1 Toelthamnah a om lalah a rhawn aka mangkhak sak hlang tah hoeihnah om kolla pahoi khaem ni.
A reprover is better than a stiff-necked man: for when the latter is suddenly set on fire, there shall be no remedy.
2 Hlang dueng a pul vaengah pilnam a kohoe. Tedae halang loh a taemrhai vaengah pilnam huei.
When the righteous are praised, the people will rejoice: but when the ungodly rule, men mourn.
3 Cueihnah aka lungnah hlang loh a napa ko a hoe sak. Tedae pumyoi neh aka luem loh boeirhaeng khaw a milh sak.
When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices: but he that keeps harlots will waste wealth.
4 Tiktamnah dongah ni manghai loh khohmuen a pai sak. Tedae kapbaih aka ca hlang loh khohmuen a koengloeng.
A righteous king establishes a country: but a transgressor destroys [it].
5 A hui taengah aka hoem hlang khaw amah khokan dongah ni lawk a tung coeng.
He that prepares a net in the way of his own friend, entangles his own feet in it.
6 Hlang boethae loh boekoeknah neh hlaeh a tung. Tedae aka dueng tah tamhoe tih a kohoe.
A great snare [is spread] for a sinner: but the righteous shall be in joy and gladness.
7 Aka dueng long tah tattloel kah dumlai a ming pah. Halang long tah mingnah pataeng a yakming moenih.
A righteous man knows how to judge for the poor: but the ungodly understands not knowledge; and the poor man has not an understanding mind.
8 Saipaat hlang rhoek loh khorha a sat. Tedae hlang cueih rhoek long tah thintoek pataeng a dolh.
Lawless men burn down a city: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 Hlang cueih loh hlang ang taengah lai a thui. Tedae a tlai phoeiah tah luem puei cakhaw mongnah om mahpawh.
A wise man shall judge nations: but a worthless man being angry laughs and fears not.
10 Thii aka hal hlang rhoek loh cuemthuek te a hmuhuet uh. Tedae aka thuem rhoek long tah a hinglu a toem pah.
Bloody men hate a holy [person], but the upright will seek his soul.
11 Aka ang loh a mueihla khaw boeih a poh. Tedae aka cueih long tah a hnuk ah domyok a ti.
A fool utters all is mind: but the wise reserves his in part.
12 A hong ol aka hnatung loh a taemrhai vaengah, a bibi rhoek khaw boeih halang uh.
When a king hearkens to unjust language, all his subjects are transgressors.
13 Khodaeng neh hlang kah a hnaephnapnah a humcui rhoi vaengah, BOEIPA loh a boktlap la mik a tueng sak.
When the creditor and debtor meet together, the Lord oversees them both.
14 A ngolkhoel cikngae yoeyah sak ham atah, tattloel ham khaw manghai loh oltak neh lai a tloek pah.
When a king judges the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for a testimony.
15 Cungcik neh toelthamnah loh cueihnah a paek. Tedae a hlahpham camoe loh a manu yah a bai.
Stripes and reproofs give wisdom: but an erring child disgraces his parents.
16 Halang rhoek a pul vaengah boekoek khaw pul. Tedae aka dueng long tah amih a cungkunah lam ni a hmuh eh.
When the ungodly abound, sins abound: but when they fall, the righteous are warned.
17 Na capa te toel lamtah na duem bitni. Na hinglu ham khaw buhmong m'paek ni.
Chasten your son, and he shall give you rest; and he shall give honor to your soul.
18 Mangthui a om pawt atah pilnam khaw pam. Tedae olkhueng aka ngaithuen tah a yoethen pai.
There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation: but he that observes the law is blessed.
19 Ol bueng neh sal a toel thai moenih. Yakming cakhaw hlat hae mahpawh.
A stubborn servant will not be reproved by words: for even if he understands, still he will not obey.
20 A ol neh aka cahawt hlang khaw na hmuh coeng. Anih lakah hlang ang taengah ngaiuepnah om ngai.
If you see a man hasty in [his] words, know that the fool has hope rather than he.
21 A sal te a camoe lamloh aka dom tah, a hmailong ah khoemtloel la a coeng pah ni.
He that lives wantonly from a child, shall be a servant, and in the end shall grieve over himself.
22 Thintoek hlang loh olpungkacan a huek tih, kosi boei khaw boekoek la muep om.
A furious man stirs up strife, and a passionate man digs up sin.
23 Hlang kah a hoemnah loh amah a kunyun sak. Te dongah a mueihla tlarhoel tah thangpomnah loh a moem.
Pride brings a man low, but the Lord upholds the humble-minded with honor.
24 Hlanghuen taengah boe aka soep tah, a hinglu ni a hmuhuet coeng. Thaephoeinah ya cakhaw, thui thai mahpawh.
He that shares with a thief, hates his own soul: and if any having heard an oath uttered tell not of it,
25 Hlang kah thuennah loh hlaeh ni a tung eh. Tedae BOEIPA dongah aka pangtung tah sueng.
[they] fearing and reverencing men [unreasonably] have been overthrown, but he that trusts in the Lord shall rejoice. Ungodliness causes a man to stumble: but he that trusts in his master shall be safe.
26 Aka taemrhai kah maelhmai khaw muep a tlap uh. Tedae hlang taengkah laitloeknah tah BOEIPA hut ni.
Many wait on the favor of rulers; but justice comes to a man from the Lord.
27 Hlang dueng long tah dumlai te tueilaehkoi a ti. Tedae halang long tah longpuei aka thuem te tueilaehkoi a ti van.
A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man, and the direct way is an abomination to the sinner.
