< 2 Khokhuen 29 >
1 Hezekiah he kum kul kum nga a lo ca vaengah manghai tih Jerusalem ah kum kul kum ko manghai. A manu ming tah Zekhariah canu Abijah ni.
Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old; he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abijah; she was the daughter of Zechariah.
2 A napa David kah a saii bang boeih la BOEIPA mik ah a thuem ni a saii.
He did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh, just as David his father had done.
3 A manghai cuek kum dongkah a hla lamhma cuek vaengah BOEIPA im kah thohkhaih te a ong tih a tlaih.
In the first year of his reign, in the first month, Hezekiah opened the doors of the house of Yahweh and repaired them.
4 Khosoih rhoek neh Levi rhoek te a khuen tih amih te khocuk toltung ah a kuk.
He brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the courtyard on the east side.
He said to them, “Listen to me, you Levites! Consecrate yourselves, and consecrate the house of Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, and carry away the filthiness from the holy place.
6 A pa rhoek loh boe a koek uh tih mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA mikhmuh ah boethae a saii uh dongah amah te a hnawt uh. A maelhmai te BOEIPA kah dungtlungim lamloh mangthong uh tih a rhawn a maelh uh.
For our ancestors trespassed and did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh our God; they forsook him, turned away their faces from the place where Yahweh lives, and turned their backs on it.
7 Ngalha kah thohkhaih khaw a khaih uh tih hmaithoi te a thih uh. Bo-ul khaw phum uh pawt tih hmueihhlutnah te Israel Pathen kah hmuencim ah nawn uh pawh.
Also they shut up the doors of the porch and put out the lamps; they did not burn incense or offer burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.
8 Te dongah BOEIPA kah thinhulnah loh Judah neh Jerusalem te a tlak thil tih amih te tonganah la, ngaihuetnah la, imsuep la, na mik neh na hmuh uh banlga thuithetnah la a khueh.
Therefore the wrath of Yahweh had fallen on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has made them to be an object of terror, of horror, and of scorn, as you can see with your own eyes.
9 Te dongah a pa rhoek khaw cunghang dongah cungku uh coeng ke. He kongah ni mamih capa, mamih canu neh mamih yuu rhoek khaw tamna khuiah a om.
This is why our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons, our daughters, and our wives are in captivity for this.
10 Kai thinko khuiah Israel Pathen BOEIPA neh paipi saii ham om coeng. Te daengah ni a thintoek thinsa khaw mamih taeng lamloh a mael eh.
Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Yahweh, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger may turn away from us.
11 Ka ca rhoek khaw vawk vapsa uh boeh. Nangmih te BOEIPA loh amah mikhmuh ah aka pai ham, amah taengah aka thotat ham neh a taengah aka thotat tih aka phum la om ham ni a coelh,” a ti nah.
My sons, do not be lazy now, for Yahweh has chosen you to stand before him, to worship him, and that you should be his servants and burn incense.”
12 Te dongah Levi lamkah aka thoo rhoek tah, Amasai capa Mahath, Kohathi koca lamloh Azariah capa Joel, Merari koca lamloh Abdi capa Kish, Jehallelel capa Azariah, Gershon lamloh Zimmah capa Joah neh Joah capa Eden.
Then the Levites arose: Mahath son of Amasai, and Joel son of Azariah, of the people of the Kohathites; and of the people of Merari, Kish son of Abdi, and Azariah son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah son of Zimmah, and Eden son of Joah;
13 Elizaphan koca lamloh Shimri, Jeuel neh Jeiel, Asaph koca lamloh Zekhariah neh Mattaniah.
of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;
14 Heman koca lamloh Jehiel neh Shimei, Jeduthun koca lamloh Shemaiah neh Uzziel.
of the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.
15 A pacaboeina te a coi tih a ciim uh phoeiah tah manghai olpaek bangla BOEIPA im caihcil ham BOEIPA ol dongah pongpa uh.
They gathered their brothers, they consecrated themselves, and they went in, as the king commanded, following the words of Yahweh, to cleanse the house of Yahweh.
16 Khosoih rhoek khaw BOEIPA im te caihcil hamla a khui la kun uh. BOEIPA bawkim ah a tihnai a hmuh boeih te BOEIPA im kah vongup la a sat uh. Te phoeiah Levi rhoek loh a doe uh tih Kidron soklong kah a voel la a thak uh.
The priests went in to the inner part of the house of Yahweh to cleanse it; they brought out all the filth that they found in the temple of Yahweh into the courtyard of the house. The Levites took it to carry it out to the brook Kidron.
17 Im ciim ham te a hla khat dongah lamhma la a tong uh tih te hla kah a hnin rhet dongah tah BOEIPA kah ngalha taengla pawk uh. A hnin rhet dongah BOEIPA im te a ciim uh tih lamhmacuek hla kah hnin hlai rhuk dongah a khah uh.
Now they began the consecration on the first day of the first month. By the eighth day of the month they reached the porch of Yahweh. Then for eight more days they consecrated the house of Yahweh. On the sixteenth day of the first month they finished.
18 Te phoeiah manghai Hezekiah taengah a khui la kun uh tih, “BOEIPA im boeih neh hmueihhlutnah hmueihtuk khaw, a hnopai boeih khaw, rhungkung caboei neh a hnopai boeih te khaw, ka caihcil uh coeng.
Then they went to Hezekiah, the king, inside the palace and said, “We have cleansed all the house of Yahweh, the altar for burnt offerings with all its implements, and the table of the bread of the presence, with all its implements.
19 Manghai Ahaz loh a ram ah boekoeknah la a hlahpham hnopai boeih te khaw ka soepsoei uh tih BOEIPA kah hmueihtuk hmai ah ka ciim uh coeng ke,” a ti nauh.
So we have prepared and we have consecrated all the items that King Ahaz removed when he acted unfaithfully during his reign. See, they are in front of the altar of Yahweh.”
20 Te vaengah manghai Hezekiah te thoo tih khopuei mangpa rhoek te a coi phoeiah BOEIPA im la cet.
Then Hezekiah the king rose early in the morning and gathered the leaders of the city; he went up to the house of Yahweh.
21 Te phoeiah vaito pumrhih, tutal pumrhih, tuca pumrhih, maae tal pumrhih te ram ham khaw, rhokso ham khaw, Judah ham khaw boirhaem la a khuen. Te phoeiah Aaron koca khosoih taengah BOEIPA kah hmueihtuk dongah a nawn ham te a uen.
They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats as a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah. He commanded the priests, the sons of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of Yahweh.
22 Te dongah saelhung a ngawn uh phoeiah tah a thii te khosoih rhoek loh a duen uh tih hmueihtuk dongah a haeh uh. Tutal khaw a ngawn uh tih a thii te hmueihtuk dongah a haeh uh bal. Tuca khaw a ngawn uh tih a thii te hmueihtuk dongah a haeh uh.
So they killed the bulls, and the priests received the blood and sprinkled it on the altar. Then they killed the rams and sprinkled their blood on the altar; and they also killed the lambs and sprinkled their blood on the altar.
23 Boirhaem maae te tah manghai neh hlangping mikhmuh la a mop uh tih a soah a kut a tloeng uh.
They brought the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly; they laid their hands on them.
24 Hmueihhlutnah neh boirhaem he manghai loh Israel boeih ham a thui coeng. Te dongah khosoih loh a ngawn van nen tah Israel pum kah te dawth pah hamla a thii te hmueihtuk dongah a khueh uh.
The priests killed them, and they made a sin offering with their blood on the altar to make atonement for all Israel, for the king had commanded that a burnt offering and a sin offering should be made for all Israel.
25 BOEIPA im kah Levi rhoek tah David neh manghai kah khohmu Gad, tonghma Nathan kah olpaek bangla tlaklak neh, thangpa neh, rhotoeng neh paiuh. Te olpaek te BOEIPA kut neh amah kah tonghma rhoek kut ah a paek.
Hezekiah placed the Levites in the house of Yahweh with cymbals, harps, and lyres, arranging them by the command of David, Gad, the king's seer, and Nathan, the prophet, for the command was from Yahweh by means of his prophets.
26 Te dongah Levi rhoek te David kah a tumbael neh, khosoih rhoek te olueng neh pai uh.
The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.
27 Hezekiah loh hmueihtuk dongah hmueihhlutnah nawn ham a thui tih hmueihhlutnah tue a tong. Te vaengah BOEIPA laa neh olueng te a kut dongkah Israel manghai David tumbael neh a tong.
Hezekiah commanded them to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the song of Yahweh began also, with the trumpets, together with the instruments of David, king of Israel.
28 Hlangping boeih loh a bakop van neh laa te a sak tih olueng aka ueng long khaw hmueihhlutnah boeih a coeng hil a ueng.
All the assembly worshiped, the singers sang, and the trumpeters played; all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.
29 A nawn bawt ah manghai neh a taengkah a hmuh boeih loh cungkueng uh tih a bawkuh.
When they had finished the offerings, the king and all who were present with him bowed and worshiped.
30 David neh khohmu Asaph kah olka bangla BOEIPA thangthen hamla manghai Hezekiah neh mangpa rhoek loh Levi rhoek te a uen. Te dongah kohoenah neh a thangthen uh phoeiah buluk tih a bawk uh.
Moreover, Hezekiah, the king, and the leaders commanded the Levites to sing praises to Yahweh with the words of David and of Asaph, the seer. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed down and worshiped.
31 Te phoeiah Hezekiah loh a doo tih, “Na kut cung sak uh laeh, BOEIPA taengla mop uh lamtah hmueih neh uemonah te BOEIPA im la khuen uh,” a ti nah. Te dongah hlangping loh hmueih neh uemonah khaw, hlangcong lungbuei kah hmueihhlutnah cungkuem te khaw a khuen uh.
Then Hezekiah said, “Now you have consecrated yourselves to Yahweh. Come here and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of Yahweh.” The assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all who had a willing heart brought burnt offerings.
32 A pum la hlangping loh hmueihhlutnah a khuen te vaito sawmrhih, tutal yakhat, tuca yahnih lo. He boeih he BOEIPA ham hmueihhlutnah ni.
The number of the burnt offerings that the assembly brought was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, and two hundred male lambs. All these were for a burnt offering to Yahweh.
33 Hnocim la saelhung ya rhuk, boiva thawng thum lo.
The consecrated offerings were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.
34 Tedae khosoih rhoek tah a sii la om uh tih hmueihhlutnah boeih te hlaih hamla noeng uh pawh. Te dongah amih te a manuca Levi rhoek loh bitat a coeng hil neh khosoih a ciim hil a duel uh. Levi rhoek tah khosoih rhoek lakah a ciim ham thinko thuem uh.
But the priests were too few to skin all the burnt offerings, so their brothers, the Levites, helped them until the work was done, and until the priests could consecrate themselves, for the Levites had been more careful to consecrate themselves than the priests.
35 Hmueihhlutnah khaw a cungkuem la rhoepnah maehtha neh, tuisi neh, hmueihhlutnah neh soep. Te dongah BOEIPA im kah thothuengnah khaw cikngae.
In addition, there were very many burnt offerings; they were performed with the fat of the fellowship offerings, and there were drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of Yahweh was set in order.
36 Pathen loh pilnam ham a soepsoei tih ol te thaeng a thoeng coeng dongah Hezekiah neh pilnam boeih loh a kohoe.
Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people also, because of what God had prepared for the people, for the work had been done quickly.
