< Marku 10 >

1 Te lamloh thoo tih Judea vaang neh Jordan rhalvangan la cet. Te vaengah a taengah hlangping rhoek koep ha puei uh tih a sainoek bangla amih te koep a thuituen.
Then he arose and came into the confines of Judea, through the country upon the Jordan. Again multitudes resorted to him; and again, as his custom was, he taught them.
2 Tedae Pharisee rhoek loh a paan tih, “Te koinih tongpa te yuu a hlak sak a? tila a dawt uh tih Jesuh te a noemcai uh.
And some Pharisees came, who, to try him, asked him, Is it lawful for the husband to divorce his wife?
3 Tedae amih te a doo tih, “Moses loh nangmih balae n' uen,” a ti nah.
He answering, said to them, What precept has Moses given you on this subject?
4 Te dongah amih loh, “Moses loh yuhlaknah cayol te a daek sak phoeiah a tueih sak,” a ti uh.
They replied, Moses has permitted us to write her a bill of divorcement, and dismiss her.
5 Tedae Jesuh loh amih te, “Nangmih kah thinthahnah kongah hekah olpaek he nangmih ham a daek.
Jesus answering, said to them, Because of your untractable disposition, Moses gave you this permission.
6 Suentae cuek lamkah tongpa neh huta ni a saii.
But from the beginning, at the creation, God made them a male and a female.
7 Te dongah tongpa loh a manu neh a napa te a toeng vetih a yuu taengah kap ni.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall adhere to his wife,
and they two shall be one flesh. They are, therefore, not longer two, but one flesh.
9 Te dongah Pathen loh a samtom te hlang loh maa sak boel saeh,” a ti nah.
What then God has conjoined, let no man separate.
10 Im ah khaw hekah a kawng he hnukbang rhoek loh koep a dawt uh.
And, in the house, his disciples asked him anew concerning this matter.
11 Te vaengah amih te, “A yuu te a hlak tih a tloe aka yunah te tah a yuu soah samphaih coeng.
He said to them, Whosoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her;
12 Huta long khaw a va te a maa tih va tloe a sak atah samphaih coeng,” a ti nah.
and if a woman divorce her husband, and marry another, she commits adultery.
13 Te phoeiah camoe rhoek te taek sak ham a taengla a khuen uh. Tedae hnukbang rhoek loh amih te a ho uh.
Then they brought children to him, that he might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 A hmuh vaengah Jesuh loh a yakdam tih amih te, “Hlah uh laeh camoe rhoek te kamah taengah ha lo uh saeh. Amih te kang uh boeh. Pathen kah ram tah amih kah coeng ni.
Jesus perceiving this, was offended, and said, Allow the children to come to me, do not hinder them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Nangmih taengah rhep ka thui, camoe bangla Pathen kah ram te aka doe pawt te atah ram khuiah kun loengloeng mahpawh,” a ti nah.
Indeed, I say to you, whosoever will not receive the kingdom of God as a child, shall never enter it.
16 Te phoeiah amih te a poem tih a uem dongah kut a tloeng thil.
Then taking them up in his arms, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.
17 Te phoeiah Jesuh te longpueng ah a caeh li vaengah hlang pakhat loh pak ha cu tih a cungkueng pah. Te phoeiah, “Saya then dungyan hingnah ka pang ham balae ka saii eh?,” tila a dawt. (aiōnios g166)
As he went out into the road, one came running to him, who, kneeling, asked him, Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
18 Jesuh loh anih te, “Balae tih kai he a then na ti? Pathen pakhat bueng pawt atah aka then he om pawh.
Jesus answered, Why do you call me good? God alone is good.
Do you know the commandments? Do not commit adultery; do not commit murder; do not steal; do not give false testimony; do no injury; honor your father and mother.
20 Te vaengah anih loh, “Saya, te rhoek te ka camoe lamkah boeih ka tuem coeng,” a ti nah.
The other replied, Rabbi, I have observed all these from my childhood.
Te phoeiah halo lamtah kai m'vai,” a ti nah.
Jesus, looking upon him, loved him, and said to him, In one thing, nevertheless, you are deficient. Go, sell all that you have, and give the price to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; then come, and follow me, carrying the cross.
22 Tedae hnopai muep aka khueh la a om dongah tekah olka loh moelh a khaih tih kothae doela vik cet.
But he was troubled at this answer, and went away sorrowful; for he had great possessions.
23 Te vaengah Jesuh loh taengvai a sawt tih a hnukbang rhoek te, “Tangka aka om tah Pathen ram ah kun ham bahoeng kuel mai,” a ti nah.
Then Jesus looking around him, said to his disciples, How difficult it is for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!
24 Te dongah Jesuh olka dongah hnukbang rhoek tah a ngaihmang uh. Tedae Jesuh loh amih te koep a doo tih, “Camoe rhoek aih khaw, Pathen kah ram la kun ham te kuel kahlak la om ta.
The disciples were astonished at his words; but Jesus resuming the discourse, said, Children, how difficult is it for them, who confide in wealth, to enter the kingdom of God!
25 Kuirhang te Pathen kah ram ah a kun lakah kalauk te phamet khui ah a kun ham phoeng ngai,” a ti nah.
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
26 Tedae te rhoek tah let uh khungdaeng tih amamih te, “Unim aka daem thai ve,” a ti uh.
At this they were still more amazed, and said one to another, Who then can be saved?
27 Jesuh loh amih te a sawt tih, “Hlang ham a tloelnah dae Pathen ham tah a tloelnah moenih Pathen taengah tah boeih yoeikoek mai,” a ti nah.
Jesus looking upon them, said, To men it is impossible, but not to God; for to God all things are possible.
28 Peter loh a tong tih, “Kaimih loh boeih ka toeng uh tih nang kam vai uh coeng he,” a ti nah.
Then Peter took occasion to say, As for us, we have forsaken all, and followed you.
29 Jesuh loh, “Nangmih taengah rhep kan thui, kai ham neh olthangthen ham im khaw, manuca rhoek khaw, ngannu khaw, manu khaw, napa khaw, ca khaw lohmuen khaw aka toeng te om pawh.
Jesus answering, said, Indeed, I say to you, there is none who shall have forsaken his his house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, for my sake and the gospel's;
30 Tahae tue kah hnaemtaeknah khuiah pataeng im khaw, manuca khaw, ngannu khaw, manu khaw, ca khaw, lohmuen khaw a pueh yakhat la dang het pawt nim? Aka lo ham tue ah dungyan hingnah khaw om pueng. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
who shall not receive now, in this world, a hundred fold; houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the future state, eternal life.
But many shall be first, who are last, and last, who are first.
32 Jerusalem la a caeh uh kah longpueng ah a om uh vaengah Jesuh tah amih taengah a lamhma ana om pah. Te dongah a ngaihmang uh tih aka vai rhoek long khaw a rhih uh. Tedae hlainit te koep a khuen tih amah taengah aka thoeng ham te amih taengah thui ham a tong.
As they were on the road to Jerusalem, Jesus walking before them, a panic seized them, and they followed him with terror. Then taking the twelve aside, he told them again what would befall him.
33 “Jerusalem la n'caeh uh he hlang capa tah khosoihham neh cadaek rhoek taengah a paek vetih a duek ham a boe sak uh phoeiah namtom rhoek taengah a thak uh ni.
Behold, says he, we are going to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests, who will condemn him to die, and deliver him to the Gentiles,
34 Anih te a tamdaeng uh phoeiah a timthoeih uh ni, a boh uh vetih a ngawn uh ni. Tedae hnin thum phoeiah koep thoo ni,” a ti nah.
who will mock him, and scourge him, and spit upon him, and kill him; but the third day he shall rise again.
35 Te vaengah Zebedee capa rhoi James neh Johan loh a paan rhoi tih, “Saya namah taengah kan bih uh te tah kaimih ham nan saii koinih ka ngaih rhoi,” a ti nah.
Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, accosted him, saying, Rabbi, we beg you would grant us what we purpose to ask.
He said to them, what would you have me grant you?
37 Te rhoi long khaw amah te, “Kaimih rhoi he namah kah bantang lamloh pakhat, banvoei lamloh pakhat te m'pae lamtah na thangpomnah dongah ka ngol rhoi eh,” a ti nah.
They answered, That when you shall have attained your glory, one of us may sit at your right hand, and the other at your left.
Jesus replied, You know not what you ask. Can you drink such a cup as I am to drink; and undergo an immersion like that which I must undergo?
They answered, We can. Jesus said to them, You shall indeed drink such a cup, as I am to drink, and undergo an immersion like that which I must undergo;
40 Tedae kai kah banvoei bantang ah ngol ham te kai loh paek ham om pawt tih a hmoel tangtae rhoek ham ni a om,” a ti nah.
but to sit at my right hand, and left, I can not give, unless to those for whom it is appointed.
41 Parha rhoek loh a yaak uh vaengah James neh Johan taengah koe thatlai uh.
The ten hearing this, conceived indignation against James and John.
42 Te dongah Jesuh loh amih te a khue tih, “Namtom rhoek aka mawt tah amamih aka vueinan tih amamih khuikah aka len loh amih aka huttet la a ngai uh te na ming uh.
But Jesus having called them together, said to them, You know that those who are accounted the princes of the nations, domineer over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them;
Tedae nangmih ah a len la om aka ngaih long tah nangmih kah tueihyoeih la om saeh.
but it must not be so amongst you. On the contrary, whosoever would be great amongst you, shall be your servant;
and whosoever would be the chief, shall be the slave of all.
45 Hlang capa tah hlang thotat sak ham pawt tih sak ham pah ham neh a hinglu te ping kah tlansum la paek ham ni halo,” a ti nah.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
46 Te phoeiah Jerikho la pawk uh tih Jerikho lamkah a hnukbang rhoek khaw, hlangping khaw huhut khong uh. Te vaengah Timaeus capa Bartimaeus buhbih mikdael te long taengah ngol.
Then they came to Jericho. Afterward, as he was departing thence, with his disciples, and a great crowd, blind Bartimeus, son of Timeus, who sat by the way-side begging,
47 Nazareth Jesuh om tila a yaak vaengah koe pang tih, “David capa Jesuh kai n'rhen lah,” a ti nah.
hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, cried, saying, Jesus Son of David, have pity upon me!
48 Te dongah anih te hilphah sak ham muep a sim uh. Tedae te long khaw anah la lat pang tih, “David capa, kai n'rhen lah,” a ti.
Many charged him to be silent, but he cried still the louder, Son of David, have pity upon me!
49 Te dongah Jesuh te pai tih, “Anih ke khue uh,” a ti nah. Te dongah mikdael te a khue uh tih, “Thoo, na ngaimong sak, nang n'khue coeng,” a ti na uh.
Jesus stopping, ordered them to call him. Accordingly they called the blind man, saying to him, Take courage; arise, he calls you.
50 Te long khaw a himbai te a voeih tih a cungpet doela Jesuh taengah pawk.
Then throwing down his mantle, he sprang up, and went to Jesus.
51 Te phoeiah Jesuh loh anih te a doo tih, “Na ngaih te kan saii pawn eh,” a ti nah. Te dongah mikdael loh Jesuh taengah, “Rhabboni, ka hmuh van lah mako,” a ti nah.
Jesus addressing him, said, What do you wish me to do for you? Rabboni, answered the blind man, to give me my sight.
52 Te vaengah Jesuh loh anih te, “Cet laeh, namah kah tangnah loh nang n'khang coeng,” a ti nah. Te vaengah tlek a hmuh tih longpueng ah Jeusuh pahoi a vai.
Jesus said to him, Go; your faith has cured you. Immediately he recovered his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
