< 3 Johan 1 >
1 A ham loh thintlo Kaiyu te ka yaak sak. Anih he kai loh oltak neh ka lungnah.
The elder unto the beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
2 Thintlo aw, na hinglu loh a hoeikhang vanbangla, a cungkuem dongah nang hoeikhang sak ham neh sading sak ham ka thangthui.
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth.
4 Ka ca rhoek te oltak dongah pongpa uh tila ka yaak vaengah, hekah lakah a lenngai omngaihnah ka khueh moenih.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Beloved, you do faithfully whatsoever you do to the brethren, and to strangers;
6 Amih loh hlangboel hmaiah nang kah lungnah a phong uh. Pathen neh a tingtawk la amih thak ham te a then la saii.
Which have borne witness of your love (agape) before the church: whom if you bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, you shall do well:
7 Boeipa ming ham cet uh dae namtom rhoek taengkah a bawn uh moenih.
Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
8 Mamih loh tebang te doo ham a kuek tangloeng.
We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow-helpers to the truth.
9 Hlangboel ham bet ka daek dae amih ah aka tanglue Diotrephi loh mamih n'doe moenih.
I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, receives us not.
He nen khaw a rhaemhal kolla manuca rhoek te a doe moenih. Te phoeiah doe ham aka cai rhoek te a paa sak dongah hlangboel lamkah a thaek.
Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, babbling against us with malicious words: (logos) and not content therewith, neither does he himself receive the brethren, and forbids them that would, and casts them out of the church.
11 Thintlo rhoek, a thae te awt boel lamtah a then te awtuh. Aka then tah Pathen kah la om. Aka thae loh Pathen te a hmuh moenih.
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil has not seen God.
12 Demetrius te a cungkuem neh oltak amah lamloh a phong coeng.
Demetrius has good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and all of you know that our record is true.
I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto you:
14 Tedae nangmih te tlek hmuh ham ka ngaiuep. Te vaengah ka neh ka rhoi te n'thui bitni. Nang taengah ngaimongnah om seh. Paya rhoek loh nang toidal uh. Paya rhoek te a ming neh toidal lah.
But I trust I shall shortly see you, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to you. Our friends salute you. Greet the friends by name.
