< Tingtoeng 49 >

1 Aka mawt ham Korah ca rhoek kah tingtoenglung Pilnam boeih loh hekah he ya uh lah. Khosaknah dongkah khosa boeih loh hnatun uh.
To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. Hear this, all ye peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world:
2 Hlang capa rhoek long khaw, hlang tongpa rhoek long khaw, hlanglen neh khodaeng long khaw thikat la hnatunuh.
Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike.
3 Ka ka loh cueihnah a thui vetih ka lungbuei poeknah loh a lungcuei om bitni.
My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding:
4 Ka hna he taengla ka kaeng vetih, ka olkael he rhotoeng neh ka thuicaih ni.
I will incline mine ear to a parable, I will open my riddle upon the harp.
5 Yoethaenah hnin ah ka khodil kathaesainah loh kai m'vael dae ba ham lae ka rhih eh?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of adversity, [when] the iniquity of my supplanters encompasseth me? —
6 A thadueng dongah pangtung uh tih a khuehtawn a yet neh thangthen uh dae,
They depend upon their wealth, and boast themselves in the abundance of their riches. ...
7 hlang loh a manuca te a lat khaw a lat thai moenih. A tlansum te Pathen taengah a paek thai moenih.
None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,
8 A hinglu kah tlansum tah kuelka tih kumhal a toeng.
(For the redemption of their soul is costly, and must be given up for ever, )
9 Te koihnih a yoeyah la hing pueng sui tih hlan khaw hmuh pawt sue.
That he should still live perpetually, [and] not see corruption.
10 Aka cueih rhoek long tah a duek te a hmuh. Aka ang neh kotalh khaw a milh vaengah a khuehtawn te hlang tloe ham a caehtak.
For he seeth that wise men die; all alike, the fool and the brutish perish, and they leave their wealth to others.
11 Amih kah poeknah nen tah a im te kumhal ah, a pohmuen te thawnpuei lamkah cadilcahma duela, om ni a ti uh tih tolhmuen te amih ming neh a khue uh.
Their inward thought is, that their houses are for ever, their dwelling-places from generation to generation: they call the lands after their own names.
12 Tedae hlang he umponah khaw a rhaehrhong moenih, rhamsa banglam ni a thuidoek tih a hmata.
Nevertheless, man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
13 Tetl a amamih khosing tea uepnah tih amih kah olthui te a hnukbang rhoek loh a pom uh. (Selah)
This their way is their folly, yet they that come after them delight in their sayings. (Selah)
(Sheol h7585)
Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them. (Sheol h7585)
15 Tedae Pathen loh ka hinglu he saelkhui kut lamkah n'lat dongah kai he n'loh bit ni. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Hlang pakhat loh boei tih a im kah thangpomnah loh pungtai cakhaw rhih boeh.
Be not afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased:
17 A duek vaengah pakhat khaw khuen mahpawh. A thangpomnah loh anih te suntlak puei mahpawh.
For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him.
18 A hing vaengah a hinglu te yoethen a paek tih namah te na hoeikhang vaengah nang uem uh dae,
Though he blessed his soul in his lifetime, — and men will praise thee when thou doest well to thyself, —
19 A napa rhoek kah cadilcahma la cet vetih yoeyah la vangnah hmu uh mahpawh.
It shall go to the generation of his fathers: they shall never see light.
20 Hlang he umponah neh om dae a yakming pawt atah rhamsa aka hmata rhoek bangla om.
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
