1 Hlang loh vaito khaw, tu khaw a huen tih a ngawn akhaw, a yoih akhaw vaito ham te saelhung panga neh tu ham boiva pumli neh thuung saeh.
And if one steal an ox or a sheep, and kill it or sell it, he shall pay five calves for a calf, and four sheep for a sheep.
2 Umlawt ah hlanghuen a hmuh tih a boh vaengah a duek atah a taengah thii kap boel saeh.
And if the thief be found in the breach [made by himself] and be struck and die, there shall not be blood shed for him.
3 Khomik a thoeng atah a soah thii kap saeh lamtah aka huen loh sah rhoe sah saeh. A khueh pawt atah a huen dongah amah khaw yoi uh saeh.
But if the sun be risen upon him, he is guilty, he shall die instead; and if a thief have nothing, let him be sold in compensation for what he has stolen.
4 A huen te a kut dongah a hmuh la a hmuh atah vaito khaw, laak khaw, tu khaw a hing neh rhaepnit la sah saeh.
And if the thing stolen be left and be in his hand alive, whether ox or sheep, he shall restore them two-fold.
5 Hlang loh lohma neh misurdum a laem sak vaengah a rhamsa te a hlah tih a rhamsa loh a tloe lohma li te a laem pa atah a khohmuen lamkah a then, a misurdum kah aka then neh thuung saeh.
And if any one should feed down a field or a vineyard, and should send in his beast to feed down another field, he shall make compensation of his own field according to his produce; and if he shall have fed down the whole field, he shall pay for compensation the best of his own field and the best of his vineyard.
6 Hmai puek tih hling a dom vaengah canghlom neh canghli khaw, lohma khaw, a hlawp atah hmai aka hlong loh sah rhoe sah saeh.
And if fire have gone forth and caught thorns, and should also set on fire threshing-floors or ears of corn or a field, he that kindled the fire shall make compensation.
7 Hlang loh a hui te tangka khaw hnopai khaw khoembael sak ham a paek. Tedae im lamkah te hlang loh a huen tih hlanghuen te a hmuh atah a rhaep la thuung saeh.
And if any one give to his neighbour money or goods to keep, and they be stolen out of the man's house, if the thief be found he shall repay double.
8 Hlanghuen te a hmuh pawt atah a hui kah hno dongah a kut hlah pawt cakhaw im kung te Pathen taengla kun saeh.
But if the thief be not found, the master of the house shall come forward before God, and shall swear that surely he has not wrought wickedly in regard of any part of his neighbour's deposit,
9 Boekoeknah olka cungkuem dongah vaito khaw, laak khaw, tu khaw, himbai khaw, he hnohma ni a ti boeih tah a panit la Pathen mikhmuh ah ol hang khuen saeh. Pathen kah a boe sak long te tah a hui te a rhaep la sah saeh.
according to every injury alleged, both concerning a calf, and an ass, and a sheep, and a garment, and every alleged loss, whatever in fact it may be, —the judgement of both shall proceed before God, and he that is convicted by God shall repay to his neighbour double.
10 Hlang loh a hui taengah laak neh vaito, tu neh rhamsa cungkuem khaw dawn ham a paek dae, duek mai tih tlawt mai ni, a hmuh pawt vaengah khaw a mawt pah khaming.
And if any one give to his neighbour to keep a calf or sheep or any beast, and it be wounded or die or be taken, and no one know,
11 Te vaengah a hui kah hnopai soah a kut hlah pawt ham amih rhoi laklo aBOEIPA kah olhlo om saeh. A kungmah long khaw doe saeh lamtah sah boel saeh.
an oath of God shall be between both, [each swearing] that he has surely not at all been guilty in the matter of his neighbour's deposit; and so his master shall hold him guiltless, and he shall not make compensation.
12 Tedae anih taeng lamloh a huen la a huen atah a kungmah te sah saeh.
And if it be stolen from him, he shall make compensation to the owner.
13 Te te a ngaeh rhoe a ngaeh tila laipai hang khuen atah saha te sah boel saeh.
And if it be seized of beasts, he shall bring him to [witness] the prey, and he shall not make compensation.
14 Hlang loh a hui taeng lamkah a vat dae a taengah a kungmah a om pawt vaengah a khaem sak tih a duek atah sah rhoe sah saeh.
And if any one borrow [ought] of his neighbour, and it be wounded or die or be carried away, and the owner of it be not with it, he shall make compensation.
15 A kungmah te a taengah a om atah sah boel saeh. Te te a kutloh coeng atah a thapang neh mael saeh.
But if the owner be with it, he shall not make compensation: but if it be a hired thing, there shall be [a compensation] to him instead of his hire.
16 tongpa loh oila a bae mueh te a yoek tih a taengah a yalh atah a yuu la oei rhoe oei saeh.
And if any one deceive a virgin that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her for a wife to himself.
17 A napa loh hula te anih taengah paek ham a aal la a aal atah oila kah maan bangla tangka thuek pah saeh.
And if her father positively refuse, and will not consent to give her to him for a wife, he shall pay compensation to her father according to the amount of the dowry of virgins.
18 Hlangbi khaw hing sak boeh.
You shall not save the lives of sorcerers.
19 Rhamsa taengkah aka yalh boeih tah duek rhoe duek saeh.
Every one that lies with a beast you shall surely put to death.
20 Yahweh amah bueng taeng pawt ah pathen tloe rhoek taengah aka nawn tah thup saeh.
He that sacrifices to any gods but to the Lord alone, shall be destroyed by death.
21 Yinlai khaw vuelvaek boeh, Egypt kho ah yinlai la na om uh coeng dongah nen boeh.
And you shall not hurt a stranger, nor afflict him; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
22 Nuhmai neh cadah boeih tah phaep boeh.
You shall hurt no widow or orphan.
23 Na phaep la na phaep tih kai taengah a pang la a pang atah a pangngawlnah te ka hnatun rhoe ka hnatun pah ni.
And if you should afflict them by ill-treatment, and they should cry aloud to me, I will surely hear their voice.
24 Te vaengah ka thintoek sai vetih nangmih te cunghang neh kang ngawn ni. Na yuu rhoek te nuhmai la, na ca rhoek khaw cadah la om uh ni.
And I will be very angry, and will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows and your children orphans.
25 Nangmih taengkah ka pilnam mangdaeng te tangka na hlah pah atah a taengah puhlah bangla om boeh. Anih te a casai khueh pah boeh.
And if you should lend money to your poor brother who is by you, you shall not be hard upon him you shall not exact usury of him.
26 Na hui kah himbai te na laikoi la na laikoi atah khomik a khum hlan ah amah taengla mael laeh.
And if you take your neighbour's garment for a pledge, you shall restore it to him before sunset.
27 A himbai khaw te kah himbai bueng ni a vin sokah a himbai dongah metlam a yalh eh? Ka lungvatnah oeh dongah ka taengla a pang vaengah ka hnatun pah ni ta.
For this is his clothing, this is the only covering of his nakedness; wherein shall he sleep? If then he shall cry to me, I will listen to him, for I am merciful.
28 Pathen te thaephoei boeh, na pilnam sokah khoboei khaw thaephoei thil boeh.
You shall not revile the gods, nor speak ill of the ruler of your people.
29 Na thaihhmin neh na tuihuem khaw hloh thil boeh, na ca caming khaw kamah taengla m'pae.
You shall not keep back the first fruits of your threshing floor and press. The firstborn of your sons you shall give to me.
30 Na vaito taeng neh na boiva taengah khaw saii tangloeng. Hnin rhih khuiah a manu neh om saeh lamtah hnin rhet dongah tah kamah taengla m'pae.
So shall you do with your calf and your sheep and your ass; seven days shall it be under the mother, and the eighth day you shall give it to me.
31 Kamah taengah hlang cim la om uh laeh. Khohmuen kah saha saa khaw ca uh boeh. Te te ui ham voeih pah.
And you shall be holy men to me; and you shall not eat flesh taken of beasts, you shall cast it to the dog.
