< Olrhaepnah 29 >
1 Te hae kahhe Moab kho ah Israel ca rhoek neh moi a boh vaengah tahae kah olka he BOEIPA loh Moses a uen tih Horeb ah khaw amih taengah moi a boh thil bal.
These are the words of the covenant which the Lord instructed Moses to form with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, beside that covenant which he struck with them at Horeb.
2 Te vaengah Israel pum te Moses loh a hueh tih, “BOEIPA loh na mikhmuh ah Egypt kho kah Pharaoh neh a sal rhoek boeih, a diklai boeih a saii te boeih na hmuh uh.
And Moses called all of Israel, and he said to them: “You have seen all the things that the Lord has done in your sight in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to his entire land:

4 Tedae ming thai ham lungbuei, hmuh thainah ham mik, yaak thainah ham nah hna khaw tihnin duela BOEIPA loh nangmih m'pae pawt nim?
But the Lord has not given you an understanding heart, and seeing eyes, and ears that are able to hear, even to this present day.
5 Nangmih te khosoek ah kum likip kam mawt tih na pum dongkah na himbai loh hmawn pawh. Na kho dongkah na khokhom khaw hmawn pawh.
He led you for forty years through the desert. Your garments have not been worn out, nor have the shoes on your feet been consumed by age.
6 Buh na ca uh pawt tih misurtui neh yu na ok uh pawt daengah kai he BOEIPA na Pathen la nan ming uh.
You did not eat bread, nor did you drink wine or liquor, so that you would know that I am the Lord your God.
7 Hekah hmuen na pha uh vaengah caemtloek neh mamih doe hamla Heshbon manghai Sihon neh Bashan manghai Oga ha pawk tih amih rhoi te n'tloek uh.
And you arrived at this place. And Sihon, the king of Heshbon, and Og, the king of Bashan, went out to meet us in battle. And we struck them down.
8 Amih khohmuen te n'loh uh tih Reuben koca, Gad koca neh Manasseh koca hlangvang taengah rho la m'paek uh.
And we took their land and delivered it as a possession to Ruben and to Gad, and to half of the tribe of Manasseh.
9 Te dongah paipi ol he ngaithuen uh lamtah vai uh. Te daengah ni na saii boeih te na cangbam uh thai eh.
Therefore, keep the words of this covenant, and fulfill them, so that you may understand all that you are doing.
10 Tihnin ah nangmih na Pathen BOEIPA mikhmuh kah aka pai nangmih boeih khaw, na boeilu rhoek khaw, namah koca rhoek khaw, nangmih a hamca rhoek neh Israel hlang khaw,
Today, you all stand in the sight of the Lord your God: your leaders, and tribes, and those greater by birth, and teachers, all the people of Israel,
11 na yuu na ca neh na rhaehhmuen khuiah na thing aka top tih na tui aka than yinlai khaw,
your children and wives, and the new arrival who dwells with you in the camp, aside from those who cut wood, and those who bring water,

so that you may cross into the covenant of the Lord your God, and into the oath which the Lord your God strikes with you today.
13 Tihnin ah nang te amah kah pilnam la pai sak vetih namah taeng neh na pa rhoek Abraham, Isaak, Jakob taengkah a toemngam tih a thui vanbangla na Pathen la ha om ni.
So shall he raise you up as a people to himself, and so shall he be your God, just as he has spoken to you, and just as he swore to your fathers: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
14 Tahae kah paipi neh olcaeng he namah neh namah loh na saii pawt tih kamah long ni ka saii.
And I am not forming this covenant and confirm these oaths with you alone,

but with all those who are present as well as those who are absent.
16 Egypt kho ah metla ng'om tih namtom lakli ah na caeh uh vaengah metla na caeh uh khaw namamih loh na ming uh.
For you know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we passed through the midst of nations. And when passing through them,
17 Amih taengkah a sarhingkoi la thingngo, lungto, sui neh ngun mueirhol te na hmuh uh.
you saw their abominations and filth, that is, their idols of wood and of stone, of silver and of gold, which they worshipped,
18 Mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA taeng lamloh a thinko aka maelh tih namtom pathen taengah thothueng hamla aka cet huta, tongpa khaw, huiko neh, pilnam koca he tihnin kah nangmih khuiah om ve. Anrhat neh pantong yung aka pungtai loh nangmih taengah om ve.
so that there would not be among you man or woman, family or tribe, whose heart has been turned away this day from the Lord our God, so as to go and serve the gods of those nations. For then there would be among you a root springing forth gall and bitterness.
19 Te dongah tahae kah thaephoei ol a yaak vaengah a thinko khuiah yoethen pae uh vetih, “Ka lungbuei thinthahnah ah ka pongpa daengah ni khosul tuihalh neh ka khoengvoep vetih kai ham ngaimongnah a om eh?,” ti ve.
And if he were to hear the words of this oath, he would bless himself in his own heart saying: ‘There will be peace for me, and I will walk in the depravity of my heart.’ And so, the one who is inebriated would consume the one who is thirsty.
20 BOEIPA loh anih te khodawkngai ham a ngaih moenih. BOEIPA kah thintoek neh amah hlang taengkah a thatlainah tah khuu yoeyah ni. Te dongah he cabu dongkah a daek thaephoeinah boeih he anih soah kol ni. Te vaengah BOEIPA loh anih ming te vaan hmui lamloh a phae ni.
But the Lord would not ignore him. Instead, at that time, his fury and zealousness would be very greatly enflamed against that man, and all the curses which have been written in this volume would settle upon him. And the Lord would abolish his name from under heaven,
21 Te dongah tahae kah olkhueng cabu khuiah a daek thaephoeinah paipi cungkuem van bangla Israel koca boeih khui kah khaw BOEIPA loh yoethaenah la a boe ni.
and consume him unto perdition out of all the tribes of Israel, according to the curses which are contained in the book of this law and in the covenant.
22 Te vaengah nangmih hnuk lamkah aka thoo na ca rhoek, lamhnuk kah cadilcahma neh kho hla lamkah aka pai kholong long khaw thui saeh. He khohmuen kah hmasoe neh BOEIPA loh anih soah a tloh sak a tlohtat te hmu uh saeh.
And the subsequent generation would speak out, along with the sons who will be born afterward. And the sojourners, who will arrive from far away, will see the plagues of that land and the infirmities with which the Lord will have afflicted it,
23 Kat neh lungkaeh khohmuen ungkhang boeih he tawn uh pawt vetih baelhing loh pakhat khaw a daih mueh la poe mahpawh. Sodom neh Gomorrah imrhong bangla Admah neh Zeboiim khaw BOEIPA loh amah kah kosi thintoek neh a palet ni.
having burned it with sulphur and molten salt, so that it can no longer be sown. And certainly no greenery would spring up, as in the example of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overturned with his wrath and fury.
24 Te vaengah namtom rhoek loh balae tih khohmuen he BOEIPA loh thintoek thinling neh boeih a saii aih,” a ti uh ni.
And so, all the nations would say: ‘Why has the Lord acted this way toward this land? What is this immense wrath of his fury?’
25 Tedae, “Egypt kho lamkah amih hang khuen vaengah a napa rhoek kah BOEIPA Pathen loh amih neh a saii paipi te a hnoo uh dongah ni te,” a ti uh ni.
And they will respond: ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord, which he formed with their fathers, when he led them away from the land of Egypt.
26 Cet uh tih pathen tloe taengah tho a thueng uh dongah amih taengah bakop uh. Te pathen rhoek loh amih te ming uh pawt tih amih ham boe a soep moenih.
And they have served foreign gods, and adored them, though they did not know them, and though they had not been allotted to them.
27 Te dongah cabu dongkah a daek rhunkhuennah boeih he khuen thil ham BOEIPA kah thintoek tah khohmuen taengah sai coeng.
For this reason, the fury of the Lord was enraged against this land, so as to lead over it all the curses which have been written in this volume.
28 BOEIPA loh amih te khohmuen khui lamkah thintoek kosi thinhul bat la a phuk vetih kho tloe ah tihnin kah bangla a voeih ni.
And he has cast them out of their own land, with anger and fury, and with a very great indignation, and he has thrown them into a strange land, just as has been proven this day.’
29 Mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA taengah thuh cakhaw kumhal duela vai ham olkhueng ol boeih he mamih taeng neh mamih kah n'ca rhoek taengah ha phoe coeng.
These hidden things of the Lord our God have been revealed to us and to our sons in perpetuity, so that we may accomplish all the words of this law.”
