< Olcueih 30 >

1 Jakeh capa Agur kah ol he, Ithiel hlang, Ithiel neh Ukal taengah olphong olrhuh la om.
Words of a Gatherer, son of an obedient one, the declaration, an affirmation of the man: — I have wearied myself [for] God, I have wearied myself [for] God, and am consumed.
2 Kai he hlang lakah ka kotalh ngawn cakhaw, hlang loh kai taengah yakmingnah khueh pawh.
For I am more brutish than any one, And have not the understanding of a man.
3 Cueihnah ka cang pawt dae, a cim mingnah te ka ming.
Nor have I learned wisdom, Yet the knowledge of Holy Ones I know.
4 Ulae vaan la aka luei tih aka rhum? A kutnarhum dongah khohli aka buem te ulae? Himbai dongah tui aka cun te ulae? Diklai khobawt boeih aka thoh te ulae? A ming ta melae, a capa ming ta balae? na ming atah.
Who went up to heaven, and cometh down? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound waters in a garment? Who established all ends of the earth? What [is] His name? and what His son's name? Surely thou knowest!
5 Pathen kah olthui boeih tah cilpoe la om. Amah dongah aka ying rhoek ham tah photling la a om pah.
Every saying of God [is] tried, A shield He [is] to those trusting in Him.
6 A ol te thap boeh, namah te n'tluung vetih na laithae phoe ve.
Add not to His words, lest He reason with thee, And thou hast been found false.
7 Namah taeng lamkah te panit ni kam bih. Ka duek hlanah kai taengah hloh boeh.
Two things I have asked from Thee, Withhold not from me before I die.
8 A poeyoek neh laithae ol tah kai taeng lamloh hla saeh. Kai taengah he khodaeng khaw, khuehtawn khaw m'pae boeh. Ka buhvae dongkah buhham mah kai n'cah mai.
Vanity and a lying word put far from me, Poverty or wealth give not to me, Cause me to eat the bread of my portion,
9 Ka kum vaengah tah ka basa vetih, “BOEIPA te unim,” vik ka ti tholh ve. Ka khawk vaengah ka huen vetih ka Pathen ming te ka pha tholh ve.
Lest I become satiated, and have denied, And have said, 'Who [is] Jehovah?' And lest I be poor, and have stolen, And have laid hold of the name of my God.
10 A boei taeng, a boei taengah sal te thet pah boeh. Namah te thae m'phoei thil vetih, na boe ve.
Accuse not a servant unto his lord, Lest he disesteem thee, and thou be found guilty.
11 A napa kah cadilcahma aka tap loh a manu te khaw a uem noek moenih.
A generation [is], that lightly esteemeth their father, And their mother doth not bless.
12 A khawt te sil pawt dae, amah mikhmuh neh aka cim cadilcahma,
A generation — pure in their own eyes, But from their own filth not washed.
13 A mik neh mat pomsang uh tih, a mikkhu aka huel cadilcahma,
A generation — how high are their eyes, Yea, their eyelids are lifted up.
14 A no te cunghang bangla, a pumcu te tumcaca bangla, diklai mangdaeng neh khodaeng hlang aka yoop cadilcahma,
A generation — swords [are] their teeth, And knives — their jaw-teeth, To consume the poor from earth, And the needy from [among] men.
15 Vawt canu rhoi loh, “M'pae, m'pae,” a ti. Pathum khaw cung rhoi pawh. Pali khaw, “Rhoeh coeng,” ti rhoi pawh.
To the leech [are] two daughters, 'Give, give, Lo, three things are not satisfied, Four have not said 'Sufficiency;'
16 Saelkhui neh caya kah a bung, tui aka hah pawh diklai, rhoeh aka ti tlaih pawh hmai pawn ni. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol, and a restrained womb, Earth — it [is] not satisfied [with] water, And fire — it hath not said, 'Sufficiency,' (Sheol h7585)
17 A napa aka tamdaeng tih, a manu kah boengainah dongah aka hnoelrhoeng kah a mik tah, soklong vangak loh a koeih vetih atha ca loh a caak ni.
An eye that mocketh at a father, And despiseth to obey a mother, Dig it out do ravens of the valley, And eat it do young eagles.
18 Amih pathum mah kai ham tah khobaerhambae coeng dae, a pili phoeikah amih pali he khaw ka ming thai moenih.
Three things have been too wonderful for me, Yea, four that I have not known:
19 Vaan ah atha kah longpuei, lungpang dongah rhul kah longpuei, tuitun tuilung kah sangpho longpuei, hula taengkah tongpa longpuei he ni.
The way of the eagle in the heavens, The way of a serpent on a rock, The way of a ship in the heart of the sea, And the way of a man in youth.
20 Samphaih nu kah a khosing tah, a caak neh a ka a huih tih, “boethae ka saii pawh,” a ti.
So — the way of an adulterous woman, She hath eaten and hath wiped her mouth, And hath said, 'I have not done iniquity.'
21 Diklai aka tlai sak pathum neh diklai loh a phueih thai pawh pali tah,
For three things hath earth been troubled, And for four — it is not able to bear:
22 Sal te tloep a manghai vaengah, aka ang te buh a hah vaengah,
For a servant when he reigneth, And a fool when he is satisfied with bread,
23 Rhukom te tloep a hmuhuet vaengah, imom loh a boeinu a pang vaengah,
For a hated one when she ruleth, And a maid-servant when she succeedeth her mistress.
24 Amih pali he diklai hmankah a yit koek la om dae cueih rhoela cueih uh.
Four [are] little ones of earth, And they are made wiser than the wise:
25 Lunghi he a pilnam khaw tlung pawt dae, khohal ah amamih caak te a soepsoei coeng.
The ants [are] a people not strong, And they prepare in summer their food,
26 Saphih khaw a pilnam te pilnu pawt dae, thaelpang khuiah a im a khueh.
Conies [are] a people not strong, And they place in a rock their house,
27 Kaisih te manghai tal dae a pum la huek khong uh.
A king there is not to the locust, And it goeth out — each one shouting,
28 Imrhai loh kut neh na tuuk mai tih, amah tah manghai kah bawkim ah na om van bal.
A spider with two hands taketh hold, And is in the palaces of a king.
29 Khokan aka yanghoep pathum neh a caeh aka thuem pali tah amih ni.
Three there are going well, Yea, four are good in going:
30 Sathueng tah Rhamsa boeih lakah tlung tih, a mikhmuh kah boeih tah mael tak pawh.
An old lion — mighty among beasts, That turneth not back from the face of any,
31 A cinghen aka caplawh maaetal neh manghai amah taengah aka bop rhoek.
A girt one of the loins, or a he-goat, And a king — no rising up with him.
32 Dangrhoek ham vaengah na tahah tih na mangtaeng akhaw na ka te na kut neh buem.
If thou hast been foolish in lifting up thyself, And if thou hast devised evil — hand to mouth!
33 Suktui a ken vaengah suknaeng la poeh. Hnarhong a pai vaengah thii long. Thintoek a phul vaengah tuituknah la coeng.
For the churning of milk bringeth out butter, And the wringing of the nose bringeth out blood, And the forcing of anger bringeth out strife!
