1 Egypt khohmuen lamloh a coe uh phoeikaha kum bae hla lamhma vaengah, BOEIPA loh Moses te Sinai khosoek aha voek tih,
The Lord spoke to Moses in the Sinai desert in the first month of the second year after Israel had left Egypt. He told him,
2 Israel ca rhoek loh amah khoning vaengah Yoom te saii saeh.
“The Israelites are to keep the Passover at its designated time.
3 Tahae hlasae kah hnin hlai li hlaem vaengah saii uh. Te te amah khotue vaengah a khosing cungkuem neh a tiktamnah cungkuem bangla saii uh,” a ti nah.
Observe it at the time required—in the evening after sunset on the fourteenth day of this month, and do so in accordance with its rules and regulations.”
4 Te dongah Yoom saii hamte Moses loh Israel carhoek taengaha thui pah.
Moses told the Israelites to observe the Passover.
5 Te dongah Yoom te lamhmacuek la hlasae hnin hlai li hlaem ah tah Sinai khosoek aha saii uh. A cungkuem dongah BOEIPA loh Mosesa uen bangla Israel ca rhoek loh a saii uh van.
So they kept the Passover in the Sinai desert, beginning in the evening after sunset on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites followed all the instructions the Lord had given to Moses.
6 Hlang hinglu lamloh rhalawt la aka om hlangrhoek khaw om. Te dongah te khohnin ah Yoom saii uh thai pawh. Tedae amah khohnin ah Moses mikhmuh neh Aaron mikhmuh la tawn uh.
However, there were some men who were unclean because they had been contact with a dead body, so they could not keep the Passover on that day. They went to see Moses and Aaron the same day
7 Te kah hlang rhoek loh a taengah, “Kaimih he hlang kah hinglu kongah ka rhalawt uh. Balae tih amah khoning vaengah Israel ca lakli ah BOEIPA kah nawnnah te khuen pawt ham n'hloh uh?” a ti uh.
and explained to Moses, “We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should that mean we're prevented from giving our offering to the Lord with the other Israelites at the appropriate time?”
8 Moses loh amih te, “Om uh lamtah BOEIPA loh nangmih ham ng'uen te ka hnatung dae eh,” a ti nah.
“Stay here while I find out what the Lord's instructions are concerning you,” Moses responded.
9 Te phoeiah BOEIPA loh Moses tea voek tih,
The Lord told Moses,
10 “Israel carhoek te thui pah. Hlang pakhat he hinglu kongah rhalawtlaa om vaengah khaw, khola longpueng ah khaw, namah neh na caldilcahma loh thui pah lamtah BOEIPA kah Yoomte saii saeh.
“Tell the Israelites: ‘If you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body, or are away traveling, you can still keep the Lord's Passover.
11 Te tea hla bae dongkah hnin hlai li hlaem ah saii uh saeh lamtah vaidamding te ankhaa neh hmaeh uh saeh.
You are to observe it in the evening after sunset on the fourteenth day of the second month. You are to eat the lamb with the bread made without yeast, and the bitter herbs.
12 Te te mincang hil paih uh boel saeh. A rhuh khaw paep sak uh boel saeh lamtah a cungkuem dongah Yoom kah khosing bangla saii uh saeh.
You must not leave any of it until the following morning and you must not break any of its bones. You must observe the Passover according to all the regulations.
13 Tedae hlang te tuicil tih longpueng ah khaw om pawt dae Yoom saii hama toeng atah a pilnam lamloh a hinglu thup pah kangna saeh. Amah khoning ah BOEIPA kah nawnnah te a khuen pawt dongah te kah hlangte amah tholhnah amah loh phuei saeh.
However, anyone ceremonially clean and not away traveling who neglects to observe the Passover must be expelled from their people, because they didn't present the Lord's offering at the appropriate time. They will bear the responsibility for the consequences of their sin.
14 Nangmih taengah yinlai bakuep mai cakhaw Yoom kah khosing neh a rhimong bangla BOEIPA kah Yoomte saii saeh. A saii vaengah a khosingte nangmih ham neh yinlai ham khaw, khohmuen mupoe ham khaw pakhat la om saeh,” a ti nah.
Any foreigners living among you who want to observe the Lord's Passover can do so following the Passover rules and regulations. The same rules apply to the foreigners as they do to you.’”
15 Dungtlungima thoh hnin ah cingmai loh dungtlungim kah laipainah dap tea khuk. Te vaengah hlaemhmah lamloh mincang hil dungtlungim dongah hmai kah mueimae bangla tueng.
The cloud covered the Tent of the Testimony (the Tabernacle) on the day that it was set up, and looked like fire above it from evening until the morning.
16 Cingmai loh phueiha khuk vaengah tah khoyinah hmai kah a mueimae la tueng.
It was always like this. The cloud covered the Tabernacle during the day and at night it looked like fire.
17 Cingmaite dap so lamloh nong ham ka a ong phoei daengah ni Israel ca rhoek khaw a hlah uh. Tedae cingmai duem nah hmuen ah Israel carhoekkhaw pahoi rhaeh uh.
When the cloud rose from over the Tent, the Israelites would move on, and where the cloud stopped, the Israelites would set up camp there.
18 Israel ca rhoek te BOEIPA kah olka dongah cet uh tih BOEIPA olka dongah rhaeh uh. Cingmaite dungtlungim soaha duem hnin boeih ah amih khaw rhaeh uh.
The Israelites moved on when the Lord told them to, and set up camp when the Lord told them to. While the cloud stayed over the Tabernacle, they remained camped there.
19 Cingmai loh dungtlungim soah khohnina yeta uelh vaengah tah Israel ca rhoek loh BOEIPA kah a kuek tea ngaithuen uh tih cet uh voel pawh.
Even if the cloud didn't move for a long time, the Israelites did what the Lord told them and didn't move on.
20 Cingmaite dungtlungim dongah khohnin kolkalh om cakhaw BOEIPA olka dongah rhaeh uh tih BOEIPA olka dongah cet uh.
Sometimes the cloud only stayed over the Tabernacle for a few days. As always they followed the Lord's command as to whether to camp or to move on.
21 Cingmaite hlaem lamloh mincang hil om tih mincang ah khaw cingmai te a thoeih daengah ni a caeh uh. Khothaih neh khoyinah khaw cingmaia caeh vaengah cet uh van.
Sometimes the cloud only stayed overnight, so when it rose in the morning they would move on. Whenever the cloud rose, day or night, they would leave.
22 Khohnin neh hla neh kum neh dungtlungim soah cingmaite uelh. A soaha om vaengah tah Israel ca rhoek te rhaeh uh tih cet uh pawh. Tedae a thoeih daengah ni a caeh uh.
If the cloud stayed in one place for two days, or a month, or longer, the Israelites stayed where they were and didn't leave as long as the cloud remained over the Tabernacle. However, once it rose, they would leave.
23 BOEIPA kah olka dongah rhaeh uh tih BOEIPA kah olka dongah cet uh. BOEIPA kah a kuek tah Moses kut dongkah BOEIPA olka tea ngaithuen uh.
They camped when the Lord told them to, and left when he told them to. They followed the Lord's instructions that he gave to Moses.
