1 [Jeduthun aka mawt ham David kah Tingtoenglung] Pathen dong bueng ah ka hinglu loh duemnah a khueh tih kai kah khangnah khaw amah taeng lamkah ni.
God is the only one who can give me peace in my inner being, and he is the one who saves me [from my enemies].
2 Amah te ka lungpang neh kai ham khangnah, ka imsang la om pai tih, ka thuen tlaih mahpawh.
Only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he will be [like] a shelter, [with the result that] I will never be defeated [MET].
3 Hlang te me hil nim na phom uh ve? Nangmih boeih loh aka ngooi pangbueng neh aka bung vongtung bangla na sah uh aya?
When will you, [my enemies], stop attacking me [RHQ]? I feel that I am [as useless against you as] a wall that is about to fall over or a broken-down fence [MET].
4 Anih te hmuensang lamloh heh ham rhep caai uh tih laithae a ngaingaih uh. A ka neh uem uh cakhaw a kotak ah a tap uh. (Selah)
My enemies plan to remove me from my important position so that people no longer honor me. They delight in telling lies. They bless people by what they say [MTY], but in their inner beings they curse [those people].
God is the only one who gives me peace in my inner being; he is the one whom I confidently expect [to help me].
Only he is [like an overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he is [like] a shelter, and [as a result] I will never be defeated.
God is the one who saves me and honors me. He is [like an overhanging] strong rock under which I [can] find shelter [MET].
8 Pilnam loh a tue boeih khuiah BOEIPA dongah hangdang uh. Pathen he mamih ham hlipyingnah ni. (Selah)
[You my] people, always trust in him. Tell him all your troubles, because he is (our refuge/the one who protects us) [MET].
9 Tedae hlang capa rhoek he a honghi ni. tongpa capa rhoek khaw laithae ni. Cooi dongah a honghi boeih lakah amih te yanghoep la a phoh.
People who are considered to be unimportant are [as worthless/unreliable as] a breath of air; people who are considered to be important [also] really (amount to nothing/cannot be trusted [to help us)]. If you put them all on a scale, [it would be as if] they weighed less than a puff of air.
10 Hnaemtaeknah dongah pangtung boel lamtah huencannah nen khaw hoemdawk boeh. A khuehtawn loh thaihsu cakhaw lungbuei pael boeh.
Do not trust in money gained by extorting it from others; do not try to gain anything by robbing others. If you become very wealthy, do not trust in [IDM] your money.
11 Pathen loh vai a thui te Pathen taengkah sarhi ni tila voeihnih ka yaak.
I have heard God say more than once that he is the one who [really] has power,
and that he is the one who faithfully loves [us]. He rewards every one [of us] according to the deeds that we do.
