< Zekhariah 3 >

1 Te phoeiah BOEIPA puencawn hmai kah aka pai khosoih puei Joshua te kai n'tueng. Te vaengah Satan tah anih te khingkhoek hamla a bantang ah pai.
Then [Yahweh] showed me Joshua, the Supreme Priest, [who was] standing in front of the angel that Yahweh had sent. And Satan was standing at Joshua’s right side, [ready] to accuse him.
2 BOEIPA loh Satan te, “BOEIPA loh, Satan nang te n'tluung saeh, Jerusalem aka coelh BOEIPA loh nang te n'tluung pai saeh. Hmaipok he hmai lamloh a huul moenih nama?” a ti nah.
But Yahweh said to Satan, “Satan, I am rebuking you! I [am the one] who has chosen Jerusalem [to be my special city, and I] am rebuking you! This [man, Joshua], [has been brought back from Babylonia]; he is surely [like] [MET, RHQ] a burning stick that has been snatched from a fire.”
3 Te vaengah Joshua kah himbai pueinak te a khawt-haw la om tih puencawn mikhmuh ah pai.
Joshua was wearing filthy clothes while he was standing in front of the angel.
4 Te dongah a mikhmuh ah aka pai te a doo tih a voek phoeiah, “A pum dong lamkah himbai a khawt-haw te dul laeh,” a ti nah. Te daengah Joshua te, “So lah, Namah kah thaesainah te na pum dong lamloh kan dul tih nang te boeimanghni kam bai sak,” a ti nah.
The angel said to those [other angels] who were standing in front of him, “Take off his filthy clothes!” [After they did that, ] the angel said to Joshua, “Look! I have taken away [the guilt of] your sins, and I will put beautiful clothes on you.”
5 Te phoeiah, “A lu ah lupong cim muei sak uh,” ka ti nah. Te dongah lupong cim te a lu ah a muei sak uh. Anih te himbai a bai sak uh vaengah BOEIPA kah puencawn pai.
Then I said to them, “Put a clean turban on his head!” So they put a clean turban on his head and put [new] on him, while the angel sent by Yahweh was standing there.
6 Te phoeiah BOEIPA puencawn loh Joshua te a rhalrhing sak tih,
Then the angel said [this] to Joshua:
7 “Caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Ka longpuei ah na pongpa atah, ka kuek te na tuem atah, nang long khaw kai imkhui te na lai na tloek pah vetih ka vongup te na dawndah bal ni. Te daengah ni aka pai rhoek lakli ah nang hamla caehlong kang khueh eh.
“The Commander of the armies of angels says that if you do what I want you to do [IDM], and obey my instructions, you will (be in charge of/have authority over) [what is done in] my temple and its courtyard. And I will allow you to speak at any time to the angels who are standing near to me.
8 “Khosoih puei Joshua aw, namah neh na mikhmuh kah kho aka sa na hui loh hnatun uh laeh. Amih tah kopoekrhai hlang rhoek ni. Kai loh ka sal he cangdueng lam ni kang khuen ngawn ne.
Joshua, [you are] the Supreme Priest, and your (associates/fellow priests) are sitting in front of you. They symbolize/represent things that will happen in the future. [Some day] I am going to bring someone who will work for me, someone who will be called the Branch.
9 Joshua mikhmuh ah lungto ka tloeng ngawn coeng ne. Lungto pakhat dongah mik parhih om tih a thingthuk khaw ka thuk coeng ne. He tah caempuei BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Te dongah he diklai kah thaesainah he hnin at ah ka khum sak ni.
Look at the stone that I have put in front of Joshua. There are seven sides on the stone. I will engrave a message on that stone, and in one day I will remove the guilt of [all the people of] this country.
10 He tah caempuei BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Te khohnin ah tah hlang loh a hui te misur hmui neh thaibu hmui la na khue uh ni,” a ti nah.
At that time, each of you will invite his friends [to come and sit] under his grapevine and under his fig tree. [That is what] the Commander of the armies of angels declares.”
