14 Bigvai koca lamloh Uthai, Zabbud, Zakkuur neh a taengkah tongpa sawmrhih.
Of the descendants of Bigvai, Uthai and Zaccur and with him were listed seventy males.
15 Amih te Ahava la aka pawk tuiva ah ka tingtun sak tih hnin thum pahoi ka rhaeh uh. Te vaengah pilnam khui neh khosoih khuikah te ka yakming dae Levi koca rhoek lamkah ka hmu pawh.
I gathered the travelers at the canal that goes to Ahava, and we camped there three days. I examined the people and priests, but could not find any descendants of Levi there.
16 Te phoeiah boeilu rhoek Eliezer ham, Ariel ham, Shemaiah ham neh, Elnathan ham neh Jarib ham khaw, Elnathan ham neh Nathan ham khaw, Zekhariah ham neh Meshullam ham khaw, aka yakming thai Joiarib neh Elnathan ham khaw ka tueih.
So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, and Elnathan and Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam—who were leaders—and for Joiarib and Elnathan—who were teachers.
17 Te te ka khuen sak tih Kasiphia hmuen kah boeilu Iddo taengah ka uen. A manuca Iddo taengah thui ham ol te amih ka dongah ka khueh pah coeng. Mamih kah Pathen im ah aka thohtat te mamih taengla hang khuen ham te Kasiphia hmuen kah tamtaeng rhoek a khueh.
Next I sent them to Iddo, the leader in Kasiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his relatives, the temple servants living in Kasiphia, that is, to send to us servants for the house of God.
18 Kaimih kah Pathen kah kut he kaimih soah a then dongah ni kaimih taengla lungming hlang ha pawk. Israel ca Mahli koca lamloh Levi capa khaw, Sherebiah neh anih koca rhoek khaw a boeinaphung hlai rhet lo.
So they sent us by our God's good hand a man named Sherebiah, a prudent man. He was a descendant of Mahli son of Levi son of Israel. He came with eighteen sons and brothers.
19 Hashabiah neh a taengkah a manuca Merari koca Isaiah. Te dongah amih koca te pakul lo.
With him came Hashabiah. There also were Jeshaiah, one of the sons of Merari, with his brothers and their sons, twenty men in all.
20 Tamtaeng rhoek te khaw David neh mangpa rhoek loh Levi kah thothuengnah dongkah ham a paek. Tamtaeng boeih a ming neh yahnih pakul la mingpha ngawn.
Of those assigned to serve in the temple, whom David and his officials gave to serve the Levites: 220, each of them assigned by name.
21 Kaimih kah Pathen mikhmuh ah yalh sak ham neh amah te toem hamla, kaimih ham neh ka ca rhoek ham khaw, kaimih kah khuehtawn boeih ham longpuei thuem sak ham khaw, Ahava tuiva ah yaehnah pahoi ka doek.
Then I proclaimed a fast at the Ahava Canal to humble ourselves before God, to seek a straight path from him for us, our little ones, and all our possessions.
22 Manghai taengah tah, 'Kaimih kah Pathen kut he amah aka tlap boeih soah then dae amah aka hnawt boeih soah a sarhi neh a thintoek om,” ka ti nah tih ka thui coeng dongah longpueng kah thunkha taeng lamloh kaimih aka bom la manghai taengah tatthai neh marhang caem bih ham ka yak.
I was ashamed to ask the king for an army or horsemen to protect us against enemies along the way, since we had said to the king, 'The hand of our God is on all who seek him for good, but his might and wrath are on all who forget him.'
23 He ham he ka yaeh uh tangloeng tih ka Pathen taengah aka toem uh daengah kaimih he n'rhoi.
So we fasted and sought God about this, and we pled to him.
24 Te vaengah khosoih mangpa rhoek lamkah te Sherebiah, Hashabiah neh hlai nit la ka hoep. Amih te a boeinaphung ah parha lo.
Next I selected twelve men from the priestly officials: Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brothers.
25 Amih ham te cak neh sui khaw mah Pathen im kah khosaa hnopai te ka khiing khaw ka khiing pah coeng. Te te manghai neh a olrhoep rhoek loh, a mangpa rhoek neh Israel aka pumphoe boeih loh a tloeng uh.
I weighed out for them silver, gold, and the objects and offerings for the house of God that the king, his counselors and officials, and all Israel had freely offered.
26 Amih kut ah cak talent rhui ya rhuk sawmnga, cakben hnopai talent yakhat, sui talent yakhat ka khiing pah.
So I weighed into their hand 650 talents of silver, one hundred talents of silver objects, one hundred talents of gold,
27 Sui bael pakul, suitangka la thawngkhat lo. Rhohum hnopai cim khaw a rhaep la then tih sui bangla a naikap.
twenty gold bowls that were together valued at one thousand darics, and two well-polished bronze vessels as precious as gold.
28 Te vaengah amih te, “Nangmih tah BOEIPA taengah hlangcim neh hmuencim hnopai ni. Cak neh sui khaw na pa rhoek kah Pathen BOEIPA taengkah kothoh paek coeng ni.
Then I said to them, “You are consecrated to Yahweh, and these objects also, and the silver and gold are a freewill offering to Yahweh, the God of your ancestors.
29 Jerusalem BOEIPA im, imkhan kah khosoih mangpa rhoek, Levi rhoek, Israel napa rhoek kah mangpa mikhmuh ah n'khiing hil hak uh lamtah ngaithuen uh,” ka ti nah.
Watch over them and keep them until you weigh them out before the priestly officials, Levites, and leaders of the ancestors' clans of Israel in Jerusalem in the rooms of God's house.”
30 Te phoeiah tah khosoih rhoek neh Levi rhoek loh cak neh sui neh hnopai a khiing te Jerusalem ah kaimih kah PathenBOEIPA im la thak ham a doe uh.
The priests and the Levites accepted the weighed silver, gold, and the objects in order to take them to Jerusalem, to our God's house.
31 Jerusalem la caeh ham te hla khat hnin hlai nit vaengah Ahava tuiva lamloh hlah uh. Te vaengah kaimih kah Pathen kut tah kaimih soah om tih kaimih he longpueng kah thunkha neh rhongngol kut lamloh n'huul.
We went out from the Ahava Canal on the twelfth day of the first month to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us; he protected us from the hand of the enemy and the ones who wished to ambush us along the road.
32 Jerusalem ka pha uh van neh hnin thum pahoi ka duem uh.
So we entered Jerusalem and stayed there for three days.
33 A hnin li dongah tah ka Pathen im ah cak, sui neh hnopai te khosoih Uriah capa Meremoth kut dongla ka khiing pauh. Anih taengah Phinekha capa Eleazar, Jeshua capa Jozabad, Levi Binnui capa Noadiah khaw om.
Then on the fourth day the silver, gold, and objects were weighed out in our God's house into the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah the priest, and with him were Eleazar son of Phinehas, Jozabad son of Jeshua, and Noadiah son of Binnui the Levite.
34 A khiing boeih kah a tarhing neh te vaeng tue kah a khiing te boeih a thum sak.
The number and weight of everything was determined. All the weight was written down at that time.
35 Tamna lamkah aka mael vangsawn koca rhoek loh Israel Pathen taengah hmueihhlutnah a nawn uh. BOEIPA taengkah hmueihhlutnah boeih he Israel pum ham vaito hlai nit, tutal sawmko parhuk, tuca sawmrhih parhih, boirhaem maae tal hlai nit lo.
The ones who came back from the captivity, the people of exile, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all of Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve male goats as a sin offering. All were a burnt offering for Yahweh.
36 Manghai kah olkhan rhoek te manghai kah khoboei rhoek taeng neh tuiva rhalvangan kah rhalboei taengla a paek uh. Te dongah pilnam neh Pathen im te khaw a talong uh.
Then they gave the king's decrees to the king's high officials and the governors in the Province Beyond the River, and they helped the people and the house of God.
