1 BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng te Zion David khopuei lamloh Jerusalem kah manghai Solomon taengla khuen ham Solomon loh Israel a ham rhoek, koca rhoek kah a lu boeih, Israel ca rhoek kah a napa rhoek kah khoboei rhoek, koca kah a lu boeih te a tingtun sak.
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes, and the leaders of the families of the people of Israel, before himself in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from the city of David, that is, Zion.
2 Te dongah Israel hlang boeih te manghai Solomon taengla Ethanim hla, a hla rhih dongkah khotue vaengah tingtun uh.
All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon at the feast, in the month of Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
3 Israel kah a ham rhoek boeih a pawk uh neh khosoih rhoek loh thingkawng te a koh uh.
All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
4 BOEIPA kah thingkawng te a khuen uh tih tingtunnah dap neh dap kah hmuencim hnopai boeih te Levi khosoih rhoek loh a khuen uh.
They brought up the ark of Yahweh, the tent of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tent. The priests and the Levites brought these things up.
5 Manghai Solomon neh thingkawng hmai ah anih taengla amah neh aka tuentah uh Israel rhaengpuei boeih loh a khawk la boiva neh saelhung a nawn uh te daek uh lek pawt tih tae uh lek pawh.
King Solomon and all the assembly of Israel came together before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted.
6 Te vaengah khosoih rhoek loh BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng te im khui kah cangimphu khuikah amah hmuen la a khuen uh. Te te cherubim phae hmui kah hmuencim kah hmuencim la a khueh.
The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the inner room of the house, to the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim.
7 Cherubim loh thingkawng hmuen te phae a phuel thil tih cherubim loh thingkawng so neh a so kah a cung soah a khuk.
For the cherubim spread out their wings to the place of the ark, and they covered the ark and the poles by which it was carried.
8 A cung te a hlawt van dongah a cung hmoi te cangimphu hmai kah hmuencim lamloh tueng. Tedae poeng lamloh tueng pawt cakhaw tahae khohnin duela om.
The poles were so long that their ends were seen from the holy place in front of the inner room, but they could not be seen from outside. They are there to this day.
9 Thingkawng khuiah Horeb ah Moses loh a khueh lungto cabael rhoi phoeiah a tloe om pawh. Egypt kho lamloh a coe uh phoeiah teah ni BOEIPA loh Israel ca rhoek taengah paipi a saii.
There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone that Moses had put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the people of Israel when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10 Hmuencim lamloh khosoih rhoek a khoe uh vaengah tah BOEIPA im te cingmai loh a khuk.
It came about that when the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the temple of Yahweh.
11 BOEIPA im te BOEIPA kah thangpomnah a bae dongah khosoih rhoek khaw cingmai hmai ah thohtat ham pai uh thai pawh.
The priests could not stand to serve because of the cloud, for the glory of Yahweh filled his house.
12 Te vaengah Solomon loh, “BOEIPA loh yinnah khuiah khosak ham a thui coeng.
Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would live in thick darkness,
13 Namah loh kumhal due kho na sak nah ham hmuen la na imhmuen kah im a sak khaw ka sak coeng,” a ti.
But I have built you a lofty residence, a place for you to live in forever.”
14 Te phoeiah manghai loh a maelhmai te a hooi tih Israel hlangping boeih te yoethen a paek vaengah Israel hlangping boeih khaw pai uh.
Then the king turned around and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.
15 Te vaengah, “Israel Pathen BOEIPA tah a yoethen pai. A ka neh a pa David taengah a thui tih a kut neh a soep sak.
He said, “May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised, who spoke to David my father, and has fulfilled it with his own hands, saying,
16 'Ka pilnam Israel te Egypt lamkah ka khuen khohnin lamloh ka ming om sak ham neh im thoh sak ham Israel koca boeih khuikah khopuei te ka coelh moenih. Tedae David te ka pilnam Israel soah om sak ham ka coelh,’ a ti.
'Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, in order for my name to be there. However, I chose David to rule over my people Israel.'
17 Israel Pathen BOEIPA ming la im sak ham hea pa David kah thinko ah om coeng.
Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
18 Tedae BOEIPA loh a pa David te, 'Kai ming la im sak ham na thinko ah a om bangla na thinko ah a om ham khaw then.
But Yahweh said to David my father, 'In that it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well for it to be in your heart.
19 Tedae nang loh im na thoh pawt vetih na pumpu lamkah aka thoeng na capa lat long nikai ming ham im a thoh eh?,’ a ti nah.
Nevertheless you will not build the house; instead, your son, one who will be born from your loins, will build the house for my name.'
20 BOEIPA loh a thui ol te a cak sak dongah a pa David phoeiah a thoh. Te dongah ni BOEIPA kah a thui bangla Israel kah ngolkhoel dongah ka ngol tih Israel Pathen BOEIPA ming la im ka sak.
Yahweh has carried out the word that he had said, for I have arisen in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised. I have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
21 Te phoeiah Egypt kho lamloh amih a khuen vaengah a pa rhoek taengah a saii BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng ham hmuen pahoi ka khueh,’ a ti.
I have made a place for the ark there, in which is Yahweh's covenant, which he made with our fathers when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.”
22 Te vaengah Solomon te Israel hlangping pum hmai kah BOEIPA hmueihtuk hmai ah pai tih a kut te vaan la a phuel.
Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh, before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward the heavens.
23 Te phoeiah, “Israel Pathen BOEIPA aw, namah bang Pathen a so kah vaan ah khaw, a dang kah diklai ah khaw a om moenih. Na mikhmuh ah a lungbuei boeih neh aka pongpa na sal rhoek taengah paipi neh sitlohnah na ngaithuen coeng.
He said, “Yahweh, God of Israel, there is no God like you in the heavens above or on the earth below, who keeps his covenant faithfulness with your servants who walk before you with all their heart;
you who have kept with your servant David my father, what you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is today.
Now then, Yahweh, God of Israel, carry out what you have promised to your servant David my father, when you said, 'You will not fail to have a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants are careful to walk before me, as you have walked before me.'
Now then, God of Israel, let your word be confirmed, which you have spoken to your servant David my father.
27 Tedae Pathen he diklai ah ngol tang nim? Vaan neh vaan phoeikah vaan rhoek long pataengnang n'cangbam uh thai moenih. Te dongah he im ka sak long aisat he.
But will God actually live on the earth? Look, the entire universe and heaven itself cannot contain you—how much less can this temple that I have built!
28 Tedae na sal kah thangthuinah neh anih kah lungmacil taengla mael lah. Tihnin ah na sal hena mikhmuh ah thangthui coeng.
Yet please respect this prayer of your servant and his request, Yahweh my God; listen to the cry and prayer that your servant prays before you today.
29 “He im soah khoyin khothaih na mik dai thil lah. Te hmuen ah,” Ka ming pahoi om saeh,” na ti. Te dongah na sal loh he hmuen la a thangthui vanbangla thangthuinah te hnatun pah.
May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, to the place about which you have said, 'My name and my presence will be there'—in order to listen to the prayers that your servant will pray toward this place.
30 He hmuen la a thangthui uh vaengah, na sal neh na pilnam Israel kah lungmacil te hnatun pah. Namah loh na khosak nah hmuen ah hnatun pah. Vaan lamloh na yaak vaengah khaw khodawkngai pah.
So listen to the request of your servant and of your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, listen from the place where you live, from the heavens; and when you listen, forgive.
31 Hlang he a hui taengah tholh tih tap hamla a soah thaephoeinah a khuen tih ha pawk vaengahhe im kah na hmueihtuk hmai ah a tap atah,
If a man sins against his neighbor and is required to swear an oath, and if he comes and swears an oath before your altar in this house,
32 Namah loh vaan lamkah hnatun lamtah rhoi pah. A khosing te amah lu ah khueh pah. Aka dueng tang sak ham te a duengnah bangla anih ham khueh pah.
listen from the heavens and act. Judge your servants, condemning the guilty and bringing what he has done upon his own head. Declare the innocent not guilty and give to him according to his righteousness.
33 Na pilnam Israel khaw na taengah tholh uh tih thunkha mikhmuh ah a yawk vaengah, namah taengla mael uh tih na ming te a uem uh vaengah, he im ah namah taengah thangthui uh tih rhennah a bih vaengah,
When your people Israel are defeated by an enemy because they have sinned against you, if they turn back to you, confess your name, pray, and request forgiveness from you in this temple—
then please listen in the heavens and forgive the sin of your people Israel; bring them back to the land that you gave to their ancestors.
35 Na taengah tholh tih vaan ke a khaih dongah khotlan a om pawt vaengah, he hmuen la thangthui uh tih na ming te a uem uh vaengah, amih te na phaep tih a tholhnah lamloh a mael uh vaengah,
When the skies are shut up and there is no rain because the people have sinned against you—if they pray toward this place, confess your name, and turn from their sin when you have afflicted them—
Longpuei then te amih thuinuet lamtah a khuiah pongpa uh saeh.
then listen in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk. Send rain on your land, which you have given to your people as an inheritance.
37 Khohmuen ah khokha pai tihduektahaw vaengah, mawn neh dung, kaisih neh phol a tlung vaengah, a khohmuen vongka ah a thunkha om tih anih te a daengdaeh vaengah, nganboh boeih neh tlohtat cungkuem vaengah,
Suppose there is famine in the land, or suppose that there is disease, blight or mildew, locusts or caterpillars; or suppose that an enemy attacks the city gates in their land, or that there is any plague or sickness—
38 Hlang boeih lamkah neh, na pilnam Israel boeih lamtah aka thoeng thangthuinah boeih neh lungmacil boeih, hlang loh a thinko tloh a ming uh tih he im la a kut a phuel uh vaengah,
and suppose then that prayers and requests are made by a person or by all your people Israel—each knowing the plague in his own heart as he spreads out his hands toward this temple.
Then listen from heaven, the place where you live, forgive and act, and reward every person for all he does; you know his heart, because you and you only know the hearts of all human beings.
40 A pa rhoek taengah na paek khohmuen maelhmai dongkah mulhing rhoek loh amah tue khuiah namah te n'rhih uh saeh.
Do this so that they may fear you all the days that they live on the land that you gave to our ancestors.
In addition, concerning the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel: When he comes from a distant country because of your name—
42 Na ming tanglue te ya uh saeh. Na tlungluen kut neh na ban khaw thueng lamtah ha pawk saeh lamtah he im ah thangthui saeh.
for they will hear of your great name, your mighty hand, and your raised arm—when he comes and prays toward this temple,
Kholong khaw namah taengah a bih bangla a cungkuem dongah rhoirhi pah.
then please listen from heaven, the place where you live, and do whatever the foreigner asks of you. Do this so that all the peoples on earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel. Do this so they might know that this house I have built is called by your name.
44 Te te na coelh tih na ming ham im ka sak vanbangla amih te longpuei ah na tueih tihna pilnam loh a thunkha taengah caemtloek la a caeh vaengah khopuei long kah BOEIPA taengah a thangthui uh atah.
Suppose that your people go out to battle against an enemy, by whatever way you may send them, and suppose that they pray to you, Yahweh, toward the city that you have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for your name.
45 Amih kah thangthuinah neh a lungmacil te vaan lamloh hnatun pah lamtah amih kah laitloeknah saii pah.
Then listen in the heavens to their prayer and their request, and help their cause.
46 Aka tholh pawt hlang he a om pawt oeh dongah nang taengah tholh uh tih amih taengah na thin a toek vaengah, amih te thunkha hmai ah na voeih. Te vaengah amih aka sol loh a yoei a hla kah thunkha khohmuen ah a sol uh.
Suppose that they sin against you, since there is no one who does not sin, and suppose that you are angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, so that the enemy takes them away captive to their land, whether distant or near.
47 Tedae a sol nah khohmuen ah a lungbuei ah pahoi mael uh. Amih a sol nah khohmuen ah namah taengla mael uh tih rhennah a bih vaengah 'Ka tholh uh tih ka paihaeh uh dongah ka boe uh' a ti atah.
Then suppose that they realize they are in the land where they have been exiled, and suppose that they repent and seek favor from you from the land of their captors. Suppose that they say, 'We have acted perversely and sinned. We have behaved wickedly.'
48 Amih aka sol a thunkha rhoek khohmuen ah a thinko boeih, a hinglu boeih neh nang taengla a mael uh atah, a napa rhoek taengah na paek a khohmuen longpuei nang taengla a thangthui atah, khopuei he na coelh tih im ka sak he namah ming ham ni ka sak.
Suppose that they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who captured them, and suppose that they pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their ancestors, and toward the city that you chose, and toward the house that I have built for your name.
Then from heaven, the place where you live, listen to their prayer and their request for help, and you will make matters right for them.
50 Namah taengah aka tholh na pilnam taeng neh amih kah boekoeknah cungkuem taengah khodawkngai pah. Nang taengah boe a koek akhaw amih aka sol kah mikhmuh ah amih te haidamnah dongah na paek daengah ni amih te ahaidam uh eh.
Forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions that they have committed against you, and make them objects of compassion before their conquerors, and cause their conquerors to have compassion on them.
They are your people whom you have chosen, whom you rescued out of Egypt as if from the middle of a furnace where iron is forged.
52 Na mikte na sal kah lungmacil taeng neh na pilnam Israel kah lungmacil taengah aka dai la om saeh, namah taengah a cungkuem la a pang uh vaengah, amih te aka hnatun la om lah.
May your eyes be open to the request of your servant and to the requests of your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they cry to you.
For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to belong to you and receive your promises, just as you explained by Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord Yahweh.”
54 BOEIPA taengah thangthui ham thangthuinah neh lungmacil boeih he Solomon loh a khah phoeiah BOEIPA hmueihtuk hmai kah a khuklu dongah aka cungkueng lamloh thoh tih a kut te vaan la a phuel.
So it was that when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and request to Yahweh, he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread out toward the heavens.
55 Pai tih Israel hlangping cungkuem te yoethen a paek vaengah ol ue neh,
He stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying,
56 “A cungkuem ah a thui bangla a pilnam Israel taengah duemnah aka pae BOEIPA tah a yoethen pai. A sal Moses kut ah a thui a ol then boeih te ol pakhat khaw a hloo moenih.
“May Yahweh be praised, who has given rest to his people Israel, keeping all his promises. Not one word has failed out of all Yahweh's good promises that he made with Moses his servant.
57 Mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA he a pa rhoek taengah a om bangla mamih taengah khaw om saeh. Mamih he n'hnoo boel saeh lamtah mamih he m'phap boel saeh.
May Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors. May he never leave us or forsake us,
58 A pa rhoek a uen bangla mamih thinko he amah taengla buung ham, amah kah longpuei cungkuem ah pongpa ham, a olpaek, a oltlueh neh a laitloeknah khaw ngaithuen ham om.
that he may incline our hearts to him, to live in all his ways and keep his commandments and his regulations and his statutes, which he commanded our fathers.
59 BOEIPA mikhmuh ah rhennah ka bih vanbangla ka ol he khoyin khothaih aka yoei mamih kah BOEIPA Pathen taengah om saeh. Te daengah ni hnin at kah olka dongah aka om a sal kah laitloeknah neh a pilnam Israel kah laitloeknah he amah khohnin ah a saii thai eh.
Let these words I have spoken, by which I have made request before Yahweh, be near Yahweh our God day and night, so that he may help the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel, as every day will require;
60 Te daengah ni diklai pilnam boeih loh Yahweh amah phoeiah Pathen tloe om pawh tila a ming eh.
that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh, he is God, and there is no other God!
61 Tedae tahae khohnin kah bangla a oltlueh dongah pongpa ham neh a olpaek ngaithuen ham tah nangmih kah thinko te mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA taengah a rhuemtuet la om saeh,” a ti.
Therefore let your heart be true to Yahweh our God, to walk in his statutes and keep his commandments, as on this day.”
62 Te phoeiah manghai neh a taengkah Israel boeih loh BOEIPA mikhmuh ah hmueih a nawn uh.
So the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices to Yahweh.
63 Solomon loh rhoepnah hmueih a nawn tih BOEIPA taengah saelhung thawng kul thawng hnih neh boiva thawng yakhat thawng kul a nawn. Te tlam te manghai neh Israel ca boeih loh BOEIPA im te a uum uh.
Solomon offered a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to Yahweh: twenty-two thousand oxen and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the people of Israel dedicated the house of Yahweh.
64 Teah te hmueihhlutnah neh khocang khaw, rhoepnah maehtha khaw a ngawn dongah Amah khohnin ah manghai loh BOEIPA im hmai kah vongup khui a ciim. Te vaengah BOEIPA mikhmuh kah rhohum hmueihtuk tah hmueihhlutnah neh khocang, rhoepnah maehtha a ael ham lakah a caek dongah ni.
The same day the king set apart the middle of the courtyard in front of the temple of Yahweh, for there he offered the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar that was before Yahweh was too small to receive the burnt offering, the grain offerings, and the fat of the fellowship offerings.
65 Te vaeng tue ah Solomon loh khotue a saii tih a taengkah Israel boeih he Lebokhamath lamloh Egypt soklong duela khawk hlangping uh. Mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA mikhmuh ah hnin rhih, hnin rhih, hnin hlai li a dunuh.
So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from Lebo Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before Yahweh our God for seven days and also for another seven days, a total of fourteen days.
66 A hnin rhet dongah pilnam te a tueih tih manghai te yoethen a paekuh. BOEIPA loh a sal David ham neh a pilnam Israel ham a saii hnothen cungkuem ham kohoe neh lungbuei then la a dap te a paan uh.
On the eighth day he sent the people away, and they blessed the king and went to their homes with joyful and glad hearts for all the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David, his servant, and to Israel, his people.
