< Jame 1 >

1 Pathen neh Boeipa Jesuh khrih kah sal James loh canglak mupoe koca hlainit taengah ka omngaih.
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 Ka manuca rhoeh noemcainah rhoepsaep na um uh te omngaihnah la boeih poek uh.
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.
3 Nangmih kah nuemnainah loh tangnah dongkah uehnah a thoeng sak te ming uh.
Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 Uehnah loh khoboe te a lungcuei la khueh saeh. Te daengah ni lungcuei neh hlangsoep la na om vetih na vawtthoek pawt eh.
But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 Nangmih khuiah khat khat loh cueihnah a vawt atah kohuet kolla hawt boeih aka pae Pathen taengah bih saeh lamtah anih te a paek bitni.
If any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him.
6 Tedae boelhkhoeh kolla tangnah neh bih saeh. Aka boelhkhoeh tah tuili kah tuiphu aka niknuk neh aka kilkul banghui ni.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 Tekah hlang loh boeipa taengkah pakhat khaw a dang ham la cai boel saeh.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.
8 Cikcok hlang tah rhoepsaep dongah a longpuei khaw likloek sut.
A man unsettled in his opinions [is] unstable in all his ways.
9 Tedae manuca aka tlayae long tah amah kah a sang neh pomsang saeh.
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 Kuirhang long khaw a mathoe neh thangpom seh. Anih khaw khopol rhaipai bangla khum ni.
But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 Khomik loh a linglai neh a thoeng vaengah khopol te koh. Rhaipai khaw rhul tih a maelhmai kah mueithen long khaw tlum. Kuirhang khaw a caehlong ah muei tangloeng.
For the sun hath no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and its flower falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Yoethen hlang long tah noemcainah a ueh. Ueppang la aka om long ni hingnah rhuisam te a dang eh. Te tah amah aka lungnah rhoek ham a kam pah coeng.
Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Noemcai vaegah Pathen loh n'noemcai ti boel saeh. Pathen ham tah a thae he hnalbat la om tih amah khaw a noemcai moenih.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 Cuekcawn hlang boeih tah amah kah hoehhamnah loh a payawk tih a yoek.
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
15 Hoehhamnah loh a cuen dongah tholhnah a cun. Tholhnah loh a ham vaengah dueknah a cun.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Thintlo ka manuca rhoek te n'rhaithi uh boel saeh.
Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Doedannah then boeih neh lungcuei kutdoe tah a so lamkah ni. Pa kah vangnah khui lamkah ha suntla coeng. Anih taengah poehlipnah neh hoilaenah mueihlip a om moenih.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 A kutngo khuiah thaihcuek pakhat la mamih om sak ham ni oltak kah a ngaih vanbangla a ol loh mamih n'cun.
Of his own will he hath begotten us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.
19 Ka thintlo manuca rhoek ming uh lah. Hlang boeih loh hnatun ham te voeiloe la, cal ham te a hnong a yai la, thintoek ham khaw a hnong a yai la om saeh.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 Hlang kah thintoek loh Pathen kah duengnah te a saii moenih.
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Te dongah khoboe rhong neh phayoenah dongkah baecoihnah te boeih hnawt uh. Na hinglu khang ham aka coeng thai mutue ol te muelhtuetnah neh doe uh.
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the ingrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 Ol aka rhoihkung la om uh lamtah aka yakung dawk loh amah te yoek uh boel saeh.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 Khat khat loh ol yakung la om tih a rhoihkung pawt atah, anih te hmaidan dongah a rhuirhong kah maelhmai aka dan hlang banghui ni.
For if any is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 Amah te hmat uh coeng dae a caeh nen tah metla a om khaw hnap a hmaai.
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and immediately forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 Tedae poenghalnah lungcuei olkhueng te aka so tih aka om thil, aka yakung te aka hnilhkung la om pawt tih khoboe neh aka rhoihkung, yoethen long tah a bibi neh om ni.
But he who looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [in it], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 Khat khat loh aka cuep la a ngai uh tih a ol a tuem kolla, a thinko a hmil a hmak atah, anih kah bawknah tah a honghi ni.
If any man among you seemeth to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain.
27 Pa neh Pathen hmaiah amih phacip phabaem khuikah cadah rhoek neh nuhmai rhoek te hip ham, amah neh amah Diklai lamkah cuemhmuet la cue uh he ni aka cuem aka caih bawknah la a om.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world.
