< 1 Samuel 7 >

1 Te dongah Kirathjearim hlang rhoek ha pawk uh neh BOEIPA thingkawng te a khuen uh tih som kah Abinadab im te a paan puei uh. Te vaengah a capa Eleazar te BOEIPA thingkawng aka khoem la a ciim uh.
Then came the men of Kiriath-jearim and fetched up the ark of Yahweh, and brought it into the house of Abinadab, in the hill, —and, Eleazar his son, hallowed they, to guard the ark of Yahweh.
2 Kiriathjearim ah thingkawng a ngol khohnin lamloh a kum khaw sen coeng. Tedae kum kul a lo daengah Israel imkhui pum te BOEIPA hnukah rhathi uh.
And so it was, that, from the day the ark came to dwell in Kiriath-jearim, the days multiplied, and became twenty years, —and all the house of Israel went mourning after Yahweh.
Nangmih te Philisti kut lamloh n'huul bitni,” a ti nah.
And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If, with all your heart, ye are returning unto Yahweh, then put away the gods of the foreigner out of your midst, and the Ashtoreths—and firmly set your heart towards Yahweh, and serve him, alone, that he may deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4 Te dongah Israel ca rhoek loh Baal neh Ashtoreth te a voeih uh tih, BOEIPA amah taeng bueng ah tho a thuenguh.
So the sons of Israel put away the Baals, and the Ashtoreths, —and served Yahweh, alone.
5 Te dongah Samuel loh, “Israel boeih aw Mizpah ah coi uh thae lamtah nangmih yueng la BOEIPA taengah ka thangthui eh?,” a ti nah.
And Samuel said, Gather all Israel unto Mizpah, —that I may pray for you, unto Yahweh.
6 Mizpah la a coi uh thae vaengah tui a than uh tih BOEIPA mikhmuh ah a bueih uh. Tekah khohnin dongah caak a yaeh uh tih BOEIPA taengah, “Ka tholh coeng,” a ti uh dongah Mizpah kah Israel ca rhoek te Samuel loh lai a tloek pah.
So they gathered themselves unto Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before Yahweh, and fasted on that day, and said, there, We have sinned against Yahweh. And Samuel judged the sons of Israel in Mizpah.
7 Mizpah ah Israel ca rhoek a coi uh thae te Philisti loh a yaak vaengah Israel te Philisti boei rhoek loh a caeh thil uh. Israel ca rhoek loh a yaak uh vaengah Philisti te a rhih uh.
And, when the Philistines heard that the sons of Israel had gathered themselves together unto Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel, —and, when the sons of Israel heard it, they shrank with fear, from the face of the Philistines.
8 Te dongah Samuel te Israel ca rhoek loh, “Mamih kah BOEIPA Pathen taengah pang ham khaw kaimih he nam phah sak pawt koinih Philisti kut lamloh mamih n'khang suidae,” a ti nauh.
And the sons of Israel said unto Samuel, Do not turn in silence from us, from making outcry unto Yahweh our God, —that he would save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
9 Samuel loh suktui aka yawn tuca pakhat a loh phoeiah cet tih BOEIPA taengah hmueihhlutnah la boeih a khuen. Te phoeiah BOEIPA te Samuel loh Israel yueng la a doek hatah BOEIPA loh a doo pah.
So Samuel took one sucking lamb, and offered it up, as an entire ascending-sacrifice unto Yahweh, —and Samuel made outcry unto Yahweh, for Israel, and Yahweh answered him.
10 Samuel loh hmueihhlutnah a paan vaengah Philisti rhoek tah caemtloek la Israel taengah thoeih uh. Tedae tekah khohnin dongah Philisti te BOEIPA loh a ol ue neh rhaek bangla a daeh tih a khawkkhek dongah amih te Israel mikhmuh ah yawk uh.
And, when Samuel was offering up the ascending-sacrifice, the Philistines, drew near to fight against Israel, —but Yahweh thundered with a great noise throughout that day, over the Philistines, and confused them, and they were smitten before Israel.
11 Te vaengah Mizpah lamkah Israel hlang rhoek te ha pawk uh tih Philisti te a hloem uh. Te dongah Phlilisti te Bethkar kungdak duela a tloek uh.
And the men of Israel went forth out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, —and smote them as far as under Beth-car.
12 Te phoeiah Samuel loh lungto pakhat a loh tih Mizpah laklo neh Shane laklo ah a khueh. “Tahae duela BOEIPA loh mamih m'bom coeng,” a ti dongah lungto ming te Ebenezer la a khue.
And Samuel took a certain stone, and set it between Mizpah and Yeshanah, and called the name thereof Eben-ezer, —and said, Hitherto, hath Yahweh helped us.
13 Philisti rhoek khaw kunyun uh coeng tih Israel khorhi a paan ham koep khoep uh voel pawh. Samuel tue khuiah tah Philisti khaw BOEIPA kut ah ni a om.
So the Philistines were subdued, and, no more, came within the boundary of Israel, —and the hand of Yahweh was against the Philistines, all the days of Samuel.
14 Te dongah Israel taengkah khopuei Philisti loh a loh rhoek, Ekron lamloh Gath neh a khorhi duela Israel taengla a mael uh. Philisti kut lamloh Israel a huul dongah Israel laklo neh Amori laklo ah khaw rhoepnah om.
And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even as far as Gath; even the boundaries thereof, did Israel rescue out of the hand of the Philistines, —thus came there to be peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 Samuel a hing tue khuiah Israel te lai a tloek pah.
And Samuel judged Israel, all the days of his life.
16 A kum kum ah voeikhat carhil tah cet tih Bethel khaw, Gilgal khaw, Mizpah khaw a hil. Hmuen tom kah Israel te lai a tloek pah.
And he used to take his journey, from year to year, and go round to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpah, —and used to judge Israel, at all these places.
17 Tedae Ramah la a maelnah amah im ah Israel te lai a tloek pah tih BOEIPA ham hmueihtuk pahoi a suem.
And, his returning, was to Ramah, for, there, was his house, and, there, judged he Israel, —so he built there an altar unto Yahweh.
