< Isaiah 40 >
1 Hloep uh pai, ka pilnam he hloep uh pai. Na Pathen loh,
"Comfort, comfort my people," says your God.
2 Jerusalem te a lungbuei ah thui pah lamtah amah taengah hoe pah. Amah kathaesainah moeithen pah ham a caempuei khaw cung coeng. A tholhnah cungkuem ham te rhaepnit la BOEIPA kut a yook.
"Speak tenderly to Jerusalem; and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins."
3 Khosoek kah pang ol dongah BOEIPA kah longpuei rhoekbah uh. Mamih Pathen ham longpuei te kolken duela dueng sakuh.
The voice of one who calls out in the wilderness, "Prepare the way of the LORD. Make his roads straight.
4 Kolrhawk khaw boeih nolh saeh lamtah tlang som boeih khaw kunyun sak uh laeh. Cangngok te tlangtlae la, ngoemngak te khaw kolbawn la om saeh.
Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be made low, and the uneven will be made level, and the rough places a plain.
5 BOEIPA kah a ka loh a thui coeng dongah BOEIPA kah thangpomnah te phoe vetih pumsa ah thikat la boeih a hmuh uh ni.
And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all humanity will see the salvation of God together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
6 Ol long tah pang dae a ti tih a thui coeng. Balae ka pang thil eh? Pumsa boeih he sulrham banghui ni, pumsa kah sitlohnah boeih khaw lohma kah tamlaep pai banghui mai ni.
The voice of one saying, "Cry." And I said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.
7 Sulrham khaw rhae tih tamlaep pai tloih. Pilnam khaw BOEIPA kah a hil loh sulrham bangla a yawn taktak.
The grass withers, the flower fades, because the LORD's breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
8 Sulrham he rhae tih rhaipai loh rhul mai cakhaw mamih Pathen kah olka tah kumhal duela pai.
The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of the LORD stands forever."
9 Zion ham aka phong loh na tlang sang la luei lah. Jerusalem ham aka phong khaw na thadueng ol neh pomsang lah. Rhih boeh pomsang laeh. Judah khopuei rhoek taengah, “Nangmih kah Pathen la he,” ti nah.
You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up. Do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, "Look, your God."
10 Ka Boeipa Yahovah tah a tlungluen neh ha pawk tih a bantha loh anih ham a taemrhai pah coeng ke. A thapang khaw amah taengah, a thaphu khaw a mikhmuh ah om coeng ke.
Look, the LORD will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Look, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
11 Amah kah tuping aka dawn bangla a ban neh a luem sak. Tuca rhoek te a coi tih a rhang dongah a poem. Cacun khaw a khool bal.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.
12 A kutpha dongah tui aka loeng, vaan te khap at la aka khap tih diklai laipi khaw baelpuei dongah aka hluem, tlang neh som boeih khaw cooi dongah coilung pakhat neh aka thuek te unim?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13 BOEIPA kah mueihla aka noem tih a cilsuep neh anih aka ming sak hlang te unim?
Who has known the mind of the LORD, or who has instructed him as his counselor?
14 Anih aka uen tih aka yakming sak khaw, tiktamnah caehlong neh anih aka cang tih mingnah longpuei neh aka cang, anih te lungcuei aka ming sak te unim te?
From whom did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding? Or who has first given to him, and it will be repaid to him again?
15 Namtom rhoek khaw tuiduen dongkah tuicip bangla, cooi dongkah khomong bangla a ngai uh ke ni. Sanglak boeih khaw khonuei bangla a yaal.
Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Look, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
16 Lebanon pataeng toih rhoeh pawt tih a mulhing hmueihhlutnah la rhoeh pawh.
Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Namtom boeih khaw amah hmaikah pawt bangla a poei-oep lakah khaw amah rhangneh hinghong la ngai uh.
All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.
18 Te dongah Pathen te u taengah nim na lutlat sak vetih amah te mebang nen nim phek na tluk sak uh eh?
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?
19 Mueithuk te kutthai loh a hloe tih sui aka dung loh sui neh a nulh thil. Cak rhui nen khaw a cam.
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
20 Tangkik tanglai loh khocang la thing aka keet pawt te a coelh. Aka tuen pawh mueithuk aka saek ham te kutthai hlangcueih a tlap.
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up an engraved image for him that will not be moved.
21 Na ming uh pawt nim? Na ya uh pawt nim? A lu lamloh nangmih taengah thui pawt nim? Diklai kah a yung na yakming uh pawt nim?
Haven't you known? Haven't you heard, yet? Haven't you been told from the beginning? Haven't you understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 Diklai kueluek soah aka ngol tih tangku bangla kho aka sa, vaan te tihil bangla aka cuet, khosa ham dap bangla aka yaai pah la om.
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in;
23 Boeica rhoek te a hong taengla aka pae neh diklai kah laitloek rhoek te hinghong la a khueh.
who brings princes to nothing; who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
24 A phung uh pawt tih a soem uh pawt hmanah a ngo khaw diklai ah saicin bal pawh. Te dongah amih te phawn a hmuh vaengah tah koh pahoi tih hlipuei loh divawt bangla a khuen.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
25 Te dongah kai naka puet tihA Cim neh ka vanat aka ti te unim?
"To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
26 Na mik te a sang la dangrhoek lamtah so uh lah. He he aka suen khaw unim? A caempuei a tarhing ah a thoeng sak tih amih te a ming neh boeih a khue. A thahuem khaw cang kahlak tih thadueng neh a om rhapsat coeng dongah hlang pakhat pataeng a hmaai moenih.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their host by number. He calls them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
27 Balae tih Jakob nang na cal. Israel sawt long khaw, “Ka longpuei he BOEIPA taeng lamloh thuh uh coeng, ka tiktamnah he ka Pathen loh a poe coeng,” na ti rhailai.
Why do you say, Jacob, and why do you assert, Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God?"
28 Na ming het pawt nim? Khosuen Pathen Yahovah na ya noek pawt nim? Diklai bawt aka suen te tawnba pawt tih a kohnue moenih. A lungcuei te khenah om mahpawh.
And now, haven't you known? Haven't you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the farthest parts of the earth, doesn't faint. He isn't weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
29 Lamlum te thadueng a paek tih thahuem aka khueh pawt te thaomnah a rhoeng sak.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
30 Camoe rhoek te tawnba uh tih kohnue uh. Tongpang rhoek khaw a paloe lam ni a paloe uh.
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
31 Tedae BOEIPA aka lamtawn rhoek tah a thadueng sai vetihatha bangla a phae neh luei ni. Yong uh cakhaw kohnue uh mahpawh. Cet thikthuek cakhaw tawnba uh mahpawh,” a ti.
But those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
