1 Khohni Pathen kah khosoih, Salem manghai Melkhizedek loh, manghai rhoek tloeknah lamkah aka bal Abraham te a doe tih a uem.
It was this Melchisedek, King of Salem and Priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him;
2 A cungkuem lamkah parha ah pakhat te khaw Abraham loh anih a boe. Khatben ah lamhma la, duengnah manghai neh Salem manghai khaw a thuingaih coeng. Te tah ngaimongnah manghai ni.
and it was to him that Abraham apportioned a tithe of all the spoil. He was first, as his name signifies, King of righteousness, and then King of Salem, that is, King of Peace;
3 Pamueh numueh, rhuirhong mueh, a khohnin a tongnah om pawt tih hingnah a bawtnah khaw khueh pawh. Tedae Pathen capa la om tih kumhal ah khosoih la naeh.
without father or mother, without lineage, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest in perpetuity.
4 Patuel Abraham long pataeng a kutbuem khuikah parha pakhat a paek atah anih khaw bahoeng len tila hmu uh.
But observe how great this man was, to whom even Abraham, the Patriarch, gave a tenth part of the spoils.
5 Levi ca rhoek long tah a khuikah khosoih te a dang. Olkhueng vanbangla pilnam taengah parha pakhat coi nah olpaek khaw a khueh uh. Tedae Abraham pumpu lamloh ha thoeng boeiloeih tih a manuca la om.
Now those of the sons of Levi who are appointed to the priesthood, are authorized by the Law to take tithes of the people, that is, of their brothers, and that too, although these are descended from Abraham.
6 Tedae amih kah rhuirhong mueh loh Abraham taengkah parha pakhat a doe tih olkhueh aka dang te a uem.
But this man who had no Levitical genealogy actually took tithes of Abraham, and blessed him to whom the promises belong.
7 Te dongah a then loh mathoe a uem te boeih pakainah moenih.
Now it is beyond all controversy that the inferior is always blessed by the superior.
8 Te vaengah hlang duek loh parha pakhat te a dang dae hing tila pahoi a phong pah.
Again it is mortal men who receive tithes in the one case; while in the other it is he of whom it is attested, "He lives."
9 Te phoeiah olka a thui vanbangla Abraham lamlong ni Levi long khaw a doe parha pakhat te a dang.
And even Levi, who is the receiver of tithes, so to speak, paid tithes through Abraham;
10 Melkhizedek loh anih a doe vaengah Levi he a napa kah a pumpu ah ni a om pueng.
for Levi was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedek met Abraham.
11 Levi khosoih lamloh hmakhahnah a om tangloeng atah pilnam loh amah soah ol a rhi coeng. Melkhizedek kah aitlaeng bangla a tloe khosoih aka phoe taengah banim a ngoe pueng? Aron kah aitlaeng bangla khue pawt nim?
Now if there were perfection through the Levitical priesthood, (and it was under it that the people received the Law) why was it still necessary for another kind of priest to arise, after the order of Melchisedek, instead of being reckoned according to the order of Aaron?
12 Khosoih bi te a thovael vaengah olkhueng kah thovaelnah khaw a kueknah om.
For when the priesthood changes, of necessity the law also changes.
13 Amah kawng a thui uh he khaw a tloe koca taengah cabol coeng. Te lamkah te tah hmueihtuk aka ngaithuen moenih.
He who is thus described belonged to another tribe, not one member of which has ever served at the altar.
14 Te dongah mamih kah Boeipa te Judah lamkah ha thoeng te lohaa coeng. Tekah koca ham khosoih bi te Moses loh ana thui moenih.
For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe of which Moses said nothing concerning the priesthood.
15 Te phoeiah a cimphan la muep om pueng. Melkhizedek kah mueiloh bangla khosoih a tloe a phoe mak atah.
And this is yet more abundantly clear if, after the likeness of Melchisedek, there arises another Priest,
16 Anih tah pumsa olpaek kah olkhueng dongah om pawt tih aka nguel hingnah kah thaomnah dongah ni a om.
who has become such, not according to the law of a transitory enactment, but according to the energy of an indissoluble life.
17 “Nang tah Melkhizedek kah aitlaeng bangla kumhal ah na khosoih coeng,” tila a phong. (aiōn )
For the words are in evidence, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedek. (aiōn )
18 Olpaek lamhma he tattloel tih a hloo dongah a hnawt a khoe la poeh.
For there is a setting aside of a foregoing commandment, because of its weakness and unprofitableness
19 Olkhueng loh soep sak pawt dae ngaiuepnah then ham rhoekbahnah la om. Te nen ni Pathen taengla n'yoei uh.
(for the Law brought nothing to perfection); and there is the bringing in of a better hope by which we draw near to God;
20 Te tlam khaw olhlonah tal aih pawt dae, amih tah olhlonah om muehla khosoih a bi uh ngawn ta.
mightier because it was not promised apart from an oath.
21 Tedae te lamloh olhlonah neh amah te, “Boeipa loh a toemngam coeng dongah yut pawt tih kumhal duela na khosoih coeng,” a ti nah. (aiōn )
For although those priests became such without an oath, He had an oath form God who said to him, The Lord hath sworn and will not change, Thou art a priest forever. (aiōn )
22 Heyet lamlong tah Jesuh he paipi then kah rhi aka khang la om coeng.
And by so much Jesus becomes the guarantor of a better covenant.
23 Te vaengah aka nguel ham te duek loh a kanghalh dongah khosoih la aka om rhoek khaw muep lo uh.
And they indeed have been made priests, many in number, because they have been prevented by death from continuing;
24 Tedae kumhal duela aka naeh tih a cak la aka om khosoih khaw amah ni. (aiōn )
but he, because of his abiding forever, holds his priesthood inviolable. (aiōn )
25 Te dongah anih lamloh Pathen aka paan rhoek khuek a khang thai bal. A yoeyah la hing ham te amih yueng la huithui coeng.
Hence also he is able to continue saving to the uttermost those who are ever drawing near to God through him, seeing that he is ever living to intercede for them.
26 Tebang hlangcim, ommongsitoe, aka cuem, hlangtholh taeng lamloh aka hoep uh, vaan sang la aka om tah mamih kah khosoihham lam khaw rhoep tloe pai.
For we needed just such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens;
27 Anih tah khosoihham rhoek bangla a kueknah te hnin takuem a khueh moenih. Lamhma kah long tah amah kah tholhnah ham hmueih nawn. Te phoeikah rhoek ni pilnam ham pueng. Hekah long tah amah te bangtlang saii uh tih a nawn.
one who has no need, like the high priests, to offer up daily sacrifices, first for his own sins, then for those of the people. For his sacrifice was made once for all, when he offered up himself.
28 Olkhueng loh vawtthoeknah aka om hlang te khosoihham la a tuek. Tedae olkhueng hnukah olhlonah ol loh capa te kumhal duela a soep sak coeng. (aiōn )
For the Law appoints human beings to be high priests, men with all their weakness; but the word of the oath, which was later than the Law, appoints a Son, perfected forevermore. (aiōn )
