So Israel brake up, with all that he had, and came in to Beer-sheba, —and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
2 Te dongah amah tekah khoyin ah Isreal te Pathen loh mangthuinah neh a voek tih, “Jakob, Jakob,” a ti nah hatah, “Kai ka om he,” a ti nah.
And God said to Israel in the visions of the night, and he said—Jacob! Jacob! And he said—Behold me!

And he said: I, am GOD himself, the God of thy father, —Be not afraid of going down to Egypt, seeing that for a great nation, will I plant thee there.

So Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba, —and the sons of Israel brought Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the waggons which Pharaoh had sent to bring him;

and they took their cattle and the gains which they had gained in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, —Jacob and all his seed with him:

his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed, brought he with him into Egypt.
8 Jakob neh a ca rhoek loh Egypt la a caeh uh vaengkah Israel ca rhoek kah a ming tah, Jakob kah a caming Reuben,
Now, these, are the names of the sons of Israel who came into Egypt—Jacob and his sons, —the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben:
9 Reuben ca rhoek la Enok, Pallu, Khetsron neh, Karmee
And, the sons of Reuben, —Hanoch and Pallu, and Hezron and Carmi;
10 Simeon ca rhoek la Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakhin, Zohar neh Kanaan nu kah a capa Saul,
And, the sons of Simeon, —Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar, —and Shaul, son of the Canaanitess;
11 Levi ca rhoek la Gershon, Kohath neh, Merari
And the sons of Levi, —Gershon, Kohath and Merari;
12 Judah koca rhoek la Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, Zerah om daea Er neh Onan te Kanaan kho ah duek tih Perez ca rhoi la Khetsron neh Hamul om.
And the sons of Judah, —Er and Onan and Shelah, and Perez and Zerah, —but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul;
13 Issakhar ca rhoek la Tola, Puvah, Jashub neh Shimron,
And, the sons of Issachar, —Tola and Puvah, and Iob and Shimron;
14 Zebulun ca rhoek la Sered, Elon neh Jaheel,
And the sons of Zebulon, —Sered and Elon, and Jahleel.
15 Paddanaram ah Jakob ham a sak pah Leah koca rhoek te a canu Dinah nen tah a pum la huta tongpa hinglu thumkip pathum lo.
These, are the sons of Leah whom she bare to Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah also his daughter, —All the souls of his sons and of his daughters, were thirty-three.
16 Gad ca rhoek la Ziphion, Hakki, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi neh Areli,
And, the sons of Gad, —Zaphon and Haggi, Shuni and Ezbon, —Eri and Arodi and Areli;
17 Asher ca rhoek la Imnah, Ishua, Ishee, Beriah neh a ngannu Serah om tih Beriah ca la Heber neh Malkhiel om.
And, the sons of Asher, —Imnah and Ishvah and Ishvi and Beriah, and Serah their sister, —and the sons of Beriah, Heber and Malchiel.
18 Amih he Laban loh a canu Leah taengah a paek Zilpah koca rhoek ni. Te dongah anih loh Jakob ham a sak pah he hinglu la hlai rhuk lo.
These, are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —sixteen souls.
19 Jakob yuu Rakhel ca rhoi la Joseph neh Benjamin om.
The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife, —Joseph and Benjamin;
20 Joseph loh Egypt kho ah a om vaengkah a ca sak la Oni khosoih Potiphera canu Asenath loh Manasseh neh Ephraim a sak pah.
And there were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath daughter of Poti-phera, priest of On, bare to him: Manasseh and Ephraim;
21 Benjamin ca rhoek khaw Bela, Bekher, Ashbel Gera, Naaman Ehi, Rosh Muppin, Huppim neh Ard om.
And the sons of Benjamin—Bela and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, —Muppim and Huppim, and Ard.
22 Jakob ham a sak pah Rakhel koca rhoek kah hinglu boeih he hlai li lo.
These, are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob, —all the souls, were fourteen.
23 Dan ca la Hushim om.
And, the sons of Dan, —Hushim;
24 Naphtali ca rhoek la Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer neh Shillem om.
And the sons of Naphtali, —Jahzeel and Guni, and Jezer and Shillem.
25 Laban loh a canu Rakhel a paek tih Jakob ham ca aka sak pah Bilhah koca kah hinglu boeih te parhih lo.
These, are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, —so she bare these to Jacob, —all the souls, were seven.
26 Te dongah Jakob ca rhoek kah a yuu rhoek te a hoep phoeiah Jakob amah pum dongkah aka poe tih Egypt la a caeh puei hinglu boeih he hinglu sawmrhuk parhuk boeih louh.
All the souls that came in with Jacob to Egypt that had come forth of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, —all the souls, were sixty-six;
27 Joseph loh Egypt kah a cun a ca rhoi hinglu panit nen ngawn tah a pum boeih la Egypt aka paan Jakob imkhui he hinglu sawmrhih lo.
and, the sons of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls: All the souls of the house of Jacob that came into Egypt, were seventy.
28 Te vaengah Judah te Goshen hil a hmai ah thuinuet ham Joseph taengah a hmai la a tueih tih Goshen khohmuen te a pha uh.
And he sent, Judah, before him unto Joseph, to direct his face to Goshen, —so they came in towards the land of Goshen.
29 Joseph khaw amah kah leng te a khih tih a napa Israel doe ham Goshen la cet. Te dongah a napa te a hmuh neh a rhawn ah a kop tih a rhawn dongah puet rhap.
Then yoked Joseph his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father towards Goshen, —and he appeared unto him, and fell upon his neck, and wept upon his neck a good while.
30 Te vaengah Israel loh Joseph la, “Na hing pueng tih na maelhmai ka hmuh coeng dongah ka duek thai pawn ni,” a ti nah.
Then said Israel unto Joseph I am ready to die at last, —now that I have seen thy face, in that thou art, yet alive.
31 Te phoeiah Joseph loh a manuca rhoek taeng neh a napa cako taengah, “Pharaoh yaak sak ham ka cet vetih, 'Kanaan kho kah ka manuca rhoek neh a pa cako te kai taengla ha pawk uh coeng.
Then said Joseph unto his brethren and unto the house of his father, I must go up, and must tell Pharaoh—and must say unto him, My brethren, and the house of my father, who were in the land of Canaan, have come in unto me.
32 Tedae tekah hlang rhoek te boiva aka dawn hlang la om uh oeh tih boiva khaw a dawn uh dongah amamih kah boiva neh saelhung a khueh uh boeih te han khuen uh,’ ka ti nah ni.
Now, the men, are feeders of flocks, for men of cattle, they are, —and their flocks and their herds and all that they have, have they brought in.
33 Te vaengah Pharaoh loh nangmih n'uen tih, 'Na bibi balae,’ a ti ni.
So shall it come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call for you, —and shall say—What is your occupation?

Then shall ye say—Men of cattle, have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers, —To the end ye may dwell in the land of Goshen, for an abomination to Egyptians, is every feeder of a flock,
