< Isaiah 24 >
1 BOEIPA loh diklai a hlaih tih a pong sak coeng ke. Te dongah a maelhmai a paihaeh sak vetih khosa rhoek khaw a taekyak pah ni.
Lo, Jehovah is emptying the land, And is making it waste, And hath overturned [it on] its face, And hath scattered its inhabitants.
2 Te vaengah khosoih taengah khaw pilnam taengkah bangla, a boeipa taengah khaw sal taengkah bangla, boeinu taengah khaw salnu bangla, aka yoi taengah aka lai taengkah bangla, puhlah taengah purhong bangla, laibai aka suk taengah khaw laiba aka sah taengkah bangla a om pah ni.
And it hath been — as a people so a priest, As the servant so his master, As the maid-servant so her mistress, As the buyer so the seller, As the lender so the borrower, As the usurer so he who is lifting [it] on himself.
3 Diklai he a hlaih, a hlaih vetih a poelyoe rhoela a poelyoe uh ni. Hekah ol he BOEIPA loh a thui ngawn coeng.
Utterly emptied is the land, and utterly spoiled, For Jehovah hath spoken this word:
4 Diklai khaw nguekcoi neh tahah, lunglai khaw a thathae neh tahah, diklai pilnam kah a koevoeinah khaw a thathae bal.
Mourned, faded hath the land, Languished, faded hath the world, Languished have they — the high place of the people of the land.
5 Diklai he a khuikah khosa rhoek kongah poeih uh coeng. Olkhueng te a poe uh, oltlueh te a hoilae uh tih, khosuen paipi te a phae uh.
And the land hath been defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed laws, They have changed a statute, They have made void a covenant age-during.
6 Te dongah thaephoeinah loh diklai a yoop tih a khuikah khosa rhoek khaw boe uh coeng. Te dongah diklai khosa rhoek tah sai uh tih hlanghing khaw a yolkai ni a sueng coeng.
Therefore a curse hath consumed the land, And the inhabitants in it are become desolate, Therefore consumed have been inhabitants of the land, And few men have been left.
7 misur thai khaw nguekcoi tih misur kung huum, lungbuei ko aka hoe khaw boeih huei uh.
Mourned hath the new wine, languished the vine, Sighed have all the joyful of heart.
8 Kamrhing kah omthennah khaw paa, yalpo rhoek kah longlonah khaw paa, rhotoeng kah omthennah khaw duem.
Ceased hath the joy of tabrets, Ceased hath the noise of exulting ones, Ceased hath the joy of a harp.
9 Laa te khaw misur neh yun uh voel pawh. A ok ham yu te khaw paeng coeng.
With a song they drink not wine, Bitter is strong drink to those drinking it.
10 Hinghong khorha tah po tih kun thil ham im khaw boeih a khaih.
It was broken down — a city of emptiness, Shut hath been every house from entrance.
11 Misurtui ham te kawtpoeng tom ah henah om, kohoenah loh boeih hmuep tih diklai omthennah khaw khum.
A cry over the wine [is] in out-places, Darkened hath been all joy, Removed hath been the joy of the land.
12 Khopuei ah imsuep te a hlun tih vongka te a bungnah la a top.
Left in the city [is] desolation, And [with] wasting is the gate smitten.
13 Te dongah diklai laklo ah khaw, pilnam laklo ah khaw olive a hae vaengkah bangla, misurbit a thok daengkah a yoep bangla om ni.
When thus it is in the heart of the land, In the midst of the peoples, As the compassing of the olive, As gleanings when harvest hath been finished,
14 Amih te a ol a huel uh tih BOEIPA kah hoemdamnah te a tamhoe puei uh. Te vaengah tuipuei lamkah khaw a hlampan puei uh.
They — they lift up their voice, They sing of the excellency of Jehovah, They have cried aloud from the sea.
15 Te dongah BOEIPA tah hmaipuei dongah, Israel Pathen Yahweh ming tah tuipuei sanglak ah thangpom uh.
Therefore in prosperity honour ye Jehovah, In isles of the sea, the name of Jehovah, God of Israel.
16 Diklai khobawt lamkah kirhang hlangdueng laa te n'yaak uh coeng. Tedae, “Kai taengkah sakboeihnah, kai taengkah sakboeihnah aih. Anunae kamah taengah hnukpoh khaw hnukpoh uh mai. Hnukpoh te hnukpoh rhoek loh a hnukpoh thil uh,” ka ti.
From the skirt of the earth we heard songs, The desire of the righteous. And I say, 'Leanness [is] to me, Leanness [is] to me, woe [is] to me.' Treacherous dealers dealt treacherously, Yea, treachery, treacherous dealers dealt treacherously.
17 Birhihnah neh rhom khaw, pael khaw diklai khosa nang ham khaw.
Fear, and a snare, and a gin, [Are] on thee, O inhabitant of the land.
18 Birhihnah ol ah rhaelrham vetih rhom ah aka cungku khaw om ni. Rhom khui lamkah aka coe khaw pael neh a boh ni. Hmuensang lamkah bangbuet khaw ong uh tih diklai khaw a yung hoep.
And it hath come to pass, He who is fleeing from the noise of the fear Doth fall into the snare, And he who is coming up from the midst of the snare, Is captured by the gin, For windows on high have been opened, And shaken are foundations of the land.
19 Diklai khaw thae la thae coeng. Diklai he rhek la rhek coeng. Diklai he tuen la tuen coeng.
Utterly broken down hath been the land, Utterly broken hath been the land, Utterly moved hath been the land.
20 Diklai he yurhui bangla vikvuek la vikvuek uh tih tlak bangla rhaehba sut. A boekoek loh amah a nan tih a cungku vaengah koep thoo mahpawh.
Stagger greatly doth the land as a drunkard, And it hath been moved as a lodge, And heavy on it hath been its transgression, And it hath fallen, and addeth not to rise.
21 Tekah khohnin a pha vaengah BOEIPA loh hmuensang kah hmuensang caempuei te khaw khaw, diklai ah diklai manghai rhoek te khaw a hip ni.
And it hath come to pass, in that day, Jehovah layeth a charge on the host of the high place in the high place, And on the kings of the land on the land.
22 Tangrhom khuikah hlongkhoh te hlop at la a coi uh vetih rhomhmop ah a khoh uh ni. Tedae khohnin muep a koe phoeiah ni a cawh eh.
And they have been gathered — A gathering of bound ones in a pit, And shut up they have been in a prison, And after a multitude of days are inspected.
23 Hla khaw a maelhmai tal vetih kholing khaw yaai ni. Zion tlang sokah Jerusalem neh amah kah thangpomnah te patong rhoek hmaiah caempuei BOEIPA te manghai ni.
And confounded hath been the moon, And ashamed hath been the sun, For reigned hath Jehovah of Hosts In mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, And over-against His elders — honour!
