You shall not sacrifice to Adonai your God an ox, or a sheep, in which is a defect, or anything evil; for that is an abomination to Adonai your God.
2 A paipi a poe tih BOEIPA na Pathen mikhmuh ah thae aka saii huta tongpa loh BOEIPA na Pathen kah m'paek na vongka khui boeih kah namah taengah a pongpa te a hmuh bal oeh atah,
If there is found among you, within any of your gates which Adonai your God gives you, a man or woman who does that which is evil in Adonai your God’s sight, in transgressing his covenant,
3 pathen tloe taengah thothueng ham neh khomik taengah, hla taengah, vaan caempuei khat khat taengah aka bakop ham kang uen moenih.
and has gone and abad ·served· other deities, and hawa ·bowed low, prostrated· in worship to them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the stars of the sky, which I have not enjoined;
4 Nang taengkah a thui te na yaak vaengah tuektuek cae lamtah tueilaehkoi hno he Israel khui lamkah loh a saii te oltak la a sikim atah,
and you are told, and you have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· of it, then you shall inquire diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such detestable things are being done in Israel [God prevails],
5 huta khaw tongpa khaw rhen khuen. Na vongka khuiah khoboe thae aka saii tah huta khaw tongpa khaw lungto neh dae lamtah duek uh kangna saeh.
then you shall bring out that man or that woman, who has done this evil thing, to your gates, even that same man or woman; and you shall stone them to death with stones.
6 Aka duek tueng khaw laipai pakhat kah a ka dongkah neh duek tarha pawt vetih laipai panit pathum ka dongkah ol a om daengah ni a duek eh.
At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death. At the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
7 Anih duek sak ham vaengah lamhma la laipai rhoek loh kut hlah thil saeh. A hnuk la pilnam pum loh kut hlah saeh lamtah na khui lamkah boethae te hnawt.
The hand of the witnesses shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
8 Laitloeknah dongah olka te nang ham rhaisang tih na vongka khuikah tuituknah olka a om vaengah thii hamla thii, dumlai hamla dumlai, nganboh hamla nganboh van a ti coeng atah thoo lamtah BOEIPA na Pathen loh amah ham a coelh nah hmuen la cet.
If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates; then you shall arise, and go up to the place which Adonai your God chooses.
9 Te phoeiah Levi khosoih rhoek neh amah khohnin kah laitloek la aka om te paan lamtah dawtlet. Te phoeiah nang ham laitloeknah dumlai te han thui uh saeh.
You shall come to the priests who are Levites [Descendants of United with], and to the judge who shall be in those days. You shall inquire, and they shall give you the mishpat ·verdict·.
10 BOEIPA kah a coelh nah hmuen ah nang ham a thui uh olka tarhing te tah saii. Te dongah nang n'thuinuet boeih vanbangla saii ham ngaithuen.
You shall do according to the decisions of the verdict which they shall give you from that place which Adonai chooses. You shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach you:
11 Nang ham han thuinuet uh olkhueng neh nang taengah han thui uh laitloeknah a tarhing ah saii lamtah nang hamla a thui uh olka te khaw banvoei bantang la phaelh boeh.
according to the decisions of the Torah ·Teaching· which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do. You shall not turn aside from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand, nor to the left.
12 Hlang he althanah neh aka saii, na Pathen BOEIPA taengah thotat ham neh laitloek ham aka pai khosoih ol aka hnatun pawt tah, te hlang te duek saeh lamtah Israel lamkah boethae te khoe pah.
The man who does presumptuously, in not sh'ma ·hear obey· unto the priest who stands to minister there before Adonai your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die. You shall put away the evil from Israel [God prevails].
13 Te daengah ni pilnam boeih loh a yaak uh vaengah a rhih uh vetih koep a lokhak uh pawt eh.
All the people shall sh'ma ·hear obey·, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.
14 BOEIPA na Pathen loh nang m'paek khohmuen te na kun tih na pang phoeikah kho na sak vaengah, “Ka kaepvai kah namtom rhoek bangla kamah soah manghai ka khueh van ni,” na ti oeh atah,
When you have come to the land which Adonai your God gives you, and possess it, and dwell in it, and say, “I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me;”
15 BOEIPA na Pathen kah a coelh na manuca khui kah te tah namah soah manghai la na khueh rhoe la na khueh ni. Namah sokah aka manghai la hlang na tuek vaengah kholong hlang tah namah soah na khueh ham coeng thai mahpawh. Anih te na manuca moenih.
you shall surely set him king over yourselves, whom Adonai your God chooses. You shall set as king over you one from among your brothers. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.
16 Tekah manghai loh marhang khaw amah ham ping sak boel saeh. Marhang aka ping sak ham khaw pilnam te Egypt la na balkhong sak mahpawh. Te dongah ni BOEIPA loh nang taegah, “Tekah longpuei ah koep balkhong ham na khoep mahpawh,” a ti tih a thui.
Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to teshuvah ·completely return· to Egypt [Abode of slavery], to the end that he may multiply horses; because Adonai has said to you, “You shall not go back that way again.”
17 A yuu khaw yet boel saehlamtah a thinko phaelh boel saeh. Tangka neh sui khaw amah ham muep kuk boel saeh.
He shall not multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away. He shall not greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
18 A ram kah ngolkhoel dongah ngol ham a om vaengah Levi khosoih rhoek taengkah cabu dongah aka om olkhueng te cabu a toeng dongah amah ham koep daek saeh.
It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write himself a copy of this Torah ·Teaching· in a book, out of that which is before the priests the Levites [Descendants of United with].
19 Te phoeiah cabu te amah taengah om saeh lamtah a hing tue khui boeih ah amah ham tae saeh. Te daengah ni BOEIPA a Pathen a rhih khaw, olkhueng olka boeih a ngaithuen ham neh he rhoek kah oltlueh a vai ham khaw a cang eh.
It shall be with him, and he shall read from it all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear Adonai his God, to keep all the words of this Torah ·Teaching· and these statutes, to do them;
20 A manuca te a thin pom thil boel saeh lamtah olpaek te banvoei bantang la phaelh boel saeh. Te daengah ni Israel lakli kah amah ram ah amah neh a ca rhoek loh a hinglung a vang eh.
that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he not turn aside from the mitzvah ·instruction·, to the right hand, or to the left; to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the middle of Israel [God prevails].
