< Jeremiah 20 >
1 Jeremiah kah a tonghma ol te BOEIPA im kah rhaengsang hlangtawt khosoih Immer capa Pashur loh a yaak.
Now Pashhur the son of Immer the priest, who was chief officer in the house of the LORD, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things.
2 Pashur loh Tonghma Jeremiah te a taam tih BOEIPA im sang kah Benjamin vongka ah hloong a khoh thil.
Then Pashhur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, which was in the house of the LORD.
3 A vuen a pha vaengah Pashur loh Jeremiah te hloong lamloh a hlah. Amah te Jeremiah loh, “BOEIPA loh nang ming he Pashur lam voel pawt tih Missabib lamkah Magor lat han sui coeng,” a ti nah.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashhur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashhur, but Magor-missabib.
4 Te dongah BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Kai loh nang he namah ham neh na lungnah boeih ham khaw rhihnah la kang khueh he. A thunkha rhoek kah cunghang neh na mik loh a hmuh nawn ah cungku uh ni. Judah pum he Babylon manghai kut ah ka tloeng vetih amih te Babylon la a poelyoe ni. Te vaengah amih te cunghang neh a ngawn ni.
For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive to Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
5 He khopuei kah a khohrhang boeih neh a thaphu boeih, anih umponah boeih khaw ka paek pah ni. Judah manghai kah thakvoh boeih te a thunkha kut ah ka paek pah vetih a poelyoe pah ni. Amamih te a tuuk uh vetih Babylon la a khuen uh ni.
Moreover I will give all the riches of this city, and all the gains thereof, and all the precious things thereof, yea, all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.
6 Pashur namah neh na imkhui kah khosa boeih te tamna la na cet ni. Babylon na pha vaengah pahoi na duek vetih namah te pahoi n'up ni. Amih na lungnah boeih taengah na tonghma te khaw a hong ni.
And thou, Pashhur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and there shalt thou be buried, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied falsely.
7 BOEIPA aw, kai nan laem vanbangla n'laem coeng. Kai lakah na tanglue tih nan na coeng. Hnin takuem nueihbu la ka om tih a cungkuem dongah kai he n'tamdaeng coeng.
O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am become a laughingstock all the day, every one mocketh me.
8 Ka thui vawptawp van bangla kuthlahnah te ka doek tih rhoelrhanah khaw ka khue. Te dongah BOEIPA ol he kai taengah khohnin yungah kokhahnah ham neh soehsalnah ham ha thoeng.
For as often as I speak, I cry out; I cry, Violence and spoil: because the word of the LORD is made a reproach unto me, and a derision, all the day.
9 Amah poek boel saeh lamtah a ming neh koep ka thui boel eh ka ti. Tedae ka lungbuei ah hmai aka tak bangla om tih Ka rhuh khuiah khaw a cueh. Te dongah coeng voel pawt tih cangbam ham ka ngak coeng.
And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in mine heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I cannot [contain].
10 theetnah khaw muep ka yaak tih kaepkvai ah rhihnah la puen uh. Ka ngaimongnah hlanghing boeih khaw a taengah puen uh sih ka cungdonah aka dawn rhoek loh n'laem khaming. Te daengah ni amah te n'na uh vetih mamih kah tawnlohnah khaw anih soah n'khueh eh.
For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, [say] all my familiar friends, they that watch for my halting; peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
11 Tedae BOEIPA tah kai taengah hlanghaeng hlangrhalh la om coeng. Te dongah kai aka hloem rhoek te paloe uh vetih coeng uh mahpawh. A cangbam uh pawt dongah khak yak uh ni. Kumhal ah a mingthae te hnilh mahpawh.
But the LORD is with me as a mighty one [and] a terrible: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonour which shall never be forgotten.
12 Aka dueng te aka loepdak tih kuel neh lungbuei aka hmu caempuei BOEIPA aw ka tuituknah he nang taengah kam phoe coeng dongah amih sokah na tawnlohnah te ka hmuh bitni.
But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, that seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
13 BOEIPA te hlai uh. Khodaeng kah hinglu he thaehuet kut lamloh a huul coeng dongah BOEIPA te thangthen uh.
Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evil-doers.
14 Te khohnin ah ka om te thae a phoei coeng. A nu loh kai n'cun khohnin te yoethen om boel saeh.
Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
15 A pa taengah a phong vaengah, “Camoe tongpa nang ham a sak te a kohoe hoe saeh,” aka ti hlang te khaw thaephoei thil.
Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad.
16 Tekah hlang te BOEIPA loh a palet khopuei bangla om saeh lamtah kohlawt boel saeh, mincang ah a pang neh khothun tue ah a tamlung khaw ya saeh.
And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear a cry in the morning, and shouting at noontide;
17 Bung khuiah kai n'duek sak pawh. Te dongah a nu he kai taengah ka phuel la poeh tih a bung te kumhal duela vawn.
because he slew me not from the womb; and so my mother should have been my grave, and her womb always great.
18 thakthaenah neh kothaenah hmuh ham he balae tih bung khui lamloh ka thoeng? Te dongah ka khohnin he yahpohnah nen nim a thok ve.
Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
