< Jeremiah 47 >
1 Gaza Pharaoh a ngawn hlanah Philisti ham BOEIPA ol te tonghma Jeremiah taengla ha pawk.
The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before Pharaoh smote Gaza.
2 He ni BOEIPA loh a thui. Tlangpuei lamkah tui ha phul tih soklong la poeh coeng ke. A long vaengah khohmuen neh a khopuei boeih neh a khuikah khosa te a yo ni. Te vaengah hlang te pang vetih khohmuen kah khosa khaw boeih rhung ni.
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is in it; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.
3 A marhang lueng kah khomae kah rhetlonah ol ah, a leng te a lengkho hlangping hinghuennah ah, a napa rhoek te a kut a khanah lamloh a ca rhoek te hoihaeng uh thai mahpawh.
At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong [horses], at the rushing of his chariots, [and at] the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to [their] children for feebleness of hands:
4 Philisti pum rhoelrhak ham khaw, Tyre neh Sidon bom ham rhaengnaeng boeih te saii ham khohnin ha pai coeng. BOEIPA loh Kaptor sanglak kah Philisti kah a meet te a rhoelrhak coeng.
Because of the day that cometh to lay waste all the Philistines, [and] to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will lay waste the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
5 Gaza te lungawng la om vetih Ashkelon khaw hmata ni. A tuikol kah a meet te me hil nim na hlap ve?
Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off [with] the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
6 Anunae BOEIPA kah cunghang aih, mevaeng hil nim na mong pawt ve? Na capang khuila kun laeh, hoep uh lamtah kuemsuem laeh.
O thou sword of the LORD, how long [will it be] ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
7 Metlam na mong pai eh? BOEIPA loh Ashkelon ham te te a uen tih tuipuei langkaeng ham khaw pahoi a khueh coeng.
How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
