< 2 Peter 2 >

1 Tedae pilnam khuiah laithae tonghma rhoek khaw om uh. Te vanbangla nangmih khuiah khaw laithae saya om ni. Anih tah pocinah buhlaelh neh ha hawn ni. Amih aka lai boeikung pataeng te a hnoel uh tih pocinah te amamih soahpawk a cuhu sak uh.
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies. They will even deny the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Te phoeiah amih kah omthenbawnnah te muep a vai uh ni. Amih kongah oltak longpuei te a soehsal uh ni.
Many will follow their sensual ways, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned.
3 Halhkanah neh olka a pueh uh vetih nangmih khaw n'yoih uh ni. Amih ham a rhuem kah laitloeknah loh uelh pawt vetih amih kah pocinah te ngam mahpawh.
In their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their condemnation from of old is not idle, and their destruction will not slumber.
4 Pathen loh puencawn rhoek a tholh uh atah hlun pawh. Te dongah hell tlak nah thirhui neh a hmuepnah la a voeih tih laitloeknah ham a khoh. (Tartaroō g5020)
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus and committed them to chains of darkness to be kept for judgment; (Tartaroō g5020)
5 Diklai rhuem te khaw a hlun moenih. Tedae baltalh kah Diklai te tuilii loh a khuk vaengah duengnah olhoe Noah neh parhet ni a paih.
and if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, along with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 Sodom neh Gomorrah kho te pocinah neh a boe sak, a unghloi te baltalh la aka om rhoek ham moeiboe la a khueh coeng.
and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes and made them an example to those who would live in an ungodly way;
7 Te vaengah omthenbawnnah omih dongah aka cungpoeh halang rhoek lamloh a vueinan hlang dueng Lot te a hlawt.
and if he rescued righteous Lot, who was distressed by the sensual conduct of the lawless
8 Hlang dueng loh amih taengah hmuhnah hnavue neh kho a sak. Tedae hlang dueng kah a hinglu te lailak rhoek kah khoboe loh a hnin, a hnin a ngawn pah.
(for as that righteous man dwelt among them, his righteous soul was tormented day after day over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard);
9 Aka cuep te noemcainah lamkah a hlawt ham neh halang rhoek te a khoh vetih laitloeknah khohnin ah a cawh ham khaw Boeipa loh a ming.
then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,
10 Olpuei la a tihnai kah hoehhamnah dongah pumsa hnukah pongpa uh tih taemrhainah te ana hnaep uh. Sayalh la aka cungpoeh rhoek loh thangpomnah te soehsal ham birhih uh pawh.
especially those who indulge the corrupt desires of the flesh and who despise authority. Bold and self-willed, they do not tremble when they blaspheme glorious beings,
11 Puencawn rhoek loh thadueng neh thaomnah muep om mai tih boeipa hmaiah amih ham aka soehsal la laitloeknah a khuen moenih.
whereas angels, who are greater in strength and power, do not bring a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord.
12 Tedae, tuuknah neh a hmawnnah la aka om rhamsa bangla amih te a poekngaih ah khohmang rhaita la thaang uh coeng. A soehsal uh nawn te khaw a mangvawt uh dongah te rhoek kah hmawnnah khuiah poeih uh van bitni.
But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like irrational beasts, creatures of instinct born for capture and destruction, and in the destruction of those beasts they will be destroyed,
13 Boethae kah thapang la patang uh. Pumdomnah khohnin vaengkah te omthenbawnnah la a poek uh. A tihnai neh cawtkoi la aka malawk rhoek tah amih kah hmilhmaknah khuiah na cahnoo uh.
receiving the wages of unrighteousness. Counting indulgence in the daytime as pleasure, they are stains and blemishes, openly indulging in their deceptions as they feast with you.
14 Samphaih ham mik duih a huel uh tih tholhnah khaw nawtnawt om. Yutho hinglu rhoek te a yoek uh. Thinko te halhkanah la a hlinsai tih ca rhoek tah rhunkhuennah la poeh.
They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unstable souls. They are accursed children with hearts trained in greed.
15 Long dueng te a hnoo uh tih rhaithi uh thae. Bosor Balaam kah longpuei te a vai uh.
They have abandoned the straight path and gone astray, following the way of Balaam, the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.
16 Anih long te boethae kah thapang a lungnah dongah a toel dae a khingkhaknah la a khueh. Laak olmueh loh hlang ol la cal tih tonghma kah angsainah te a paa sak.
But he received a rebuke for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with a human voice and prevented the prophet's madness.
17 Te rhoek tah tuihang tuisih neh hlipuei loh a yawn khomai ni. Amih ham yinnah khuikah a hmuepnah te a khoem pah coeng. (questioned)
These men are springs without water, clouds driven by a storm, for whom the thick gloom of darkness has been reserved forever. (questioned)
18 A honghi te a puehkan la aka thui loh tholhhiknah khuiah khosak lamkah aka loeih paek rhoek te pumsa kah hoehhamnah, omthenbawn neh a yoek uh.
For they speak bombastic words of nonsense, and with sensual desires of the flesh they entice people who have truly escaped from others who live in error.
19 Amih ham poenghalnah te a caeng pah dae amamih tah hmawnnah kah sal la om uh. Pakhat loh a khulae coeng te tah anih te sal a bi sak.
They promise them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption. For a man is a slave to whatever masters him.
20 Te dongah mamih kah Boeipa neh Khangkung Jesuh Khrih kah mingnah rhangneh Diklai boinah lamkah loeih coeng. Tedae te nen te koep tingtong tih a khulae atah amih ham hnukkhueng te lamhma lakah a thae ngai la om.
For if after they have escaped from the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these defilements and overcome, the last state is worse for them than the first.
21 Duengnah longpuei te a ming uh tih amih taengah olpaek cim a paek lamkah a bal uh lakah ming mueh la a om te amih ham then ngai.
It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment that was passed on to them.
22 Amih taengah thuidoeknah a thoeng he tah thuem pai. Ui tah a lok dongla mael tih ok khaw tiknong dongah a bolnah ham tui a hluk.
What the true proverb says has happened to them: “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing herself, returns to wallowing in the mire.”
