1 Te phoeiah Levi koca Kohath kah a ca Izhar capa Korah, Eliab ca rhoi Dathan neh Abiram, Reuben koca Peleth capa On te a khuen.
And Korah, son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, takes both Dathan and Abiram sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth, sons of Reuben,
2 Te phoeiah Israel ca lamloh hlang yahnih sawmnga, hlang kah tingtunnah khuikah ming aka thang, rhaengpuei khoboeirhoek neh Moses mikhmuh ah tlai uh.
and they rise up before Moses with men of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the congregation, called of the convention, men of renown,
3 Moses taeng neh Aaron taengah tingtun uh tih amih rhoi taengah, “Rhaengpuei boeih ham nangmih rhoi te rhoekoe aih. Amihte boeih cim uh tih amih lakli taengah BOEIPA om ta. Balaetih BOEIPA kah hlangping soahna palawh uh rhoi,” a ti uh.
and they are assembled against Moses and against Aaron, and say to them, “Enough of you! For all the congregation—all of them [are] holy, and YHWH [is] in their midst; and why do you lift yourselves up above the assembly of YHWH?”
4 Tedae Mosesloh a yaak vaengah a maelhmai dongah buekuep.
And Moses hears, and falls on his face,
5 Te phoeiah Korah taeng neh a hlangboel boeih taengah, “Mincangah BOEIPA amah taengkah neh hlangcim te mingpha bitni. A taenglaa moe vaengah amah hama coelh te ni anih taengaha moe pa eh.
and he speaks to Korah and to all his congregation, saying, “Indeed, [in the] morning YHWH may cause [you] to know those who are His and him who is holy, and has brought [him] near to Him; even him whom He fixes on He brings near to Him.
6 He he saii uh lamtah Korah neh a hlangboel boeih aw, baelphaihte namamih ham lo uh.
Do this: take censers for yourselves—Korah and all his company—
7 Terhoek dongah hmai khueh lamtah te nente BOEIPA mikhmuh ah bo-ul tawn pah. Thangvuenah khaw BOEIPA kah a coelh hlang om bitni. Anihte Levi koca nangmih taengah muep cim ngawn,” a ti nah.
and put fire in them and put incense on them before YHWH tomorrow, and it has been, the man whom YHWH chooses, he [is] the holy one—enough of you, sons of Levi!”
8 Moses loh Korah te akhue tih, “Levi koca hnatun uh mai.
And Moses says to Korah, “Now hear, sons of Levi;
9 Israel Pathen loh nangmih te Israel rhaengpuei taeng lamloh amah taengla khuen ham, BOEIPA dungtlungim kah thohtatnah dongah thohtat ham, rhaengpuei mikhmuh kah aka thotat te pai puei ham nangmih n'hoep te nangmih hama mailai a?
is it little to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel to bring you near to Himself, to do the service of the Dwelling Place of YHWH, and to stand before the congregation to serve them?
10 Nang neh na manuca boeih, na taengkah Levi koca rhoek m'mop lalah khosoihbina hue bal pueng.
Indeed, He brings you near, and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, with you—and you have also sought the priesthood!
11 Te dongah nang neh na hlangboel boeih loh BOEIPAna tuentah thil uh. A taengaha nul la na nul uh ham akhaw Aaronte mebang nim?” a ti nah.
Therefore, you and all your congregation are meeting against YHWH; and Aaron, what [is] he, that you murmur against him?”
12 Te phoeiah Eliab koca Dathan neh Abiram te khue ham Mosesloh a tah.
And Moses sends to call for Dathan and for Abiram, sons of Eliab, and they say, “We do not come up!
13 Tedae, “Ka cet uh mahpawh, khosoek ah kaimih duek sak ham suktui neh khoitui aka long khohmuen lamloh kaimih n'caeh puei tea mailai a? Kaimih soahna boei lana boei van.
Is it little that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to put us to death in a wilderness, that you also certainly make yourself prince over us?
14 Suktui neh khoitui aka long khohmuen la kaimih nang khuen pawt bueng kolla khohmuen neh misurdum khaw kaimih ham rho nan paek loela he. Hlangte a mikna koeih aya? Ka lo uh mahpawh,” a ti uh.
Indeed, you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor do you give an inheritance of field and vineyard to us; do you pick out the eyes of these men? We do not come up!”
15 Te vaengah Moses te sai khungdaeng tih BOEIPA taengah, “Amih kah khocang taengla mael boeh, amih lamkah laak pakhat pataeng ka khuen pawt tih amih soah pakhat khaw ka thae moenih a ti nah.
And it is very displeasing to Moses, and he says to YHWH, “Do not turn to their present; I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I afflicted one of them.”
16 Te phoeiah Moses loh Korah te, “Namah neh na hlangboel boeih aw, thangvuen ah tah namah khaw, amih khaw Aaron khaw BOEIPA mikhmuh ah om uh.
And Moses says to Korah, “You and all your congregation, be [present] before YHWH—you, and they, and Aaron—tomorrow;
17 Hlang loh amah baelphaih khuen saeh lamtah a khuiah bo-ul khueh pah. Te vaengah hlang kah a baelphaih khaw, nang neh Aaron kah khaw, khat rhip kah a baelphaihte baelphaih yahnih sawmnga la BOEIPA mikhmuh ah khuen pah,” a ti nah.
and let each take his censer and you have put incense on them, and each has brought his censer near before YHWH—two hundred and fifty censers; indeed, you and Aaron, each [with] his censer.”
18 Te dongah hlang tom loh a baelphaih te a loh tih a khuiah hmaia poep uh. Te soah bo-ula poep thil phoeiah tah tingtunnah dap thohka kah Moses neh Aaron taengah pai uh.
And they each take his censer, and put fire on them, and lay incense on them, and they stand at the opening of the Tent of Meeting with Moses and Aaron.
19 Tingtunnah dap thohka kah amih hmaiah Korah loh rhaengpuei boeih tea tingtun sak. Te vaengah BOEIPA kah thangpomnah tah rhaengpuei boeih taengaha tueng pah.
And Korah assembles all the congregation against them at the opening of the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of YHWH is seen by all the congregation.
20 Te vaengah BOEIPA loh Moses neh Aaron tea voek tih,
And YHWH speaks to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
21 He rhaengpuei khui lamloh tuiphih rhoi lamtah amihte mikhaptok ah ni ka khah eh?,” a ti nah.
“Be separated from the midst of this congregation, and I consume them in a moment”;
22 Tedae a maelhmai dongah bakop rhoi tih, “Pathen aw, pumsa cungkuem kah Mueihla Pathen aw, hlang pakhata tholh dongah rhaengpuei boeih taengahna thintoek mai,” a ti rhoi.
and they fall on their faces, and say, “God, God of the spirits of all flesh—one man sins, and are You angry against all the congregation?”
23 BOEIPA loh Moses tea voek tih,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
24 Rhaengpuei te voek lamtah thui pah. Korah, Dathan neh Abiram kah dungtlungim taeng kaepvai lamloh cet uh laeh,” a ti nah.
“Speak to the congregation, saying, Go up from around the dwelling place of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.”
25 Moseste thoo tih Israel kah a hamrhoek Dathan neh Abiram neh anih hnukah aka cetrhoek tea paan.
And Moses rises, and goes to Dathan and Abiram, and [the] elderly of Israel go after him,
26 Rhaengpuei taengaha thui pah tih, “Halang hlang rhoek kah dap dong lamlong he nong uh laeh, amih taengkah boeih te tah ben uh boeh, amih kah tholh cungkuem dongahna khoengvoep uh ve,” a ti nah.
and he speaks to the congregation, saying, “Now turn aside from the tents of these wicked men, and do not come against anything that they have, lest you are consumed in all their sins.”
27 Te dongah Korah, Dathan kah dungtlungim taeng lamkah neh Abiram kaepvai lamloh nong uh. Te vaengah amamih kah dap thohka ah aka pai Dathan neh Abiram tah a yuurhoek neh a carhoek khaw, camoe khaw ha moe uh.
And they go up from the dwelling place of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, from all around, and Dathan and Abiram have come out, standing at the opening of their tents, with their wives, and their sons, and their infants.
28 Te vaengah Moses loh, “He bitat cungkuem saii ham he kamah lungbuei lamkah pawt tih BOEIPA loh kai n'tueih khaw he nen he ming uh.
And Moses says, “By this you know that YHWH has sent me to do all these works, that [they are] not from my own heart;
29 Hlang cungkuema duek bangla herhoek duek tih hlang cungkuem aka cawhkung bangla amih neh cawh koinih BOEIPA loh kai n'tueih mahpawh.
if these die according to the death of all men, or the charge of all men is charged on them, YHWH has not sent me;
30 Tedae BOEIPA loh hnothaia suen tih diklai loh a kaa ang khaming. Te vaengah amamih neh amih taengkaha cungkuem te dolh saeh lamtaha hingnahte saelkhui la suntla uh saeh. Te vaengah he kah hlang rhoek loh BOEIPAa tlaitlaek uh tena ming uh bitni,” a ti nah. (Sheol )
but if YHWH does a strange thing, and the ground has opened her mouth and swallowed them and all that they have, and they have gone down alive to Sheol, then you have known that these men have despised YHWH.” (Sheol )
31 He ol cungkuema thui te a khah van neh diklaite a dang ueth coeng.
And it comes to pass at his finishing speaking all these words, that the ground which [is] under them cleaves,
32 Te dongah diklai loh a kaa ang tih amih, Korah neh a im khaw, a hlang boeih neha khuehtawn boeih tea dolh pah.
and the earth opens her mouth and swallows them, and their houses, and all the men who [are] for Korah, and all the goods,
33 Amih neh amih taengkah boeihte saelkhui aha hinglaa suntlak uh phoeiah tah amih te diklailoh a et tih hlangping lakli lamloh milh uh. (Sheol )
and they go down—they and all that they have—alive to Sheol, and the earth closes over them, and they perish from the midst of the assembly; (Sheol )
34 Te dongah amih kaepvai kah Israel pum long tah, “Diklai loh mamih n'dolh van ve,” a ti uh tih a ol neh rhaelrham uh.
and all Israel who [are] around them have fled at their voice, for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us”;
35 Te phoeiah hmaite BOEIPA taeng lamloh ha puek tih bo-ul aka nawn hlang yahnih sawmnga te hlawp.
and fire has come out from YHWH and consumes the two hundred and fifty men bringing the incense near.
36 Te phoeiah BOEIPA loh Moses tea voek tih,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
37 “Khosoih Aaron capa Eleazar te thui pah. Baelphaih te ungkhang laklo lamloh koeih saeh lamtah hmai te khaw a ciim coeng dongah voelh thaek saeh.
“Say to Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to lift up the censers from the midst of the burning and scatter the fire away, for they have been hallowed.
38 Amih kah hinglu kongah he hlangtholh rhoek kah baelphaihrhoek he phaldaep la phal uh saeh lamtah hmueihtuk dongkaha ben ham khaw te te saii uh saeh. Te rhoek te BOEIPA mikhmuh ah nawn uh saeh lamtah ciim uh saeh. Te vaengah Israel carhoek ham miknoek la om saeh,” a ti nah.
[As for] the censers of these sinners against their own souls, indeed, they have made them [into] spread-out plates [for] a covering for the altar, for they have brought them near before YHWH, and they are hallowed; and they become a sign to the sons of Israel.”
39 Te dongaha khuen uh tih aka ung tangtae rhohum baelphaih te khosoih Eleazara loh. Te phoeiah tete hmueihtuk dongkah ben ham a daep uh.
And Eleazar the priest takes the bronze censers which they who are burned had brought near, and they spread them out [for] a covering for the altar—
40 Israel carhoek ham poekkoepnah la a om daengah ni Aaron tiingan lamkah mueh atah BOEIPA mikhmuh ah bo-ul phum ham kholong hlanga mop pawt eh. Te dongah BOEIPA Moses kut dongaha uen vanbangla Korah neh a hlangboel bang tah om boel saeh.
a memorial to the sons of Israel, so that a stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron does not draw near to make incense before YHWH, and is not as Korah and as his congregation, as YHWH has spoken by the hand of Moses to him.
41 A vuen ah tah Israel ca rhaengpuei boeihte Moses taeng neh Aaron taengah nul tih, “BOEIPA kah pilnam te na duek sak rhoi,” a ti na uh.
And on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmurs against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have put the people of YHWH to death.”
42 Tedae rhaengpuei loh Moses neh Aaron tea tingtun thil uh tih tingtunnah dap la mael uh. Te vaengah cingmai loh tarhaa thing tih BOEIPA kah thangpomnah khaw tueng.
And it comes to pass, in the congregation being assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they turn toward the Tent of Meeting, and behold, the cloud has covered it and the glory of YHWH is seen;
43 Te daengah Moses neh Aaronte tingtunnah dap hmai la moe rhoi.
and Moses comes—Aaron also—to the front of the Tent of Meeting.
44 BOEIPA loh Moses tea voek tih,
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
45 “He rhaengpuei khui lamloh cungpet rhoi lamtah amih te mikhaptok ah ni ka khah eh?,” a ti nah. Te dongah a maelhmai neh bakop rhoi.
“Get up from the midst of this congregation, and I consume them in a moment”; and they fall on their faces,
46 Te phoeiah Moses loh Aaron taengah, “Baelphaih te lo lamtah a khuiah hmueihtuk dongkah hmaina poep phoeiah bo-ul mop thil, rhaengpuei taengla tlek cet lamtah amih ham dawth pah. BOEIPA maelhmai dong lamloh thinhulnah ha thoengtih tlohthae ha tawn uh coeng,” a ti nah.
and Moses says to Aaron, “Take the censer and put fire on it from off the altar, and place incense, and go quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for the wrath has gone out from the presence of YHWH—the plague has begun.”
47 Te dongah Moses kah a thui bangla Aaronloh a loh tih hlangping khui la yong. Te vaengah tlohthae loh pilnam tarhaa phoei coeng. Tedae bo-ul tea phum tih pilnam hama dawth pah.
And Aaron takes [it] as Moses has spoken, and runs to the midst of the assembly, and behold, the plague has begun among the people; and he gives the incense, and makes atonement for the people,
48 Aka duek laklo neh aka hing laklo ah a pai vaengah lucik khaw cing.
and stands between the dead and the living, and the plague is restrained;
49 Korah ol aha duek uh bueng kolla lucik ah aka duek rhoek he thawng hlai li ya rhih lo uh.
and those who die by the plague are fourteen thousand and seven hundred, apart from those who die for the matter of Korah;
50 Lucika cing daengah Aaron khaw tingtunnah dap thohka kah Moses taengla mael.
and Aaron turns back to Moses, to the opening of the Tent of Meeting, and the plague has been restrained.
