1 Te vaengkah Barnabas neh Niger la a khue Simeon, Kurena hoel Lukia, khoboei Herod kah thawnpuei Manaen neh Saul te Antiok kah aka poe hlangboel taengah tonghma neh saya la om uh.
Now there were in Antioch, in the assembly which was [there], prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, and Manaen, foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 Amih khaw Boeipa taengkah thothueng neh a yaeh uh vaengah Mueihla Cim loh, “Barnabas neh Sual tah kai ham hoep uh laeh. Amih rhoi te kamah bibi ham ni ka khue,” a ti nah.
And as they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me now Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.
3 Te dongah caak yaeh neh aka thangthui rhoek loh amih rhoi te kut a tloeng thil uh tih a tueih uh.
Then, having fasted and prayed, and having laid [their] hands on them, they let [them] go.
4 Te phoeiah Mueihla Cim kah a tueih van bangla amih rhoi tah Seleukia la cet rhoi. Te lamloh Kupros la kat uh.
They therefore, having been sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and thence sailed away to Cyprus.
5 Salami kah a om vaengah khaw Judah rhoek kah tunim ah Pathen kah olka te a doek rhoi tih Johan te tueihyoeih la a khueh rhoi.
And being in Salamis, they announced the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John also as [their] attendant.
6 Paphos duela tuisanglak te boeih a hil rhoi vaengah laithae tonghma kholo hlangcueih hlang pakhat te a hmuh rhoi. Anih te Judah ming ah Bar-Jesuh la om.
And having passed through the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a certain man a magician, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus,
7 Anih tah tongpa lungming, Sergius khoboei Paul taengah om. Te long tah Pathen kah olka te yaak ham a toem dongah Barnabas neh Saul te a khue.
who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. He, having called Barnabas and Saul to [him], desired to hear the word of God.
8 Tedae amih rhoi te kholo hlangcueih Elymas loh a oelh. Amah ming loh a thuingaih tangloeng dongah khoboei pa te tangnah dong lamloh paimaelh ham a mae.
But Elymas the magician (for so his name is by interpretation) opposed them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.
9 Tedae Saul Anih tah Paul ni tah Mueihla Cim neh a baetawt dongah anih te a hmaitang tih,
But Saul, who also [is] Paul, filled with [the] Holy Spirit, fixing his eyes upon him,
10 “Tuengkhuepnah cungkuem, omthae cungkuem neh aka baetawt tih duengnah boeih kah a rhal rhaithae capa aw Boeipa kah longpuei dueng na maelh te toeng boeh ne.
said, O full of all deceit and all craft: son of [the] devil, enemy of all righteousness; wilt thou not cease perverting the right paths of [the] Lord?
11 Tedae Boeipa kut loh nang n'nan thil coeng he. Mikdaella na om vetih khoning pakhat dongah khomik na hmu mahpawh,” a ti nah. Te vaengah khomai neh yinnah loh anih te pahoi a tlak thil. Te dongah tinghil tih mawtkung a toem.
And now behold, [the] Lord's hand [is] upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell upon him a mist and darkness; and going about he sought persons who should lead him by the hand.
12 Hno aka om te khoboei pa loh a hmuh vaengah Boeipa kah thuituennah dongah let tih a tangnah.
Then the proconsul, seeing what had happened, believed, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.
13 Te phoeiah Paul taengkah rhoek tah Paphos lamloh nong uh tih Pamphylia kah Perga la pawk uh. Tedae Johan tah amih taeng lamloh mael tih Jerusalem la bal.
And having sailed from Paphos, Paul and his company came to Perga of Pamphylia; and John separated from them and returned to Jerusalem.
14 Amih ngawn tah Perga lamloh cet uh tih Pisidia kah Antiok la pawk uh. Tedae Sabbath hnin ah tah tunim la kun uh tih ngol uh.
But they, passing through from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia; and entering into the synagogue on the sabbath day they sat down.
15 Olkhueng neh tonghma rhoek kah cabu te taenah a boeih phoeiah amih te tamtaeng loh a tah tih, “Ka manuca neh ka hlang rhoek, pilnam ham thaphonah olka te nangmih taengah pakhat khaw a om atah thui uh,” a ti nah.
And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation to the people, speak.
16 Te dongah Paul loh pai tih kut a cavoih phoeiah, “Israel hlang rhoek neh Pathen aka rhih rhoek, hnatun uh lah.
And Paul, rising up and making a sign with the hand, said, Israelites, and ye that fear God, hearken.
17 Israel pilnam kah Pathen loh a pa rhoek he ana tuek dongah Egypt kho ah yinlai la aka om pataeng pilnam la a pomsang. Te dongah ni a khui lamkah amih te a ban neh a sang la a doek.
The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people in their sojourn in [the] land of Egypt, and with a high arm brought them out of it,
18 Te phoeiah amih te kum likip tluk khosoek ah a parhaeng.
and for a time of about forty years he nursed them in the desert.
19 Kanaan kho kah namtu parhih te a hlak tih a khohmuen neh kum yali sawmnga khuiah m'phaeng.
And having destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance.
20 Te phoeiah laitloekkung rhoek neh tonghma Samuel taeng duela a paek.
And after these things he gave [them] judges till Samuel the prophet, [to the end of] about four hundred and fifty years.
21 Manghai a hoe uh vaengah Benjamin koca hlang pakhat, Kish capa Saul te amih ham kum sawmli khuiah Pathen loh a paek.
And then they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul, son of Kis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, during forty years.
22 Anih a khoe phoeiah a manghai la David te a thoh pah. Anih te, “Ka ko aka tong hlang, Jesse capa David he ka hmuh. Ka kongaih he anih loh boeih a saii bitni,” a ti tih a phong.
And having removed him he raised up to them David for king, of whom also bearing witness he said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who shall do all my will.
23 A olkhueh bangla anih kah tiingan te ni Pathen loh Israel ham khangkung Jesuh la a poe sak.
Of this man's seed according to promise has God brought to Israel a Saviour, Jesus;
24 A kunnah hmai ah Johan kah a rhan he Israel pilnam boeih ham yutnah baptisma la om.
John having proclaimed before the face of his entry [among the people] [the] baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25 Johan loh hma a khah vaengah, 'Kai ulae nan sui uh. Kai he moenih, Tedae kai hnukah ha pawk coeng ke. A kho dongkah khokhom hlam ham pataeng ka koih moenih,” a ti.
And as John was fulfilling his course he said, Whom do ye suppose that I am? I am not [he]. But behold, there comes one after me, the sandal of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 Ka manuca neh ka hlang, Abraham imkhui koca rhoek neh nangmih khuiah Pathen aka rhih rhoek aw, mamih khangnah ol he han tueih coeng.
Brethren, sons of Abraham's race, and those who among you fear God, to you has the word of this salvation been sent:
27 Jerusalem kah khosa rhoek neh a boei rhoek tah mangvawt uh. Te dongah Sabbath takuem kah a tae uh tonghma ol neh anih lai a tloek uh te soep coeng.
for those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not having known him, have fulfilled also the voices of the prophets which are read on every sabbath, [by] judging [him].
28 Dueknah ham a paelnaehnah khaw hmu pawt dae anih te ngawn hamla Pilat taengah a bih uh.
And having found no cause of death [in him], they begged of Pilate that he might be slain.
29 Anih kawng te boeih a daek soep uh phoeiah, thing dong lamloh a suh uh tih phuel la a khueh uh.
And when they had fulfilled all things written concerning him, they took him down from the cross and put him in a sepulchre;
30 Tedae anih te Pathen loh duek khui lamkah a thoh.
but God raised him from among [the] dead,
31 Anih te Galilee lamkah Jerusalem la aka luei rhoek taengah khohnin te yet khuiah a phoe pah coeng. Amih tah pilnam taengah boeipa kah laipai la om uh coeng.
who appeared for many days to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.
32 A pa rhoek taengah aka thoeng olkhueh te ni nangmih taengah ka phong uh van.
And we declare unto you the glad tidings of the promise made to the fathers,
33 Te te Pathen loh Jesuh a thoh sak dongah, tingtoeng lung dongkah a daek pabae vanbangla; Nang tah ka ca la na om. Tihnin ah kai loh nang kan sak coeng,” a ti te a ca rhoek mamih taengah soep coeng.
that God has fulfilled this to us their children, having raised up Jesus; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee.
34 Anih te duek lamkah loh a thoh dongah pocinah la bal ham cai voel pawh. Te dongah, “Uepom David kah olcim te nangmih taengah kam paek ni, “tila a thui pah.
But that he raised him from among [the] dead, no more to return to corruption, he spoke thus: I will give to you the faithful mercies of David.
35 Hmuen tloe ah khaw, “Na hlangcim te pocinah tong sak ham na paek moenih,” a ti tangloeng.
Wherefore also he says in another, Thou wilt not suffer thy gracious one to see corruption.
36 Amah tuetang vaengah David loh Pathen kah mangtaengnah te a bi. A ih vaengah a napa rhoek taengla khoem uh tih pocinah a tong.
For David indeed, having in his own generation ministered to the will of God, fell asleep, and was added to his fathers and saw corruption.
37 Tedae Pathen loh a thoh te tah pocinah tong pawh.
But he whom God raised up did not see corruption.
38 Ka hlang rhoek neh ka manuca rhoek, nangmih taengah khaw mingpha la om saeh. Anih rhang neh nangmih taengah tholh khodawkngainah khaw, Moses kah olkhueng dongah na tang uh thai pawt boeih te a doek tangloeng coeng.
Be it known unto you, therefore, brethren, that through this man remission of sins is preached to you,
39 Aka tangnah rhoek tah anih rhangneh boeih tang uh coeng.
and from all things from which ye could not be justified in the law of Moses, in him every one that believes is justified.
40 Te dongah tonghma rhoek kah a thui loh n'thoeng thil pawt ham mah ngaithuen uh.
See therefore that that which is spoken in the prophets do not come upon [you],
41 Pahoeh palaeh rhoek aw, ming uh lamtah, nangmih tue vaengah ka saii bibi ham ngaihmang khobing neh milh uh nawn. khat khat loh nangmih taengah hang hoe lalah khaw tekah bibi te na tangnah uh tlaih moenih,” a ti nah.
Behold, ye despisers, and wonder and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which ye will in no wise believe if one declare it to you.
42 A bal uh vaengah tahae kah olka he a laklo kah Sabbath vaengah amih taengah thui sak ham caeltueih rhoek te a cael uh.
And as they went out they begged that these words might be spoken to them the ensuing sabbath.
43 Tunim kah aka phih uh Judah rhoek neh poehlip aka bawk rhoek loh Paul neh Barnabas te muep a vai uh. Te dongah amih te a uen tih Pathen kah lungvatnah khuiah rhaeh rhong ham a koilaw uh.
And the congregation of the synagogue having broken up, many of the Jews and of the worshipping proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 Sabbath a pha bal vaengah vang pum banghui loh Boeipa olka hnatun ham tingtun uh.
And on the coming sabbath almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word of God.
45 Hlangping te Judah rhoek loh a hmuh uh vaengah kohlopnah neh muep hah uh. Te dongah Paul kah a thui te a tloelh uh tih a soehsal uh.
But the Jews, seeing the crowds, were filled with envy, and contradicted the things said by Paul, [contradicting and] speaking injuriously.
46 Te vaengah Paul neh Barnabas loh sayalh la, “Pathen kah olka te thui lamhma ham nangmih taengah om tangkik. Te te na tueihno uh parhi vaengah dungyan hingnah kah amih lai na tloek khaw na tiing uh moenih. Namtom taengla ka mael uh coeng ne. (aiōnios )
And Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly and said, It was necessary that the word of God should be first spoken to you; but, since ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the nations; (aiōnios )
47 Te dongah Boeipa loh, 'Namtom rhoek taengah vangnah neh diklai khobawt due khangnah la na om ham nang kan khueh,’ tila mamih ng'uen bal coeng,” a ti rhoi.
for thus has the Lord enjoined us: I have set thee for a light of the nations, that thou shouldest be for salvation to the end of the earth.
48 Namtom rhoek loh a yaak uh vaengah omngaih uh tih Boeipa olka te a thangpom uh. Te dongah aka tangnah rhoek boeih tah dungyan hingnah ham mop la om uh. (aiōnios )
And [those of] the nations, hearing it, rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord, and believed, as many as were ordained to eternal life. (aiōnios )
49 Te dongah Boeipa kah olka loh paeng tom la thang.
And the word of the Lord was carried through the whole country.
50 Tedae ak bawk nu hlangcong rhoek neh khopuei kah hlang lamhma rhoek te Judah rhoek loh a vueh uh tih Paul neh Barnabas te hnaemtaeknah neh a puengpuelh uh. Te phoeiah amih rhoi te a vaang khui lamloh a haek uh.
But the Jews excited the women of the upper classes who were worshippers, and the first people of the city, and raised a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their coasts.
51 Te dongah amih te a kho dongkah tangdik a khoek thil tih Ikonium la pawk rhoi.
But they, having shaken off the dust of their feet against them, came to Iconium.
52 Hnukbang rhoek khaw omngaihnah, Mueihla Cim neh baetawt uh.
And the disciples were filled with joy and [the] Holy Spirit.
