< Rom 11 >
1 Pathen loh a pilnam te a tueihno moenih ka ti. Te tlamte om mahpawh. Kai khaw, Israel hlang, Abraham kah tiingan lamkah Benjamin koca ni.
I say then, Hath YHWH cast away his people? By no means. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 Pathen loh a ming oepsoep a pilnam te a tueihno moenih. Cacim loh a thui te Elijah te na ming moenih a? Pathen taengah Israel ham a huithui pah te?
YHWH hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture saith of EliYah? how he maketh intercession to YHWH against Israel, saying,
3 “Boeipa, nang kah tonghma rhoek te a ngawn uh, na hmueihtuk te a palet uh, kai bueng n'hlun uh dae ka hinglu te a mae uh,” a ti.
YHWH, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 Tedae Pathen ol loh anih te, “Baal taengah khuklu aka cungkueng pawh hlang thawngrhih te kamah ham ka paih pueng,” a ti nah te ta.
But what saith the answer of YHWH unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
5 Te dongah tahae tue a khaw lungvatnah dongkah tueknah rhangneh hlangrhuel te om van.
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of favour.
6 Tedae lungvatnah nen pawt tih khoboe nen koinih lungvatnah tah lungvatnah la om mahpawh.
And if by favour, then is it no more of works: otherwise favour is no more favour. But if it be of works, then is it no more favour: otherwise work is no more work.
7 Te koinih balae tih a tlap te Israel loh a dang pawt he. Tedae a tuek loh a dang vaengah a tloe rhoek tah mangkhak uh.
What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 A daek bangla amih te Pathen loh mutu mueihla a paek. Tihnin khohnin due rhoe la mik te tueng pawt tih hna te khaw a khui pah moenih.
(According as it is written, YHWH hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; ) unto this day.
9 David long khaw, “Amih kah caboei te thaang neh pael la, thangkui ham neh amih kutthungnah hamla om saeh.
And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompence unto them:
10 Hmuh pawt ham a mik tah hmuep saeh lamtah amih kah cinghen pum te phueih khuun saeh.
Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11 Ka thui koinih, a paloe ham a tongtah uh moenih a? Te tlamte om pawt suidae amih kah tholhdalhnah lamloh namtom rhoek ham khangnah om vetih amih thatlai sak ham ni.
I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? By no means: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Tedae amih kah tholhdalhnah te Diklai kah khuehtawn la, a hloonah tah namtom kah khuehtawn la om koinih a soepnah aisat te metlam muep a om eh.
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 Nangmih namtom te ka thui coeng. A cungkuem dongah kai tah namtom rhoek kah caeltueih la ka om tangloeng tih ka bibinah te ka thangpom.
For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 Kamah saa te bet ka thatlai sak koinih amih rhoek khuikah hlangvang khaw ka khang sue.
If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 Amih kah hnawtnah te Diklai kah moeithennah la a om atah a doenah taoe te duek lamkah hingnah moenih a?
For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 Thaihcuek loh a cim coeng atah a hlom te khaw cim. A yung te a cim atah a hlaeng te khaw cim.
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 Tedae a hlaeng te bet a saih tih oliverhol la aka om nang khaw te dongah n'cong atah a yung kah laimen te a bawn dongah olive la poeh.
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 A hlaeng dongah koevoei boeh. Tedae na koevoei koinih nang loh a yung te na phuei pawt tih a yung long ni nang m'phueih.
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Te vaengah, “A hlaeng a saih uh daengah kai n'cong eh?, “na ti bitni.
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Thuem ngawn ta, hnalvalnah te saih uh cakhaw nang tah tangnah neh pai. Aka sang koek la ngai uh boel lamtah birhih.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 Pathen loh a hlaeng tang pataeng a hlun pawt atah nang te bet n'hlun mai mahpawh.
For if YHWH spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of YHWH: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 Te rhoek khaw hnalvalnah te a oei thil uh pawt mak atah a cong bitni. Pathen tah amih koep cong ham yoeikoek la om mai.
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for YHWH is able to graff them in again.
24 Nang te olive rhol kah a coengnah dong lamloh n'saih tih a coengnah te olive tang dongla n'cong atah amih ngai aisat a coengnah bangla olive amah dongla a cong ni ta.
For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
25 Manuca rhoek he olhuep soah na mangvawt uh ham ka ngaih moenih. Te daengah ni aka cueih loh amah la na om uh pawt eh. Cungvang ah thinthahnah loh namtom taengah a hah la a kun hlanah Israel taengah om coeng te.
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 Te dongah Israel tah boeih a khang tangloeng ni. a daek vanbangla aka hlawt kung tah Zion lamkah ha pawk vetih Jakob lamkah hlangrhong te a palet ni.
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away wickedness from Jacob:
27 He tah amih kah tholh ka khoe vaengah amih ham aka om kai taengkah paipi ni.
For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 Olthangthen ah nangmih rhangneh rhal la om uh ngawn dae tueknah dongah a pa rhoek rhangneh thintlo rhoek ni.
As concerning the glad tidings, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
29 Pathen kah kutdoe neh khuenah tah khangmai coeng.
For the gifts and calling of YHWH are without repentance.
30 Pathen taengah ol na aek noek bangla a althanah dongah n'rhen uh coeng.
For as ye in times past have not believed YHWH, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Tahae kah rhoek long khaw a aek uh van. Nangmih n'rhennah nen ni amih khaw a rhen pawn eh.
Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 Althanah dongah Pathen loh boeih a uup pai daengah ni boeih a rhen pai eh. (eleēsē )
For YHWH hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. (eleēsē )
33 Aw Pathen kah a cueihnah neh a mingnah tah boktlap la coih tih dung mai mah oe. Metlam mai lae a laitloeknah te m'mangvawt tih a caehlong te m'phavawt sut.
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of YHWH! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
34 Boeipa kah lungbuei aka ming te unim, amah kah baerhoep la aka om te unim?
For who hath known the mind of YHWH? or who hath been his counseller?
35 Anih te koep sah hamla u lae Boeipa aka pae lamhma?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
36 A cungkuem he amah lamkah tih amah lamloh amah ham a thoeng sak. Thangpomnah tah kumhal duela amah kah ni. Amen. (aiōn )
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. (aiōn )
