To the Chief Musician. For "the Lilies of Testimony." Asaph’s. A Melody. O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Thou who leddest forth Joseph like a rock, Thou who art throned on the cherubim, appear!
2 Ephraim, Benjamin neh Manasseh mikhmuh ah na thayung thamal te huel lamtah, kaimih kah khangnah ham halo lah.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy strength, And come! to our salvation.
3 Pathen aw kaimih nan lat tih, na maelhmai a sae daengah ni ka daem uh eh.
O God, bring us back, And light up thy face, That we may be saved.
4 Caempuei Pathen BOEIPA me hil nim, na pilnam kah thangthuinah te na khuu thil eh?
O Yahweh, God of hosts! How long hast thou been wroth with the prayer of thy people?
5 Amih te mikphi buh na cah tih baelpuei mikphi na tul.
Thou hast fed them with the food of tears, And hast caused them to drink the water of weeping in threefold abundance.
6 Ka imben rhoek ham olpungkacan la kaimih nan khueh tih ka thunkha rhoek loh n'tamdaeng uh.
Thou dost make us an object of contention to our neighbours, And, our foes, find mockery for themselves.
7 Caempuei Pathen aw kaimih nan lat tih na maelhmai a sae daengah ni ka daem uh eh.
O God of hosts, bring us back, And light up thy face, That we may be saved.
8 Egypt lamkah nang khuen misur te namtom na haek phoeiah na phung.
A vine out of Egypt, thou didst remove, Thou didst cast out nations, and plant it;
9 A mikhmuh ah hmuen na saelh pah tih a yung a hlak dongah khohmuen ah baetawt.
Thou didst make a clear space before it, So it rooted well its roots, and filled up the land;
10 A hlip loh tlang tom a dah tih a hlaeng loh lamphai thingnu a yam thil.
Covered were the mountains with its shade, And, with its boughs, the mighty cedars.
11 A pae loh tuitunli duela, a dawn long khaw tuiva duela a voeih.
It thrust forth its branches as far as the sea, —And, unto the River, its shoots.
12 A vongtung te a ba ham nim na phae tih long kah aka pongpa boeih loh a bit uh?
Wherefore hast thou broken down its fences, So that all who pass along the way, pluck its fruit?
13 Duup lamkah okngal loh a thoe tih kohong kah satlung loh a luem thil.
The boar out of the forest, browseth upon it, And, the wild beast of the field, pastureth thereon.
14 Caempuei Pathen aw, ha mael laeh. Misur he vaan lamloh paelki lah, so lamtah hip lah.
O God of hosts, return, we pray thee, —Look down out of the heavens, and see, And inspect this vine:
15 Na bantang kut neh a yung te na phung tih namah ham a ca na hlul sak.
Yea the stock which thy right hand planted, Even upon the son thou didst secure for thyself.
16 Hmai neh a hoeh tih a vung. Na mikhmuh kah tluungnah dongah milh uh.
To be burned with fire, it is cut down, —At the rebuke of thy countenance, they will perish.
17 Na bantang hlang so neh namah ham na thoh hlang capa soah na kut tloeng lah.
Let thy hand be, Upon the Man of thy right hand, Upon the Son of Man thou didst secure for thyself;
18 Te daengah ni nang taeng lamkah ka balkhong uh pawt eh. Kaimih he nan hlun daengah ni na ming te kang khue uh eh.
So will we not draw back from thee, Thou wilt bring us to life, And, on thy Name, will we call.
19 Caempuei Pathen Yahweh kaimih nan lat tih na maelhmai a sae daengah ni ka daem uh eh.
O Yahweh, God of hosts! bring us back, Light up thy face, That we may be saved.
