a khuen.
The tents of robbers prosper, and those who provoke God feel secure; their own hands are their gods.
7 Tedae rhamsa rhoek te dawt laeh lamtah nang n'thuinuet bitni. Vaan kah vaa long khaw nang taengla ha puen bitni.
But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; ask the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you.
8 Diklai taengah khaw lolmang lamtah nang n'thuinuet vetih tuitunli kah nga loh nang hamla han tae bitni.
Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; the fish of the sea will declare to you.
9 He he BOEIPA kut loh a saii tila te boeih khuikah aka ming pawt te unim?
Which animal among all these does not know that the hand of Yahweh has done this?
10 A kut dongah mulhing boeih kah hinglu neh hlang pumsa boeih kah mueihla khaw om.
In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.
11 Lai caak a ten bangla olthui te hna loh a nuemnai moenih a.
Does not the ear test words just as the palate tastes its food?
12 Patong taengah cueihnah om tih khohnin aka sen te a lungcuei om.
With aged men is wisdom; in length of days is understanding.
13 A taengah cueihnah om tih a taengah thayung thamal, cilsuep neh lungcuei khaw om.
With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.
14 A koengloeng phoeiah tah thoh uh thai pawt tih hlang te a tlaeng phoeiah tah a ong pa uh thai moenih.
See, he breaks down, and it cannot be built again; if he imprisons someone, there can be no release.
15 Tui te a kueng tih kak coeng ke. Te te a hlah bal tih diklai a khuk.
See, if he withholds the waters, they dry up; and if he sends them out, they overwhelm the land.
16 Sarhi neh lungming cueihnah khaw amah hut, aka taengphael neh aka palang khaw amah hut.
With him are strength and wisdom; people who are deceived and the deceiver are both in his power.
17 Ol aka uen te khotling la a khuen tih laitloek rhoek te a yan.
He leads counselors away barefoot in sorrow; he turns judges into fools.
18 Manghai rhoek kah thuituennah a ah pah tih amih kah cinghen te hailaem a khih pah.
He takes off the chain of authority from kings; he wraps a cloth about their waists.
19 Khosoih rhoek te khotling la a khuen tih khangmai rhoek khaw a paimaelh.
He leads priests away barefoot in sorrow and overthrows mighty people.
20 A tangnah kah a ka khaw a baeh tih patong rhoek a omih khaw a loh pah.
He removes the speech of those who had been trusted and takes away the understanding of the elders.
21 Hlangcong rhoek soah nueihbu a hawk tih sokca cihin khaw hlong coeng.
He pours contempt upon princes and unfastens the belt of strong people.
22 Hmaisuep lamkah a dung khaw phoe coeng tih dueknah hlipkhup te vangnah khuila a khuen.
He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light.
23 Namtom te a puel sak phoeiah a milh sak. Namtom te a yaal tih a mawt.
He makes nations strong, and he also destroys them; He enlarges nations, and he also leads them along as prisoners.
24 Diklai pilnam boeilu kah lungbuei a doek pah tih amih te hinghong ah longpuei pawt la kho a hmang sak.
He takes away understanding from the leaders of the people of the earth; he causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no path.
25 Vangnah om pawt vaengah hmaisuep a phatuem uh tih yurhui bangla amih te kho a hmang sak.
They grope in the dark without light; he makes them stagger like a drunk man.
