< Olcueih 21 >
1 Manghai kah a lungbuei tah sokca tui bangla BOEIPA kut dongah om tih, a ngaih bangla boeih a hoihaeng.
[Like] channels of water, is the heart of a king, in the hand of Yahweh, —whithersoever he will, he turneth it.
2 Longpuei boeih he hlang loh amah mikhmuh nen tah a thuem sak. Tedae BOEIPA long tah lungbuei ni a. khiing a lang.
Every way of a man, may be right in his own eyes, but, he that testeth hearts, is Yahweh.
3 Duengnah neh tiktamnah saii ham te BOEIPA loh hmueih lakah a ngaih.
To do righteousness and justice, is more choice to Yahweh than sacrifice.
4 Mik dongkah buhuengpomnah neh lungbuei a mungkung he halang rhoek kah tholhnah hmaithoi ni.
Loftiness of eyes, and ambition of heart—the lamp of the lawless, are sin.
5 Bi haam kah kopoek tah kumkonah la om yoeyah tih, aka cukhat boeih khaw tloelnah la om yoeyah.
The plans of the diligent, tend only to abundance, but, of every one that is urgent, only to want.
6 A hong ol lamkah bisai neh thakvoh tah ahonghi la huu tih, dueknah ni kang a toem coeng.
The gaining of treasures with a tongue of falsehood, is a vapour driven away, [they who seek them] seek death,
7 Halang loh a tiktam la saii ham a aal dongah, amamih kah a rhoelrhanah loh amamih a hmuh bitni.
The violence of the lawless, shall drag them away, —because they have refused to do justice.
8 A ko aka boi hlang kah longpuei tah kawn dae, aka cil tah a bisai a thuem pah.
Crooked is the way of a guilty man, but, as for the pure, straight is his dealing.
9 Hohmuhnah la aka om yuu neh hoilh aka khueh kah im lakah tah, imphu bangkil ah khosak te then ngai.
Better to dwell on the corner of the roof, than a quarrelsome wife, and a house in common.
10 Halang kah a hinglu long tah boethae a ngaidam tih, a mikhmuh kah a hui te khaw rhen pawh.
The soul of the lawless man, craveth mischief, his own friend, findeth no favour in his eyes.
11 Hmuiyoi loh lai a sah vaengah hlangyoe khaw cueih tih, a cueih hamla a cangbam vaengah mingnah khaw a dang.
When the scoffer is punished, the simple, becometh wise, when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
12 Hlang dueng long tah halang imkhui khaw a cangbam mai dae, halang rhoek long tah a thae la a paimaelh.
The Righteous One observeth the house of the lawless, —He is ready to cast down lawless men into misfortune.
13 Tattloel kah a doek te a hna aka buem thil tah, amah a pang van vaengah doo uh mahpawh.
He that shutteth his ear from the cry of the poor, even he, shall call, and not be answered.
14 A huephael kah kutdoe loh thintoek, a rhang dongkah kapbaih loh kosi aka tlung te a daeh sak.
A gift in secret, quencheth anger, and, a present in the bosom, mighty wrath.
15 Hlang dueng hamtah tah a tiktamnah a saii te kohoenah la om tih, boethae aka saii rhoek ham tah porhaknah la om.
It is a joy, to a righteous man, to do justice, but, dismay, to the workers of iniquity.
16 Hlang aka cangbam kah longpuei lamloh kho aka hmang hlang tah, sairhai kah hlangping lakli ah duem.
The man who wandereth from the way of discretion, in the gathered host of the shades, shall settle down.
17 Kohoenah aka lungnah aih khaw hlang kah a tloelnah la poeh tih, misurtui neh situi aka lungnah khaw boei mahpawh.
A needy man, shall he be that loveth merriment, the lover of wine and oil, shall not become rich.
18 Halang te hlang dueng ham, hnukpoh te aka thuem ham tlansum la om.
A ransom for the righteous, is the lawless, and, instead of upright men, the traitor.
19 Hohmuhnah, konoinah neh yuu taengah olpungkacan la om lakah tah, khosoek khohmuen ah khosak he then ngai.
Better to dwell in a desert land, than with a woman, quarrelsome and provoking.
20 Hlang cueih tolkhoeng kah thakvoh neh situi tah a naikap dae, hlang ang long tah te te a yoop.
Desirable treasure and oil, are in the home of the wise, but, a man who is a dullard, will destroy it.
21 Duengnah neh sitlohnah aka hloem long tah, duengnah neh thangpomnah dongkah hingnah te a dang ni.
He that pursueth righteousness and lovingkindness, shall find life, righteousness and honour.
22 Hlangrhalh rhoek kah khopuei te hlang cueih pakhat long ni a paan tih, a sarhi la a pangtungnah uh khaw a phil pah.
A city of heroes, doth a wise man scale, and bringeth down the strength of its confidence.
23 A ol a ka aka tuem long tah, a hinglu te citcai khui lamkah a hoep a tlang.
He that keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth, out of distresses, his soul.
24 Thinlen, moemlal, a ming ah hmuiyoi long tah, thinpom althanah neh a saii.
A haughty insolent one—Scoffer is his name, is he that acteth in a transport of pride.
25 A kut loh a saii ham a aal dongah kolhnaw kah hoehhamnah loh amah a duek sak ni.
The craving of the sluggard, killeth him, for his hands have refused to work.
26 Hnin takuem ah hoehhamnah te a ngaidam dae, aka dueng long tah a paek phoeiah khaw a hnaih moneih.
All the day, he greatly craveth, whereas, the righteous, giveth, and doth not spare.
27 Halang kah hmueih he tueilaehkoi ti bal vaengah, khonuen rhamtat la a khuen bal pueng.
The sacrifice of the lawless, is an abomination, how much more, when, with wickedness, he bringeth it in!
28 Laithae kah laipai tah paltham vetih, aka hnatun hlang long ni a thui yoeyah eh.
A false witness, shall perish, but, the man who hearkeneth, with abiding effect, shall speak.
29 Halang loh a mikhmuh dawk neh hlang a tanglue sak. Tedae aka thuem long tah a long, long ah a rhuep tih a yakming.
A lawless man emboldeneth his face, but, as for the upright, he, directeth his ways.
30 BOEIPA aka tlai thil thai cueihnah khaw om pawh, lungcuei khaw om pawh, cilsuep khaw om thai pawh.
There is no wisdom, nor understanding, nor counsel, to confront Yahweh.
31 Marhang khaw caemtloek hnin kah ham a tawn coeng dae, BOEIPA daengah ni loeihnah a dang.
The horse, is prepared for the day of battle, but, to Yahweh, pertaineth the victory.
