< 1 Timothy 6 >
1 Hnamkun hmuikah aka om sal boeih loh a boeikung rhoek te a cungkuem dongah hinyahnah ham tueng la poek saeh. Te daengah ni Pathen ming neh thuituennah te a soehsal pawt eh.
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
2 Uepom la aka om boeilung rhoek tah manuca la a om uh dongah hnaep uh boeh. Tedae salbi uh taoe saeh. Uepom la a om uh dongah thintlo tah bibi then neh a bom. He he thuituen lamtah hloephoelh.
And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
3 Khatkhat loh a thuituen tholh tih, mamih Boeipa Jesuh Khrih kah olka cim neh hingcimnah vanbangla thuituenah te a paan pawt atah koevoei uh tih a hmat hae moenih.
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 Olcenkama loh hlang kah lungbuei te a phae tih oltak te a hmil. Calomnah te hingcimnah ni tila a poek uh.
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 Diklai la bakhaw n'khuen uh pawt bangla diklai lamloh pakhat khaw n'khuen uh thai moenih.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 Tedae aka om duen cakok neh pueinak nen he rhaemhal uh sih.
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 Tedae khuehtawn ham aka ngaih rhoek tah cuekhalhnah neh thaang ah khaw, angnah dongkah hoehhamnah cungkuem neh nganboh dongah khaw cungku uh. Te long te rhawpnah neh pocinah khuila hlang a buek sak.
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 Tangkangaih tah boethae cungkuem kah a yung la om. Te te aka nai hlangvang tah tangnah lamloh phael uh tih amamih te lungnat loh mat a cueh.
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 Tedae aw Pathen kah hlang nang loh he he rhaelrham tak lamtah duengnah, hingcimnah, tangnah, lungnah, uehnah, kodonah te huul lah.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Tangnah kah thingthuelnah te a then la thingthuel lamtah dungyan hingnah te lo lah. Te ham ni ng'khue tih a then olphoei te laipai a yet hmaiah na phong. (aiōnios )
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (aiōnios )
13 A cungkuem aka hing sak Pathen neh Pontius Pilat hmaiah aka then olphoei aka phong Jesuh Khrih hmaiah nang kang uen.
I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
14 Mamih Boeipa Jesuh Khrih kah a phoenah duela olpaek te cuemhmuet neh hmabuet la na tuem mako.
That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15 Te khaw amah tue ah tah yoethen neh mangpa bueng loh, manghai rhoek kah manghai neh boei rhoek kah boei loh a phoe ni.
Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Anih aka hmu he hlang om pawt tih a hmuh ham khaw coeng thai pawh. Amen. (aiōnios )
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. (aiōnios )
17 Ta kumhal kah kuirhang rhoek te kopoek sang pawt ham, aka nguel pawh khuehtawn soah ngaiuep pawt ham uen lah. Tedae omngaihbawnnah ham cungkuem te kodam la mamih aka pae Pathen taengah, (aiōn )
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; (aiōn )
18 a then sai ham, bibi then neh khuehtawn ham, moeihoeih tonghnae la om ham,
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 Amamih hmailong ham aka then khoengim te a tunghlaep uh tih hingnah taktak te a khueh uh van ham uen ne.
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Angen loh tangnah dongah ol a caeng uh te a hlihloeh sakuh. Lungvatnah nangmih taengah om saeh.
Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana.
