Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There comes a great multitude against you from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
3 Tedae a rhih dongah BOEIPA te dawt hamla Jehoshaphat loh a maelhmai a hoi. Te phoeiah Judah pum hamla yaehnah hnin khaw a hoe pah.

And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,

And said, O LORD God of our fathers, are not you God in heaven? and rule not you over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in your hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand you?
7 Namah te kaimih kah Pathen moenih a? Khohmuen kah khosa rhoek he na pilnam Israel mikhmuh lamloh na haek tih na lungnah Abraham tiingan taengah kumhal duela na paek.

8 A khuiah kho a sak uh tih a khuiah namah ham neh na ming hamla rhokso a sak uh.
And they dwelled therein, and have built you a sanctuary therein for your name, saying,

And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
11 Te phoeiah amih loh kaimih haek ham neh kaimih taengah ha pawk hamla n'thuung uh coeng he. Te te na rho khui lamkah ni kaimih nan pang sak.
Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.
12 Kaimih kah Pathen aw, amih taengah lai na tloek mahpawt nim? Kaimih taengla aka pawk hlangping he yet mikhmuh ah kaimih he thadueng tal coeng. Kaimih loh metla ka saii uh ham ka ming pawt dae kaimih mik loh namah taengla hooi uh,” a ti.
O our God, will you not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are on you.
13 Te vaengah Judah boeih neh camoe rhoek khaw, a yuu rhoek khaw a ca rhoek khaw BOEIPA mikhmuh ah pai uh.
And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

Then on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the middle of the congregation;
15 Te dongah, “Judah boeih neh Jerusalem khosa rhoek neh manghai Jehoshaphat, hnatung uh lah. BOEIPA loh nangmih taengah he ni a thui. Nangmih loh rhih uh boeh. Hlangping he yet mikhmuh ah rhihyawp uh boeh. Caemtloek he nangmih kah pawt tih Pathen hut ni.
And he said, Listen you, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat, Thus says the LORD to you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

You shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand you still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
18 Jehoshaphat loh diklai la a maelhmai a buluk vaengah Judah pum neh Jerusalem kah khosa rhoek khaw BOEIPA te bawk hamla BOEIPA mikhmuh ah ba kop uh.
And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.

And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall you be established; believe his prophets, so shall you prosper.
21 Pilnam a uen phoeiah tah BOEIPA te aka hlai la, hmuencim kah rhuepomnah te aka thangthen la, aka pumcum uh kah a hmai ah cet tih, “A sitlohnah kumhal ham dongah BOEIPA te uem uh,” aka ti la a khueh.
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endures for ever.
22 A tue te tamlung neh koehnah neh a tong uh. BOEIPA loh Moab kah Ammon koca rhoek neh Judah la aka pawk rhoek te Seir tlang ah rhongngol a khueh thil dongah yawk uh.

For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
24 Judah te khosoek kah rhaltoengim la pawk tih hlangping taengla mael. Tedae amih te diklai ah a rhok la tarha a yalh pah tih rhalyong om pawh.
And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked to the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets to the house of the LORD.

And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 Te dongah a Pathen loh anih te a kaepvai taengah a duem sak tih Jehoshaphat ram khaw mong.
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
31 Te dongah Jehoshaphat te sawmthum kum nga a lo ca vaengah Judah ah manghai coeng. A manghai vaengah Jerusalem ah kum kum kul neh kum nga manghai tih a manu ming tah Shilhi canu Azubah ni.
And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
32 A napa Asa kah longpuei ah pongpa tih te lamkah te phael pawh. BOEIPA mikhmuh ah a thuem a saii.

33 Tedae hmuensang te khoe uh pawh. Pilnam loh a thinko te a napa rhoek kah Pathen taengah a cikngae mueh la om pueng.
However, the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts to the God of their fathers.

36 Te vaengah amah neh amah te sangpho sak ham neh Tarshish la caeh ham patai uh rhoi tih Eziongeber ah sangpho a saii rhoi.
And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Eziongaber.

Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has broken your works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
