< Olcueih 22 >

1 Khuehtawn a yet lakah ming then tuek lah. Tangka lakah, sui lakah, mikdaithen ni aka then.
More choice, is a name, than great riches, beyond silver and gold, is pleasant grace.
2 Hlanglen neh khodaeng khaw humcuiuh. Amih boeih te khaw BOEIPA long ni a saii.
The rich and the poor, meet together, the maker of them all, is Yahweh.
3 Aka thaai long tah a thae a hmuh vaengah thuh la thuh uh. Tedae hlangyoe long tah a paan dongah lai a sah van.
A prudent man, seeth calamity, and hideth himself, but, the simple, pass on, and suffer.
4 Kodonah neh BOEIPA hinyahnah kah thapang tah, khuehtawn, thangpomnah neh hingnah la om.
The reward of humility, is the reverence of Yahweh, riches, and honour, and life.
5 Voeldak kah longpuei ah pael phoh neh a hling a hang om. A hinglu aka ngaithuen long tah te te a lakhla tak.
Thorns and snares, are in the way of the perverse, —he that guardeth his soul, shall be far from them.
6 Camoe te a long rhai ah nawn laeh. Te daengah ni a. patong vaengah te lamkah te a nong pawt eh ni.
Train up a youth, in the direction of his duty, even when he becometh old, he will not depart from it.
7 Hlanglen loh khodaeng a ngol thil tih cangpu aka rhong khaw cangpu aka hlah hlang kah sal la om.
The rich, over the poor, beareth rule, —and, slave, is the borrower to the lender.
8 Dumlai aka soem loh boethae te a ah rhoela a ah. Tedae amah kah thinpom caitueng loh a khah bitni.
He that soweth perversity, shall reap trouble, and, the rod of his wrath, shall be ready.
9 A mik aka then loh a buh te tattloel taengah a tael pah tih a yoethen bitni.
A benevolent eye, the same, shall be blessed, —because he hath given of his bread to the poor.
10 Hmuiyoi te haek lamtah olpungkacan te phuei saeh. Te vaengah dumlai neh a yah neh kangkuen saeh.
Drive away the scoffer, that strife may depart, and quarrel, and contempt may cease.
11 Lungbuei cim aka lungnah hlang tah a hmuilai khaw mikdaithen la om tih, manghai kah a paya la poeh.
Yahweh loveth the pure in heart, gracious are his lips, his friend is the king!
12 BOEIPA kah mik loh mingnah te a kueinah tih, hnukpoh kah olka te a paimaelh pah.
The eyes of Yahweh, watch over knowledge, therefore hath he overturned the words of the treacherous.
13 Kolhnaw long tah, “Kawtpoeng neh toltung lakli kah sathueng loh ng'ngawn ni ta,” a ti.
Saith the sluggard, A lion outside! Amidst the broadways, shall I be slain.
14 Kholong nu kah a ka ngawn tah vaam a dung la om. BOEIPA kah kosi a sah thil te tah pahoi cungku rhoe cungku ni.
A deep chasm, is the mouth of strange women, he with whom Yahweh is indignant, falleth there.
15 Camoe kah lungbuei ah anglat a hlaengtang pah. Thuituennah caitueng loh a taeng lamkah a lakhla sak bitni.
Foolishness, is bound up in the heart of a youth, the rod of correction, shall drive it far from him.
16 Amah kah rhoeng sak ham tattloel aka hnaemtaek, hlanglen taengla aka pae khaw, a tloelnah la rhep poeh ni.
He that oppresseth the poor, to make increase for himself, giving to the rich, shall surely come to want.
Incline thine ear and hear the words of wise men, then, thy heart, wilt thou apply to my teaching;
For sweet shall they be, when thou shalt keep them in thine inmost mind, they shall fit well together, upon thy lips.
That in Yahweh may be thy trust, I have made them known to thee to-day, even to thee.
20 Hlavai kah cilkhih neh mingnah sawmthum te nang hamla kan daek moenih a?
Have I not written for thee noble things, with counsels and knowledge:
21 Oltak ol te a tiktam la nang ming sak ham, oltak ol neh na thuung ham neh na tueih ham dae ni.
To cause thee to know the meaning of faithful sayings, that thou mayest give back faithful sayings to them who ask thee.
22 Tattloel tah a tattloel oeh dongah rheth boeh. Mangdaeng te khaw vongka ah phop boeh.
Do not rob the poor, because he is poor, neither crush thou the oppressed in the gate;
23 BOEIPA loh amih kah tuituknah te a rhoe pah vetih, amih aka mom rhoek te a hinglu a mom pah ni.
For, Yahweh, will plead their cause, and will despoil their despoilers of life.
24 Thintoek hlang te luem puei boeh. Sue la aka om hlang taengah khaw mop boeh.
Do not have friendship with one given to anger, and, with a wrathful man, shall thou not enter in:
25 Anih kah caehlong, caehlong ah na cang vetih, na hinglu te hlaeh dongah na man sak ve.
Lest thou learn his ways, and take a snare to thy soul.
26 Kut yut rhoek lakli ah, laiba dongah rhi aka khang rhoek lakli ah khaw, om boeh.
Be not of them who strike hands, of them who are sureties for debts:
27 A thuung ham na khueh pawt atah, balae tih, namah yueng la na thingkong te khuen saeh ne.
If thou hast nothing to pay, why should one take away thy bed from under thee?
Do not move back the ancient boundary, which thy father’s made.
29 Hlang ke na hmuh vaengah a bisai thai nen ni manghai rhoek kah mikhmuh ah a pai eh. Hlang mailai tah a mikhmuh ah pai mahpawh.
Seest thou a man prompt in his business? before kings, shall he stand, he shall not stand before men who are obscure.
