< Isaiah 48 >
1 Israel ming la a khue Jakob imkhui neh Judah tui lamkah aka thoeng tih Yahovah ming neh aka toemngam rhoek loh hnatun uh. Israel Pathen a phoei uh khaw oltak nen pawt tih duengnah nen bal moenih.
“Sh'ma ·Hear obey· this, house of Jacob [Supplanter], you who are called by the name of Israel [God prevails], and have come out of the waters of Judah [Praised]. You swear by Adonai’s name, and make mention of the God of Israel [God prevails], but not in truth, nor in righteousness
2 Khopuei cim lamloh khue uh tih Israel Pathen, caempuei BOEIPA kah a ming dongah hangdang uh.
(for they call themselves citizens of the holy city, and rely on the God of Israel [God prevails]; Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] is his name):
3 Hnukbuet lamloh ka puen daengrhae coeng tih ka ka lamloh ha thoeng coeng. Te dongah amih te ka yaak sak tih thaeng ka saii vaengah ni a phoe uh pueng.
I have declared the former things from of old; yes, they went out of my mouth, and I sh'ma ·heard obeyed, declared· them. I did them suddenly, and they happened.
4 Na mangkhak khaw, na rhawn kah thi tharhui te khaw, na tal kah rhohum te khaw ka ming ta.
Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your brow bronze;
5 Te dongah ni hlamat lamloh nang taengah ka puen tih, a puek hlanah nang kan yaak sak. Ka tloh a saii tih ka mueithuk neh ka tuisi neh amih a uen na ti lah ve.
therefore I have declared it to you from of old; before it came to pass I sh'ma ·heard obeyed, declared· it to you; lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them, and my engraved image, and my molten image, has enjoined them.’
6 Na yaak tangtae te boeih hmu van lah. Nangmih tah na puen uh mahpawt nim? A kueinah tih na ming pawt te khaw a thai la nang kan yaak sak pawn ni.
You have sh'ma ·hear obey· it; see all this. And you, won’t you declare it? “I have sh'ma ·hear obey, declared· you new things from this time, even hidden things, which you have not known.
7 Tahae kah a suen uh khaw daengrhae daengkhoi lamkah moenih. A khohnin hlanah na yaak pawt te khaw ka ming coeng tarha na ti ve.
They are created now, and not from of old; and before today you didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· them; lest you should say, ‘Behold, I knew them.’
8 Na yaak noek bal moenih, na ming noek bal moenih. Daengrhae daengkhoi lamkah ni na hna a khui voel pawh. Hnukpoh koi neh na hnukpoh te khaw, bungko khui lamloh boekoek la nang ng'khue te khaw ka ming.
Yes, you didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey·; yes, you didn’t know; yes, from of old your ear was not opened: for I knew that you dealt very treacherously, and were called rebellious who break away from authority thus breaking relationship from the womb.
9 Ka ming ham ni ka thintoek khaw ka hlawt. Te vaengah kamah kah koehnah te nang taeng lamkah loh ka yueh coeng dae nang aka saii ham moenih.
For my name’s sake, I will defer my anger, and for my tehilah ·praise song· I hold it back for you, so that I don’t cut you off.
10 Nang te kan cilpoe dae cak banglam pawt tih phacip phabaem kah hmai-ulh nen ni nang kan coelh he.
Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver. I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.
11 Kamah ham pai ni, kamah ham pai ni ka saii dae balae tih a poeih uh. Ka thangpomnah khaw a tloe la ka pae mahpawh.
For my own sake, for my own sake, I will do it; for how would my name be profaned? I will not give my kavod ·weighty glory· to another.
12 Jakob neh kamah kah ka khue Israel loh kai taengah he hnatun lah. Kai tah amah la ka om tih lamhma khaw kamah, lamhnuk khaw kamah coeng ni.
“Sh'ma ·Hear obey· me, O Jacob [Supplanter], and Israel [God prevails] my called: I am he; I am the first א (Aleph) Α (Alpha), I am also the last ת (Tav) Ω (Omega).
13 Ka kut loh diklai a suen tih ka bantang kut loh vaan a phayai. Amih te ka khue tih tun paiuh.
Yes, my hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spread out the heavens. When I call to them, they stand up together.
14 Nangmih te boeih coi uh thae lamtah hnatun uh lah. Amih taengah aka puen pah khaw unim? Te rhoek te BOEIPA amah loh lungnah dongah Babylon te a kutnaep neh Khalden te a bantha neh a saii ni.
“Assemble yourselves, all of you, and sh'ma ·hear obey·; who among them has declared these things? He whom Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves· will do what he likes to Babylon [Confusion], and his arm will be against the Chaldeans [Descendants of Loving-kindness].
15 Kai kamah loh ka thui dongah anih te ka khue. Anih te ka khuen vetih a longpuei thaihtak ni.
I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
16 Kamah taengah ha mop lamtah hnatun laeh. He tah a lu lamkah neh a huephael kah moenih. Amah a om tue lamkah ni pahoi ka thui coeng. Tahae ah khaw ka Boeipa Yahovah kah a Mueihla nen ni kai n'tueih.
“Come near to me and sh'ma ·hear obey· this: “From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it happened, I was there.” Now 'Adonay Yahweh [Lord He sustains breathing] has sent me, with his Ruach ·Spirit, Breath·.

Adonai, your Redeemer, haKadosh Isra'el [the Holy One of God prevails] says: “I am Adonai your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go.

Oh that you had listened to my mitzvot ·instructions·! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
19 Nang kah tiingan khaw laivin bangla om coeng tih na ko khuikah na cadil rhoek khaw cangtham bangla pat tlaih pawh. A ming khaw kamah mikhmuh lamloh phae tlaih pawh.
Your offspring also would have been as the sand, and the descendants of your body like its grains. His name would not be cut off nor destroyed from before me.”
20 Babylon lamloh coe uh laeh. Khalden lamloh yong uh laeh. Tamlung ol neh puen uh lamtah yaak sak uh laeh. He he diklai khobawt la khuen uh. BOEIPA loh a sal Jakob a tlan coeng,” tiuh.
Leave Babylon [Confusion]! Flee from the Chaldeans [Descendants of Loving-kindness]! With a voice of singing sh'ma ·hear obey, declare· this, tell it even to the end of the earth: say, “Adonai has redeemed his servant Jacob [Supplanter]!”
21 Amih te imrhong longah a caeh puei dae a halthi uh moenih. Lungpang khui lamkah tui te amih ham a sih sak tih lungpang a paeng vaengah tui khaw phuet,” a ti.
They didn’t thirst when he led them through the deserts. He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them. He split the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
22 Halang rhoek taengah rhoepnah om mahpawh. BOEIPA loh a thui.
“There is no peace,” says Adonai, “for the wicked.”
