< Isaiah 41 >
1 Sanglak te kai hmaiah duem omuh. Namtu rhoek khaw thadueng cawn saeh lamtah ha mop uh saeh. Te vaengah, “Laitloeknah ah tun capit uh sih,” ti uh saeh.
Keep silence before me, O islands; and let nations acquire new strength: let them approach, then let them speak, together let us come near to judgment.
2 Khocuk lamloh aka haenghang te unim? Anih te a kho kungah duengnah la a khue. Namtom rhoek te a mikhmuh ah a tloeng pah. Manghai rhoek te a hnaa tih a cunghang neh laipi bangla a saii, a liva te divawt bangla a khoek.
Who waked up from the east the man whom righteousness met in his steps? he giveth up nations before him, and maketh him rule over kings; that his sword may render them as the dust, as driven stubble, his bow.
3 Amih loh a hloem vaengah a kho loh a cawt noek pawh caehlong te sading la a poeng.
He pursueth them, passeth along in safety, by a path which his feet have not gone over before.
4 A lu lamloh a saii tih a khuen phoeiah cadilcahma aka khue te unim? Lamhma khaw kai Yahovah ni, a hnukkhueng taengah khaw kamah ka om.
Who hath wrought and done it? he who called the generations from the beginning; I the Lord, [who am] the first, and with the latest I am the same.
5 Sanglak rhoek loh a hmuh uh tih a rhih uh. Diklai khobawt rhoek khaw a lakueng uh dongah ha tawn uh tih halo uh.
The isles saw it, and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come.
6 Hlang loh a hui te bom uh saeh lamtah a manuca te, “Thaahuel lah,” ti nah saeh.
They help one another; and each one saith to his brother, Be strong!
7 Kutthai loh sui aka cilpoe te a thaphoh. Kilung neh aka picai loh thilung aka hnaa te, “Khangtui khaw khaw then ngawn,” a ti nah. A tuen pawt ham thicung neh a khing.
So the smith encouraged the melter, he that smootheth with the hammer him that striketh on the anvil; saying of the solder, It is good; and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.
8 Tedae ka lungnah Abraham tiingan, ka sal Israel nang neh Jakob nang la kan tuek.
But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend;
9 Diklai khobawt lamloh nang kan doek tih, a hlahloei lamkah ni nang kang khue. Nang te, “Ka sal ni,” ka ti dongah nang kan coelh. Te dongah nang te kan hnawt moenih.
Thou, whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the midst of its chiefs, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
10 Rhih boeh, nang taengah kamah ka om. Mangthong ngawn boeh kai he na Pathen ni. Na nam kan ning sak vetih nang kam bom ngawn bitni. Kamah kah duengnah bantang kut neh nang kan moem bitni.
Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I strengthen thee, yea, I help thee, yea, I uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Nang taengah aka lungoe boeih tah yak uh vetih a hmaithae uh ni. Namah taengah tuituknah aka khueh hlang rhoek a hong la om vetih milh uh ni.
Behold, ashamed and confounded shall be all that were incensed against thee; they shall be as naught and perish—the men that strive with thee.
12 Na rhalcak te hlang na tlap cakhaw na hmu mahpawh. Nang kah caemtloek hlang rhoek te a hong neh a poei-oep la om ni.
Thou wilt seek them, and shalt not find them, the men that contend with thee; they shall be as naught and as nothing, the men that make war against thee.
13 Kai tah na bantang kut aka moem tih nang taengah, “Rhih boeh nang te kamah loh kam bom bitni,” aka ti Yahovah na Pathen ni.
For I the Lord thy God lay hold of thy right hand; [I am he] who saith unto thee, Fear not, I help thee.
14 Jakob talam, Israel hlang loh rhih boeh. Kamah loh nang kan bom bitni. Israel kah hlangcim nang aka tlan, BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye few men of Israel: I myself help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15 Nang te tloep dongkah thingphael no a thai kah kungmah la kang khueh ni. Tlang na til vetih na tip sak ni. Som khaw cangkik bangla na khueh ni.
Behold, I have rendered thee a threshing instrument, sharp, new, having many teeth: thou shalt thresh mountains, and beat them small, and shalt render the hills as chaff.
16 Amih te na rhuek vaengah yilh loh a khuen vetih hlipuei loh a taekyak ni. Tedae nang tah BOEIPA dongah na omngaih vetih Israel kah a cim dongah na thangthen bitni.
Thou shalt scatter them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the storm shall disperse them; but thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, in the Holy One of Israel shalt thou glorify thyself.
17 Mangdaeng neh khodaeng loh tui a tlap. Tuihalh dongah a lai om kolla koh coeng. Kai Israel Pathen Yahovah loh amih te ka doo tih amih te ka hnoo moenih.
The poor and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue is dried up with thirst: I the Lord will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18 Caphoei cuk ah tuiva, kolbawn laklung ah tuisih ka phuet sak ni. Khosoek te tuibap tui la, khohmuen rhamrhae te tui hnun la ka khueh ni.
I will open on naked mountain-peaks rivers, and in the midst of valleys fountains; I will change the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into springs of water.
19 Khosoek ah lamphai, thingkoi, cuihal neh situi thing ka khueh ni. kolken ah hmaical, kungkang neh ta-aw thing khaw tun a khueh.
I will place in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the oil-tree; I will set in the desert the fir-tree, the pine and the box-tree together;
20 Te vaengah BOEIPA kut loh a saii tih Israel kah a cim loh a suen te hmu uh saeh lamtah ming uh saeh, dueh uh saeh lamtah tun yakming uh saeh.
In order that they may see, and know and take [it to heart], and comprehend together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
21 BOEIPA loh, “Nangmih kah tuituknah phoe puei uh,” a ti. Jakob manghai long tah, “Namamih kah oelhnah te tawn uh,” a ti.
Produce your cause, saith the Lord: bring forward your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
22 Hnukbuet kah aka thoeng te mamih taengah tawn saeh lamtah thui uh saeh. Amih loh mebang a thui akhaw mamih kah lungbuei ah khueh uh sih. A hmailong ah mamih kah n'yaak bangla a thoeng te ming uh sih.
Let them bring them forward and tell us what shall happen: the former things—what are they?—tell us, that we may take it to heart, and know the result of them; or let us hear the things that are to come.
23 A hnuk ah aka lo te thui lamtah nangmih na pathen uh te kam hmat uh eh. Na thae na then khaw ka uem uh vetih ka sawt khaw ka sawt mai bitni.
Tell the events that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and see it together.
24 Nangmih te tangkik tanglai ni he. Na bisai khaw a hong lakah nah. Nangmih aka coelh te khaw tueilaehkoi ni.
Behold, ye are less than nothing, and your work less than a breath: [he that is] an abomination [alone] chooseth you.
25 Tlangpuei lamloh ka haeng tih khocuk khomik taeng lamloh halo. Ka ming te a phuk tih ukkung rhoek te amlai bangla a pah. Te vaengah amsai bangla tangnong a daep.
I have waked up one from the north, and he cometh; from the rising of the sun one who will call on my name: and he shall [over-]come princes as mortar, and as the potter treadeth down the clay.
26 A tong lamkah unim aka puen tih mikhmuh lamkah khaw ka ming vetih thuem ka ti uh eh. Aka puen khaw om pawh, aka yaak sak khaw om pawh, na ol aka ya khaw om pawh.
Who hath told it from the beginning, that we may know it? and aforetimes, that we may say, “it is right?” but indeed there is none that telleth, indeed there is none that letteth us hear, indeed there is none that heareth your words.
27 Amih he lamhma la Zion taengah khaw, Jerusalem taengah khaw aka phong la ka paek coeng he.
The first [was I to say] to Zion, Behold, there they are; and to Jerusalem will I give one that bringeth good tidings.
28 Ka hmuh nawn khaw hlang om pawh. Amih ka dawt vaengah ol mael hamla amih aka uen khaw om pawh.
And I ever look, and there is no man; and among these there is no counsellor, that they could answer a word.
29 Amih te boeih ah boethae ni ke. A bibi khaw a poei-oep, a tuisi khaw a khohli neh a hinghong ni.
Behold, they all are naught; their works are nothing: wind and vanity are their molten images.
