< Hosea 6 >
1 Halo uh lamtah BOEIPA taengla mael uh sih. Amah loh baeh cakhaw mamih he n'hoeih sak vetih n'ngawn cakhaw mamih kah a hma te a poi ni.
“Come, and let us return unto the Lord; for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind up our wounds.
2 Hnin nit phoeikah a thum hnin ah mamih n'hing sak vetih a mikhmuh ah hing sak hamla mamih n'thoh ni.
He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his presence.
3 Te dongah ming uh sih lamtah BOEIPA te ming hamla hloem uh sih. A thoengnah te mincang bangla cikngae vetih diklai tlankhol a bo bangla mamih ham khonal la ha thoeng ni.
And let us feel it, that we may strive to know the Lord; bright as the morning-dawn is his rising; and he will come as the rain unto us, as the latter rain that maketh fruitful the earth.”
4 Ephraim nang taengah balae ka saii eh? Judah nang taengah balae ka saii eh? Nangmih sitlohnah he mincang cingmai bangla, thoh hang neh aka khum buemtui bangla om.
What shall I do unto thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do unto thee, O Judah? for your piety is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away.
5 Te dongah amih te tonghma neh ka dae tih ka ka dongkah ol neh ka ngawn. Nangmih kah laitloeknah hmaivang tah thoeng coeng.
Therefore did I hew [them] down by means of the prophets; I slew them by the words of my mouth: and thy punishments go forth like the light.
6 Sitlohnah he ka ngaih tih hmueih moenih. Pathen mingnah he, hmueihhlutnah lakah ka ngaih.
For piety I desired, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God, more than burnt-offerings.
7 Tedae amih loh Adam bangla paipi a poe uh tih ka taengah hnap hnukpoh uh.
But they, like an ordinary man, have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
8 Gilead he boethae aka saii rhoek kah khorha la om tih, thii kah a ngo om.
Gil'ad is become a city of workers of wickedness, is full of traces of blood.
9 Caem loh hlang a rhingda bangla khosoih rhoek kah hloih loh longpuei kah te Shekhem duela a ngawn uh tih khonuen rhamtat la a saii uh.
And as troops that lie in wait for a man, so is the band of priests, they murder on the way in unison; for they commit scandalous deeds.
10 Israel imkhui ah rhih-om, rhih-om ka hmuh tih Ephraim kah pumyoihnah loh Israel te pahoi a poeih.
On the house of Israel have I seen a horrible thing: there is lewdness in Ephraim, Israel is become defiled.
11 Judah khaw ka pilnam thongtla te ka mael puei vaengah nang kah cangah tue a khueh coeng.
Also for thee, O Judah, will a harvest be prepared, when I bring back the captivity of my people.
