< Isaiah 38 >

1 Te a tue rhuet ah Hezekiah tah a duek ham rhoela tlo. Te vaengah tonghma Amoz capa Isaiah tah anih taengla ha pawk tih amah te, “BOEIPA loh na imkhui ham n'uen tih a thui coeng dongah na duek pawn ni, na hing mahpawh,” a ti nah.
In those days was Hezekiah sick to death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, Thus says the LORD, Set your house in order: for you shall die, and not live.
2 Tedae Hezekiah loh a maelhmai te pangbueng taengla a hoi tih BOEIPA taengah thangthui.
Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD,
3 Te vaengah, “Aw BOEIPA na mikhmuh ah uepomnah neh ka pongpa te khaw ham poek laem lah. Na mikhmuh ah lungbuei a rhuemtuet la a then ni ka saii,” a ti. Te vaengah Hezekiah a rhah rhoe mah hlawk hlawk rhap.
And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 Te dongah BOEIPA ol loh Isaiah taengla ha pawk tih,
Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,
Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: behold, I will add to your days fifteen years.
6 Namah neh hekah khopuei he Assyria manghai kut lamkah ka huul vetih khopuei he khaw ka tungaep ni.
And I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
7 BOEIPA taeng lamkah miknoek pakhat he nang ham coeng ni. BOEIPA loh ol a thui tangtae bangla a saii ni.
And this shall be a sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he has spoken;
8 Khomik te tangtlaeng parha ka thoeih sak tih Ahaz kah tangtlaeng dongah aka tla tangtlaeng mueihlip te ka mael sak coeng he,” a ti nah. Khomik khaw tangtlaeng dongah a caeh vanbangla tangtlaeng parha hil ah mael tangloeng.
Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
9 Amah te nue coeng dae a tloh khui lamloh a hing vaengah Judah manghai Hezekiah kah cadaek.
The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
10 Kai tah, “Saelkhui vongka ah, ka khohnin he dingsueknah neh ka pongpa puei mai vetih, ka kum noi ka bawt mai mako,” ka ti. (Sheol h7585)
I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. (Sheol h7585)
11 Mulhing khohmuen kah BOEIPA tah ka hmu voel mahpawh, lunghnilhkho kah khosa rhoek taengah hlang koep ka paelki mahpawh ka ti coeng.
I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
12 Ka thawnpuei te a khum puei tih kai kah boiva aka dawn kah dap bangla kai taeng lamloh a khuen. Hni aka tak bangla ka hingnah a awn tih phaivoep dong lamloh kai m'mueluem. Te dongah khothaih lamloh khoyin duela kai nan thuung sak.
My age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night will you make an end of me.
13 Mincang due sathueng bangla ka hnil tih ka rhuh khaw boeih a khaem te khothaih lamloh khoyin duela kai nan thuung sak.
I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night will you make an end of me.
14 Vasoe, langloep bangla ka cip tih vahui bangla ka tuk. Ka mik hmuensang la tlayae sut. Boeipa aw kai taengkah hnaemtaeknah soah kai hamla rhikhang lah.
Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: my eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.
15 Kai taengah a thui tih amah loh a saii coeng dongah metlae ka ti eh? Ka hinglu kah khahing neh ka kum boeih khaw vawlhvawlh ka van mai bitni.
What shall I say? he has both spoken to me, and himself has done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.
16 Ka Boeipa aw te rhoek neh hing mai saeh. A khuikah aka om boeih nen ni ka mueihla kah a hingnah khaw a om. Te dongah kai he nan man sak akhaw kai n'hing sak mai.
O LORD, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so will you recover me, and make me to live.
17 Ka taengkah khahing neh ka phaep uh he sadingnah ham ni. Namah loh vaam khui lamkah ka hinglu he na ven bueng kolla ka tholhnah boeih te na nam la na voeih coeng.
Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but you have in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for you have cast all my sins behind your back.
18 Nang aka uem te saelkhui moenih. Dueknah loh nang n'thangthen nim. Tangrhom ah aka suntla rhoek loh na oltak te a lamso moenih. (Sheol h7585)
For the grave cannot praise you, death can not celebrate you: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for your truth. (Sheol h7585)
19 Aka hing aka hing long ni namah te kai bangla ng'uem dae amah. Tihnin ah ana pa loh camoe rhoek taengah na oltak te a ming sak pai.
The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known your truth.
20 BOEIPA loh kai n'khang dongah mamih kah hingnah tue a om khui atah BOEIPA im ah rhotoeng n'tum uh pawn ni.
The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
21 Te phoeiah Isaiah loh, “Thaibu thaidae lo saehlamtah buhlut te ben saeh, anih te hing bitni,” a ti nah.
For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaster on the boil, and he shall recover.
22 Hezekiah loh, “Mebang miknoek nen lae BOEIPA im la ka caeh eh?,” a ti nah.
Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
