< Hosea 1 >

1 BOEIPA ol tah Judah manghai rhoek Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah tue neh Israel manghai Joash capa Jeroboam tue vaengah Beeri capa Hosea taengla pawk.
The word of Yahweh which came unto Hosea son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, —and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel.
2 BOEIPA tah Hosea dong lamloh lamhma la cal. Te vaengah BOEIPA loh Hosea te, “Cet lamtah pumyoi nu neh pumyoihnah kah camoe rhoek te namah taengla lo laeh. Khohmuen he BOEIPA hnuk lamloh cukhalh rhoe cukhalh,” a ti nah.
The beginning of the word of Yahweh with Hosea, was, —that Yahweh said unto Hosea, Go take thee a woman of unchastity, and the children of unchastity, for, unchastely indeed, hath the land been going away from following Yahweh.
3 Te dongah cet tih Diblaim canu Gomer te a loh. Te vaengah vawn tih anih hamla capa pakhat a sak pah.
So he went and took Gomer, daughter of Diblaim, —and she conceived and bare him a son.
4 Te vaengah BOEIPA loh anih te, “A ming te Jezreel sui. Jehu im kah Jezreel thii te ka cawh vetih Israel imkhui kah ram te ka paa sak pawn ni.
Then said Yahweh unto him, Call his name Jezreel: for, yet a little, and I will visit the bloodshed of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
5 Te khohnin te a pha vaengah tah Israel kah lii te Jezreel kol ah ka khaem pah ni,” a ti.
And it shall come to pass, in that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the vale of Jezreel.
6 Te phoeiah koep vawn tih canu a sak hatah, “Israel imkhui te koep ka haidam voel pawt vetih amih te ka khuen rhoe ka khuen ham coeng dongah a ming te Loruhamah sui.
Then conceived she again and bare a daughter, and he said to him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah ["Uncompassionated"], —for, not again any more, will I have compassion upon the house of Israel, that I should, forgive, them;
7 Tedae Judah imkhui tah ka haidam vetih amih te amamih kah Pathen BOEIPA rhangneh ka khang ni. Te vaengah amih te lii neh, tumca neh, caemtloek neh, marhang neh, marhang caem neh ka khang mahpawh,” a ti nah.
but, on the house of Judah, will I have compassion, and I will save them, as Yahweh their God, —but will not save them by bow, or by sword, or by battle, by horses, or by horsemen.
8 Loruhamah te suk a kan phoeiah vawn tih capa a sak.
And, when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.
9 Te vaengah, “Nangmih te ka pilnam voel pawt tih kai khaw nangmih hut la ka om voel pawt dongah a ming te Loami sui,” a ti nah.
Then said he, Call his name Lo-ammi ["No people of mine"], —for ye are Lo-ammi ["No people of mine"], and, I, will not be yours.
10 Tedae Israel ca hlangmi tah tuitunli kah laivin bangla om ni. Te te loeng lek pawt tih tae lek pawh. Amih te, 'Nangmih te ka pilnam moenih,’ a ti nah hmuen ah a om sak vetih amih te aka hing Pathen ca rhoek a ti ni.
Yet shall the number of the sons of Israel become like the sand of the sea, which can neither he measured, nor numbered, —and it shall come to pass, in the place where it used to be said to them, No people of mine, are ye, it shall be said to them, Sons of a Living God!
11 Te vaengah Judah ca rhoek neh Israel ca tun tingtun uh ni. Amamih ham boeilu pakhat a khueh uh tih Jezreel khohnin puei ham khohmuen lamloh cet uh ni,” a ti nah.
Then shall the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel, gather themselves together, as one, and shall appoint them one head, and come up out of the earth, —for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
