< 1 Peter 3 >
1 Te vanbangla huta rhoek te a va rhoek taengah boengai uh saeh. Te daengah ni khat khat loh olka te aek mai cakhaw a yuu rhoek kah omih rhangneh amih te ol mueh la a dang uh eh.
In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that, even if any do not obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word,

seeing your pure behavior in fear.
3 Nangmih kah a hmanhu ah sam toel tih sui, Diklai himbai, pueinak he tah thoeihcamnah la om boel saeh.
Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing,
4 Tedae hlang thinko kah a huephael ah aka kuei mueihla neh muelhtuet, dingsuek la thoeihcamuh. Te tah Pathen hmaiah a phu om.
but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.
5 Pathen aka ngaiuep noek huta cim rhoek khaw a va rhoek taengah boe a ngai uh nen ni amamih te a thoeihcam uh van.
For this is how in the past the holy women who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands.
6 Sarah loh Abraham taengah ol a ngai vanbangla, anih te boeipa la a khue. A ca la na om uh dongah a thensai te rhih ham om pawt tih letnah khaw om pawh.
So Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are if you do well and are not put in fear by any terror.
You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman as to the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
8 A cuinah la, thikat la, hlang rhen kho neh, thintlo koeina, sitloh thimhalh, thindo kodo te boeih khueh uh laeh.
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
9 A boethae te boethae neh, thuithetnah te thuithetnah neh thuung uh boeh. Tedae a khuplat la uem uh, te ham te n'khue daengah ni yoethennah te na pang uh eh.
not rendering evil for evil or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
10 Hingnah te aka lungnah tih khohnin then hmuh ham aka ngaih long tah a lai te a thae khui lamkah cuep saeh. A hmui te khaw tuengkhuepnah thui sak boel saeh.
For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
11 Te dongah a thae te rhael saeh lamtah a then te saii saeh. Rhoepnah te toem saeh lamtah hnuktlak saeh.
Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it.
12 Boeipa mik loh aka dueng te a hmuhdam tih amih kah rhenbihnah benla hna a kaeng. Tedae thae aka saii te Boeipa kah maelhmai loh a mangthong tak.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
13 A then dongah aka hmae la na om uh atah u long nangmih te n'hnaep eh?
Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good?
14 Tedae duengnah kongah na patang uh mai atah na yoethen uh. Tedae amih lamkah rhihnah te rhih uh boeh, thuen uh boeh.
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
15 Tedae na thinko ah Khrih te Boeipa la hinyah uh. Nangmih khuikah ngaiuepnah kongah olka nangmih aka dawt boeih te olthungnah ham sikim la om yoeyah uh.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,

having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.
17 A thensai he then ta. Pathen kah kongaih loh a ngaih atah thae lakah patang he then ngai.
For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing what is right than for doing evil.
18 Halang yueng la hlang dueng, Khrih tah tholhnah kongah vaikhat la patang coeng. Te daengah ni nangmih te Pathen taengla n'thak eh. Pumsa ah duek ngawn cakhaw mueihla ah hing coeng.
Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,
19 Te nen te thongim khuiah khaw cet tih mueihla rhoek taengah a hoe coeng.

who before were disobedient when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
21 Te tah baptisma dongah aka daem nangmih kah mueimae la om van coeng. Pumsa kah a tihnai capitnah ke pawt tih Jesuh Khrih kah thohkoepnah dongah a then la mingcimnah neh Pathen taengah m'bih ke ni.
This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22 Amah tah Pathen kah bantang ah om. Vaan ah a pongpa vaengah puencawn rhoek, saithainah neh thaomnah te amah taengah boe a ngai sak.
who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
