1 Te phoeiah tunim la koep a kun hatah, kuta koh la aka om hlang pakhat tapkhoeh om.
On another occasion Jesus went in to a Synagogue, where there was a man whose hand was withered.
2 Te vaengah anihte Sabbath aha hoeih sak atah paelnaeh hamla Jesuh te a dawn uh.
And they watched Jesus closely, to see if he would cure the man on the Sabbath, so that they might have a charge to bring against him.
3 Te vaengah Jesuh loh kuta koh la aka om hlang te, “A laklung ah pai lah,” a ti nah.
“Stand out in the middle,” Jesus said to the man with the withered hand;
4 Te phoeiah amih te, “Sabbath ah hno then saii ham pawt atah thae ham, hinglu hlawt ham pawt atah ngawn ham a? a ngaih?” a ti nah. Tedae amihloh a hil a phahuh.
and to the people he said: “Is it allowable to do good on the Sabbath — or harm? to save a life, or destroy it?”
5 Te dongah amihte thintoek neha sawt. Amih thinko kah thinthahnah soaha kothae. Tekah hlang te, “Na kut te yueng lah,” a ti nah. A yueng tangloeng tih a kut khaw hoeih.
As they remained silent, Jesus looked round at them in anger, grieving at the hardness of their hearts, and said to the man: “Stretch out your hand.” The man stretched it out; and his hand had become sound.
6 Tedae Phariseerhoek tah Herod kah hlang rhoek taengla tlek cet uh tih Jesuh poci ham dawtletnaha khueh thil uh.
Immediately on leaving the Synagogue, the Pharisees and the Herodians united in laying a plot against Jesus, to put him to death.
7 Jesuh tah a hnukbangrhoek neh tuili laa caeh uh hatah Galilee rhaengpuei loh muepa vai uh.
Then Jesus went away with his disciples to the Sea, followed by a great number of people from Galilee.
8 Te vaengah Judea lamkah, Jerusalem kah, Idumea kah, Jordan rhalvangan, Tyre taengvai neh Sidon lamkah rhaengpuei boeih neh a bisaii boeih te aka ya rhoek loh a taeng la ha pawk uh.
And a great number, hearing of all that he was doing, came to him from Judea, from Jerusalem, from Edom, from beyond the Jordan, and from the country round Tyre and Sidon.
9 Tedae a hnukbangrhoek te, “Amah ham lawng mah khuituk, hlangping te a khuiah thet pawt nim,” a ti nah.
So Jesus told his disciples to keep a small boat close by, for fear the crowd should crush him.
10 Te vaengah hlang muepa hoeih sak dongah tloh aka khueh boeih loh Jesuhte taek sak ham amah te a nan uh.
For he had cured many of them, and so people kept crowding upon him, that all who were afflicted might touch him.
11 Rhalawt mueihla loh anih a hmuh uh vaengah a bakop thil uh tih a pang doela, “Nang tah Pathen Capa ni,” a ti uh.
The foul spirits, too, whenever they caught sight of him, flung themselves down before him, and screamed out: “You are the Son of God”!
12 Tedae amah te kawng te mingpha la ng'khue pawt ham amihte khaka uen.
But he repeatedly warned them not to make him known.
13 Te phoeiah Jesuh tlang la luei hang tih a ngaihrhoek tea khue dongah a taengla cet uh.
And Jesus made his way up the hill, and called those whom he wished; and they went to him.
14 Te vaengah hlainita tuektih amihte caeltueihlaa khue bal. Te daengah ni amah taengah om uh vetih olthangthen aka hoe la,
And he appointed twelve — whom he also named ‘Apostles’ — that they might be with him, and that he might send them out as his Messengers, to preach,
15 saithainah aka khueh la, rhaithae aka haek la amih te a tueih pai eh.
and with power to drive out demons.
16 Te vaengkah Simon la ming aka pae Peter,
So he appointed the Twelve — Peter (which was the name that Jesus gave to Simon),
17 Zebedee kah capa James neh James kah manuca Johan amih rhoi te Boanerges minga paek. Te tah rhaek capa rhoi ni.
James, the son of Zebediah, and his brother John (to whom he gave the name of Boanerges, which means the Thunderers),
18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthai, Thomas, Alphaeus capa James, Taddaeus, neh Kanaan Simon,
Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot,
19 amah aka voei Judah Iskariot tila hlainit tea tuek.
and Judas Iscariot, the man that betrayed him.
20 Te phoeiah im khuilaa caeh hatah hlangping loh koepa tingtun pah. Te dongah amamih khaw coeng thai pawttih buh ca uh pawh.
Jesus went into a house; and again a crowd collected, so that they were not able even to eat their food.
21 A taengkahrhoek loha yaak uh vaengah, “Limlum coeng,” a ti uh tih amahte tuuk hamla cet uh.
When his relations heard of it, they went to take charge of him, for they said that he was out of his mind.
22 Te vaengah cadaekrhoek tah Jerusalem lamloh suntla u tih, “Beezebula khueh dongah ni rhaithae boei rhangneh rhaithae tea haek,” a ti uh.
And the Teachers of the Law, who had come down from Jerusalem, said: “He has Baal-zebub in him, and he drives the demons out by the help of Baal-zebub, their chief.”
23 Tedae amih te a khuetih nuettahnah neh amih taengah, “Satan loh Satan te a haek ham coeng thai aya te?
So Jesus called them to him, and answered them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan?
24 Ram pakhat tah amah te a paekboe coeng atah tekah ram te a pai thai moenih.
When a kingdom is divided against itself, it cannot last;
25 Te phoeiah im khaw amah a paekboe koinih tekah im te pai thai mahpawh.
and when a household is divided against itself, it will not be able to last.
26 Satan loh amah te pai thil tih paekboe koinih pai thai pawt vetih a palthamnah la om ni ta.
So, if Satan is in revolt against himself and is divided, he cannot last — his end has come!
27 Tedae Hlang tlung te lamhma la a pin pawt atah hlang tlung kah im ah hnopai te muk ham a kun thai loeng loeng moenih. A pin phoei daengah ni a im te a muk pa eh.
“No man who has got into a strong man’s house can carry off his goods, without first securing him; and not till then will he plunder his house.
28 Nangmih taengah rhep kan thui, tholhsainah neh soehsalnah neh aka soehsal uh hlang ca rhoek te tah boeih a hlah ni.
I tell you that men will be forgiven everything — their sins, and all the slanders that they utter;
29 Tedae Mueihla Cim taengah aka soehsal te tah kumhal duela khodawkngainah om mahpawh,” a ti nah. (aiōn , aiōnios )
but whoever slanders the Holy Spirit remains unforgiven to the end; he has to answer for an enduring sin.” (aiōn , aiōnios )
30 Tedae, “Rhalawt mueihlaa kaem,” a ti uh dongah dungyan tholhsainah om kuekluek coeng.
This was said in reply to the charge that he had a foul spirit in him.
31 Te vaengah a manu neh a manarhoek te ha pawk uh. Tedae poengben ah pai uh tih Jesuh aka khue ham te a tueih uh.
And his mother and his brothers came, and stood outside, and sent to ask him to come to them.
32 Te dongah a taengkah kah aka ngol hlangping loh, “Na nu, na manarhoek neh na ngannu rhoek loh poengben ah nang n'toem uh ke,” a ti nah.
There was a crowd sitting round Jesus, and some of them said to him: “Look, your mother and your brothers are outside, asking for you.”
33 Tedae amih te a doo tih, “Kai manu neh kai manuca rhoek te unim? unim manuca rhoek la aka om?” a ti nah.
“Who is my mother? and my brothers?” was his reply.
34 Te phoeiah a taengvai ah aka ngolrhoek tea sawt tih, “Ka manu neh ka manuca rhoek la he,
Then he looked around on the people sitting in a circle round him, and said: “Here are my mother and my brothers!
35 Pathen kah kongaih aka saii rhoek te tah ka manuca, ka ngannu neh ka manu la om,” a ti nah.
Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”
