The upright perish, and no one lays it to heart. Men of chesed ·loving-kindness· are taken away, and no one considers that the upright is taken away from the evil.

He enters into peace. They rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.

5 Thingnu taeng neh thing hing hmui takuem kah aka haw, thaelvap thaelpang hmui kah soklong ah camoe aka ngawn rhoek aw.
you who inflame yourselves among the oaks, under every green tree; who kill the children in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks?
6 Na hamsum tah soklong longhnal dongah om lah ko. Amah te ni nang kah hmulung rhoe pai. Te rhoek taengah tuisi na bueih tih khocang na nawn lalah ko ka hlawt het aya te?
Among the smooth stones of the valley is your portion; they, they are your lot. You have even poured a drink offering to them. You have offered an offering. Shall I be appeased for these things?
7 Tlang sang ah na thingkong te na phaih cakdawk van tih hmueih ngawn hamla na cet bal pueng.
On a high and lofty mountain you have set your bed. You also went up there to offer sacrifice.
8 Thohkhaih hael neh rhungsut dongah namah poekkoepnah na khueh. Kai taeng lamkah phoeiah tah a tling la na van tih na thingkong te amih taengah a ah -oem la na khueh pah. A thingkong te na lungnah tih a kut te na hmuh pah.
You have set up your memorial behind the doors and the posts; for you have exposed yourself to someone besides me, and have gone up; you have enlarged your bed, and made you a covenant with them. You 'ahav ·affectionately loved· what you saw on their bed.

10 Na longpuei te puh tih na kohnue dae, 'vi uh coeng, 'ti boeh. Na kut dongkah hingnah na hmuh coeng dongah na kothae sak boeh.
You were wearied with the length of your ways; yet you didn’t say, ‘It is in vain.’ You found a reviving of your strength; therefore you were not faint.
11 Unim na mawn thil tih na rhih. Na laithae dongah kai he nan poek pawt tih na lungbuei ah na khueh moenih. Kai nan rhih pawt khaw khosuen lamloh ka ngam dongah moenih a?
“Whom have you dreaded and feared, so that you lie, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to your heart? Haven’t I held my peace for a long time, and you don’t fear me?
12 Na duengnah neh na khoboe te kamah loh kan yan vetih nang n'hoeikhang sak uh mahpawh.
I will declare your righteousness; and as for your works, they will not benefit you.
13 Na pang vaengah nang te n'huul uh saeh. Na coicip te khaw a pum la khohli loh a voeih a honghi a loh ni. Tedae kai dongah aka ying tah khohmuen a pang vetih ka tlang cim khaw a pang ni.
When you cry, let those whom you have gathered deliver you; but the wind will take them. A breath will carry them all away: but he who takes refuge in me will possess the land, and will inherit my holy mountain.”
14 Te vaengah, “Picai uh, picai uh, longpuei te saelh uh. Ka pilnam longpuei kah hmuitoel te khoel uh.

For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls whom I have made.

I was angry because of the depravity (moral evil) of his covetousness, and struck him; I hid myself and was angry; and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.
18 A khosing ka hmu cakhaw anih te a hoeih sak vetih amah te ka mawt ni. Rhahdoe cangpoem ah khaw anih te hloephoelhnah neh ka thuung ni.
I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.
19 A lai thaih kah a thaih khaw, rhoepnah he khohla neh khoyoei kah rhoepnah la ka suen,” a ti. BOEIPA loh, “Anih ka hoeih sak ni,” a ti.
I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near,” says Adonai; “and I will heal them.”
20 Halang tah tuili bangla niknuk tih mong thai pawh. Te vaengah tui loh tuinu neh tangnong te pong a loe.
But the wicked are like the troubled divorced sea; for it can’t rest, and its waters dirge up mire and mud.
21 Halang rhoek ham rhoepnah a om pawt te ka Pathen loh a thui.
“There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”
